The game would be tight throughout the first half as the Panthers would have a slim 39-33 lead at the break. In the second half the Panthers offense would come alive as they would win the half 52-37 and the Cardinals would fall 91-70. Plattsburgh State's Brooke Brenna (13) battles for the loose ball at midcourt. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Middlebury Panthers in the last home game of the season. The game would be tight through the first quarter as the Cardinals would have a slim 15-14 lead. In the second quarter, the defenses would step and the Cardinals win the quarter 12-9 and have a 27-23 lead at the break. When the teams returned for the second half the Panthers would run away with it and win the third quarter 22-7 and have a 45-34 lead. In the fourth quarter, the Cardinals would fight hard to stay in the game and win the quarter 20-14 although it would not be enough as the Cardinals would fall 59-54. Leading the way for the Cardinals would be Taylor Clare and Hope Cerasuolo with 11 points as they fall to 10-13 on the season. Gallery

Peru and Northern Adirondack wrestle battle for position in the 150lb weight class Northern Adirondack would eventually win the class. It would be the section VII sectional championships from Peru. The five schools that would be competing would be Peru Saranac, Ausable Valley, Northern Adirondack, and Beekmantown. All class winners would advance on to the New York State wrestling championships in two weeks in Albany. The eventual school champion would be Peru followed by Saranac. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Hockey Beekmentown Eagles Vs Plattsburgh Hornets Hannah Hope Fund Game February 10th 2017

Beekmantown's Kaden Kolawaski (18) with a quick wrister in close for the goal. It would be a match between crosstown rivals for a good cause. As the Beekmantown Eagles would match up with the Plattsburgh Hornets in CVAC action. The Hornets would answer the bell first as they score 1:30 into the first period on Paul Fine-Lease's goal. The game would stay there till 2:34 into the second period when Plattsburgh's Seth Atwood would light the lamp to make it 2-0. The Hornets would expand there lead to 3-0 on Ben Champagnes' goal in the last 3 minutes of the second period. Although the Eagles would not give up the fight as they would score in the 6-minute mark of the third period on the Kaden Kowlaski goal. Although it would not be enough as the Hornets would secure the 3-1 victory and go to 10-4-1 while the Eagles fall to 7-9-1 on the season. Gallery

SUNYAC Men's Hockey Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs Fredonia State Blue Devils January 28th 2017

Plattsburgh State's Pat Egan (16) with the open ice hit to break up the play and get the puck. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Fredonia State Blue Devils in SUNYAC action. The Cardinals would get the first goal of the night at 9L55 of the first when Evan Lindquist would score to make it 1-0. The game would remain there until 7:37 of the second period when Philip Middleton would score to make it 2-0. Then just over two minutes later Cole Stallard would extend the lead to 3-0 on the short-handed goal. Although the Blue Devils would keep fighting and get on the board at 5:51 on the third period to make it 3-1. The Cardinals would hold on from there for the 3-1 victory. In the wining effort, Brady Rouleau would make 24 saves on the night as the Cardinals go to 11-8-1 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Brady Rouleau (34) with the glove save as part of a 22 save night. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host #10 and SUNYAC foe Buffalo State Bengals on Mad Dag Castine night. The Cardinals would take the 1-0 lead on Brady Phaff's goal at 6:44 of the first period. The Cardinals would extend there lead to 2-0 in the final minute of the first period on Joe Drabin's goal. The game would stay there till 10:32 of the second period when the Bengals would score to make it 2-1. From then on both teams would fight hard but there would be no more scoring as the Cardinals hold on for the 2-1 victory. In the winning effort, Brad Rouleau would stop 22 as the Cardinals go to 10-8-1 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Mackenize Millen (11) battles for the lose puck along the end boards. The #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Utica Pioneers on the second game of weekend doubleheader in ECAC West play. The game would remain scoreless through the first period and the Pioneers would take the 1-0 lead a minute into the second period. The Cardinals would fight back and tie the game at one Kayla Meneghin goal. Then the Cardinals would take the 2-1 lead at the four minute mark of third on Kayla Meneghin shorthanded goal. Then in the final minute of the game Megan Crandell would add the empty netter to secure the 3-1 victory. In the winning effort Camille Leonard would make 14 saves as the Cardinals go to 16-1 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Melisa Ames (24) gets the goal of the rebound above goalies shoulder. The #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Utica Pioneers in ECAC West action. The Cardinals would open the scoring at 3:20 of the first period on the Sarah Wolfe goal to make it 1-0. Then at the 7:57 mark of the 1st period, the Cardinals would extend the lead to 2-0 on the Megan Crandell goal. Then under a minute later the Cardinals would make it 3-0 on the Melissa Ames goal. The Cardinals would add one more in the 1st period on the Meghan Kraus goal to make it 4-0. The Pioneers would get on the board near the need of the first to make it 4-1 Cardinals after the 1st period. That is where the game would stay until the 9-minute mark of the third when the Pioneers would score to make it 4-2. Then just over two minutes later the Cardinals would regain there three-goal lead at 5-2 on Ashley Songin goal. Then at the 13:17 mark of the third, the Cardinals would end there scoring on the Mackenize Millen goal to secure the 6-2 victory. In the winning effort, Camille Leonard would make 17 saves as the Cardinals go to 15-1 on the season. Gallery

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Morrisville State Mustangs in SUNYAC play. The Mustangs would take the early lead at 1-0 at 8:27 of the first period. In the second period the Cardinals offense would come alive and score three goals from Cole Stallard and Cam Owens twice and the Mustangs would add one as the Cardinals lead 3-2 after the second period. In the third period, the teams would combine for seven goals getting the goals for the Cardinals are Ayrton Valente, Kyle Hall (twice), Joe Drabin as the Cardinals would hold on for the 7-5 victory. It would be the fourth game of the day in the Section 7/10 Challenge featuring the Saranac Chiefs and Potsdam Sandstoners. The Chiefs would be cruising in the first half as they would have a 35-25 lead at the break. In the second half, it would be scramble as Potsdam would not give up easy and actually win the half 42-34. Although it would not be enough as the Chiefs hold on for the 69-65 victory and go to 5-9 on the season. Gallery
