Moriah's Matt Pelkey (44) curs back to the whole for the gain to give them the first down. It would be the #Moriah Vikings hosting the #2 Cambridge Indians in the Quarterfinals of the New York State Class D Tournament. The Indians would get the scoring started early on a 54 yard run by English 37 seconds into the game for the 6-0 lead. The game would remain there til 1:24 of the second quarter when Vikings Matt Pelkey would tie the game up at 6 on a one-yard run. The Indians would regain the 12-6 lead on a 7 yard run by Dean at 6:31. Then in the closing minute of the half the Vikings would score on a 1 yard run by Dewey Snyder to take the 14-12 lead to intermission. When the teams came back for the second half the Indians would regain the lead at 18-14 on a 1 yard run from Dean at 6:08. Although the Vikings would not be denied as they would retake the 20-18 lead on a 46-yard touchdown pass to Dewey Snyder. Although from there on it would be the Indians game as they would score 36 unanswered points helped by four Vikings turnovers. As the Indians would defeat the Vikings 54-20 and bring an end to the Moriah Vikings season at 9-2.Gallery

Peru Indians Vs Gouvenour Wildcats NYSPHSAA Football Class B First Round November 4th 2017

Peru's Carson Cunningham (6) with the leaping catch across the middle for the first down. The Wildcats would open up the scoring on a long run to make it 8-0 2:07 into the first quarter. The Indians would come right back on a 60 yard run by Kasen Brennan 36 seconds later to make the score 8-6. The Wildcats would score on there first play of the next drive to extend there lead to 16-6. Then just 30 seconds later the wildcats would score again to extend there lead to 22-6. The Indians would cut into the deficit on a 59-yard pass to Robert Reynolds at 3:35 to make it 22-12. The game would stay there til the 5:32 mark of the 2nd quarter when Austin Carpenter would score on a 6-yard pass to make it 22-18. Although the Wildcats would march right down the field and score on a 15 yard touchdown pass at 9:28 to make it 28-18. Although the Indians would come back and make it 28-25 with 1 second left in the half on an 8-yard pass to Carson Cunningham to make it 28-25 t the half. Although when the team teams returned for the second the Wildcat offense would prove to be to much for the Indians as they would outscore them 27-6 as the Indians would fall 57-31. With the loss, the Indians' season would come to an end at the end of 3-7. Gallery

Tupper Lake Lumberjacks Vs #10 Moriah Vikings NYSPHSAA Football Class D 1st Round November 3rd 2017

Moriah's (4) fights through the tackle of the lineman and gets the first down in the RedZone. It would be the 1st Round of the New York State Class D Tournament and it would feature the #10 Moriah Vikings against the Tupper Lake Lumberjacks. This would be a game that would be in doubt from the opening kickoff as Moriah would have a 37-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Scoring in the first quarter would by Dewey Snyder (2 running touchdowns), Rob Flack (2 running touchdowns) along with number 29. In the second quarter, Moriah would would slow up there attack and only get one score from Sam Gangi for the 44-0 lead at the half. In the second half, it would be more of the same as the Vikings would win it 13-6 and secure the 57-6 victory. In the winning effort, the Vikings go to 9-1 and will host the winner from Section II next weekend at Ausable Valley High school. Gallery

#1 Saranac Chiefs Vs #3 Saranac Lake Red Storm - Section VII Class C Championship - October 28 2017

Saranac's James Conway (44) with the pass breakup along the sidelines. It would be a rematch of last years Section VII Class C Championship as the Saranac Chiefs would meet up with the Saranac Lake Red Storm. The Chiefs would get the scoring going as Keegan Wood would score on the 32 yard run to make it 7-0. Although as the quarter ended the Red Storm would score on the 6 yard run from Swanson to make it 7-6. In the second quarter Luke Maye would score twice on 11 and 6 yard runs to make it 21-6 at the half. When the teams returned for the second half the Red Storm would score with 1:13 left in the third quarter on a 26 yard pass to Shipman. Although from there it would be lock down defense on both sides and the Saranac Chiefs would get the 21-12 victory for there first ever Section VII Class C title. With the win the Saranac Chiefs advance to the New York State playoffs and take on Ogdensburg in the first round. Gallery

#1 Plattsburgh Hornets Vs #3 Peru Indians - Section VII Class B Championship - October 28 2017

Plattsburgh's Jordan Moore(4) with the great two handed tippy toe catch in the endzone. It would be the #1 Plattsburgh Hornets meeting up with the #3 Peru Indians in the Section VII Class B Championship. This would be a defensive battle between two evenly matched teams. As the Peru Indians would score first with a minute left in the first quarter on Kasen Brennan 6 yard touchdown. The game would stay there til 4:28 left in the second quarter when Jordan Moore would score on a 13 yard pass although the hornets would miss the extra point and the Indians would have a 7-6 lead at the break. When the teams came back for the second half the defenses would stay stout as there would be no scoring. The Peru Indians would get the 7-6 victory and be crowned the 2017 Section VII champions and advance to the New York State Class B Tournament and play the Gouvenour Wildcats. Gallery

#1 Ticonderoga Sentinels Vs #2 Moriah Vikings - Section VII Class D Championship - October 27 2017

Moriah's Dylan Trombley (10) steps in front of Ticonderoga's Ethan Thompson (39) and makes the catch on the goal line to save the touchdown. It would be the Section VII Class D Championship between long time rivals the #1 Ticonderoga Sentinels and the #2 Moriah Vikings. The Sentinels would take the 7-0 lead 5 minutes into the first quarter on Hayden Scuderi's 1 yard run. The Moriah Vikings would get on the board in the last minute of the first quarter on a Rob Flack 6 yard touchdown but they would fail the 2 point conversion and trail 7-6 after the first quarter. In the second quarter the Vikings would take a 14-7 lead on a Connor Anderson 2 yard run at 7:45 of the quarter. The game would stay there all the way til the 8:20 mark of the third quarter when Pelkey would score on the 1 yard run to make it 22-7. Then at the 4:15 mark of the fourth quarter Pelkey would score again for the Vikings to extend there lead to 28-7. The Sentinels would then do there best to make a comeback as they would score 43 seconds later on a 13 yard pass to Michael Dushane to make it 28-15. The Sentinels would keep fighting and with 35 seconds left in the game Michael Dushane would score again to make it 28-22. The Sentinels would then attempt the onside but it would be unsuccessful and the Vikings would get the 28-22 victory. In the winning effort the Moriah Vikings would go to 8-1 on the season and have a meeting with the Tupper Lake Lumberjacks in the New York State Class D First Round. As the Ticonderoga Sentinels season comes to an end at 8-1. Gallery

#2 Beekmantown Eagles Vs #3 Peru Indians - Section VII Class B Semi-Finals - October 21 2017

Beekmantown's Brandon Belrose (7) jumps the route and puts the hand out there to break up the pass intended for Robert Reynolds. It would be a classic match this time though in the playoffs as the #2 Beekmantown Eagles would host the #3 Peru Indians in the Class B Semmi-Finals. Peru would get the first score of the game at 8:58 of the first quarter on a 30 yard fumble recovery to make it 7-0. The Indians would extend the lead to 14-0 in the first few seconds of the second quarter on a 7 yard pass to Alex Rine. The Beekmantown Wagles would cut the lead in half on a 38 yard run by Cristobal Arzola to make it 14-7 at 1:58 of the second quarter. Then at the 5:06 mark of the second quarter the Eagles would tie the game at 14 on a 20 yard run by Dylan Hazel. The game would stay there til the 4th quarter when the Beekmantown Eagles would take the 21-14 lead on a 25 yard quarterback keeper from Brandon Belrose. The Indians would march right back down and score on a 10 yard pass to Robert Reynolds although they would miss the extra point to make it 21-20 with 8 minutes left. Then from that point on the game would get very questionable as there was alot of very questionable calls that would go against Beekmantown. With that going on the Indians would get the eventual game winning score with 1:50 left in the game on Kasen Brennan 12 yard run for the 26-21 victory. In the winning effort the Peru Indians go to 2-6 and have a date with the Plattsburgh Hornets for the Class B Championships and the Beekmantown Eagles season comes to a end at 4-4. Gallery

#2 Au Sable Valley Patriots Vs #3 Saranac Lake Red Storm - Section VII Class B Semi-Finals - October 20 2017

The Red Storm would get the first score of the game from Jarrett Ashton on a 12 yard run to take the 6-0 lead 5:14 into the first quarter. The Red Storm would extend there lead to 14-0 on Jarrett Ashton's 1 yard run in the closing minute of the first quarter. The Patriots would answer back 3:37 into the second quarter with a 2 yard run by Matthew Pray to to make it a 14-6 game. The Red Storm would come back to regain there 14 point lead on a 19 yard pass to Ward Walton at 7:32 on the second quarter to make it 21-6. When the teams came back for the second half the Red Storm would not let up as they would extend the lead to 28-6 on Jarrett Ashton's third touchdown run of the night. In the fourth quarter the Red Storm's DJ Morgan would a running touchdown to put the icing on the cake of a 35-6 victory. In the winning effort the Red Storm go 2-6 and will face the Saranac Chiefs in the Class C Championship. In the losing effort the Patriots season comes to end at 1-7.Gallery

It would be the last week of the regular season in the C.V.A.C. and the Saranac Chiefs would host the Beekmantown Eagles. The Eagles would get the first score of the game on a Matthew LaValley 2 yard run 2:53 into the first quarter. The Eagles would extend there lead in the closing minute of the first quarter on a Brandon Belrose 12 yard run for the 14-0 lead. In the second quarter Matthew LaValley would get his second score of the game on at 1 yard run at 6:55 of the second quarter for the 21-0 lead. Then in the closing seconds of the half, the Eagles would add a 21-yard field goal for the 24-0 lead at intermission. At the 9:59 mark of the third quarter the Eagles would extend the lead to 31-0 on a 19 yard run by Dylan Hazel. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles would end the scoring with a 17-yard pass to Evan Brunell for the 38-0 victory. It would be the last week of the regular season and Ausable Valley would be hosting #12 Moriah Vikings. This would be a game that Vikings would be in complete control from start to finish. The Vikings would score twice in the first quarter on a couple 2 yard plays one to Jerin Sargent and the other to Connor Anderson for the 14-0 lead. In the second quarter, it would be more of the same as the Vikings would score three more times. This time scoring would be Dewey Snyder 2 yard run, Jerin Sargent 85 yard strike, and Flack on a three-yard run to have the 35-0 lead at halftime. When the teams came back for the second the Vikings would step off the gas and coast through the second half getting just one more score to secure the 41-0 victory. In the winning effort, the Vikings finish the regular season at 6-1 while the Patriots go to 1-6. Gallery

Ticonderoga's Trevor Parent (18) shads off the tackler in the backfield and ends up getting positive yards on the pay. The Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Ticonderoga Sentinels in week 6 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season. The Sentinels would jump out to a quick 7-0 lead on a 52 yard run by Trevor Parent two minutes into the game. The Sentinels would answer at 5:33 of the opening quarter this time on a 50-yard run to extend the lead to 13-0. There would be no scoring in the second quarter so the Sentinels would take a 13-0 lead at the break. When the teams came back for the second half so would the Sentinels to form as Evan Garney would score on a quarterback sneak at 6:19 to make it 21-0. Then with under two minutes left in the third Trevor Parent would score again to make it 28-0. In the fourth quarter, the Sentinels would add one more on Hayden Scuderi would score to make it 35-0. In the winning effort, the Sentinels keep there undefeated season intact as they go to 6-0 while the Hornets fall to 3-3 on the season. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Week 2 Peru Indians Vs Beekmantown Eagles September 9th 2017

Peru's (6) with the two-handed catch over the middle and would turn up for a big gain and first down. It would be week two of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference and it would be the classic rival game between the host Peru Indians and the visiting Beekmantown Eagles. The Indians would streak first on the Keagen LaGrave (26) 6 yard run halfway through the first quarter for the 6-0 lead. The Indians would strike again when Keagan LaGrave would score on the pass play with 2 minutes left in the 2nd quarter to make it 13-0. The Eagles would strike right back on a 60 yard run by Cris Arzola to make it 13-7 after the 1st quarter. In the second quarter Eagles, Cris Arzola would tie the game on a 51-yard run at 5:12 of the quarter. Then in the final minute of the quarter, the Eagles would take the lead on the touchdown pass to Evan Burnell for the 19-13 lead at halftime. When the teams would come back for the second half Austin Carpenter (3) would get the scoring started for the Indians on a touchdown pass at 4:24 of the third to make it 20-19. In the final minute of the quarter, Austin Carpenter would strike again to make it 27-19 after the third quarter. The Eagles would strike back and tie the game at 27 just under two minutes into the fourth quarter with Evan Burnell's second score to tie the game at 27. Then about halfway through the fourth, the Eagles would take the 33-27 on Cris Arzola's third score of the game. Then with just under two minutes left in the game, the Indians would tie the game at 33 and send it to overtime. In the overtime period, the Indians would get the play first and score on Ryan Connell quarterback sneak to make it 40-33. The Eagles would get a chance to match them and force and force another overtime. With that Eagles possession, Cris Arzola would score although the Eagles would go for two and succeed and get the 41-40 victory. In the winning effort, the Beekmantown Eagles go to 1-1 as the head back on the road against Moriah Vikings. With the lose the Peru Indians fall to 0-2 on the season as they will host the 0-2 Saranac Lake Red Storm Gallery

It would be the start of week 2 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season as we have the Plattsburgh Hornets hosting the Moriah Vikings in League action. The Vikings would get the first score of the game in the 1st quarter a run by Connor Anderson for the 8-0 lead. In the second quarter the Vikings would extend there lead to 16-0 on Connor Anderson's second touchdown run of the day at 4:38of the quarter. The game would stay there til the 7:26 mark of the third quarter when Jay Sargent would take it 22 yards for the score and make it 24-0. In the fourth quarter, the Hornets would get on the board on a 20-yard touchdown pass to Talon Bushey at the 8:10 mark to make it 24-8. Although the Vikings would answer right back a short run to secure the 31-8 victory. In the winning effort, the Vikings improve to 2-0 as they head home for Beekmantown next week. Saranac's Jacob Nolan (13) with the catch along the sidelines and turns upfield for the big gain. The Saranac Chiefs would open up there season at home against the Plattsburgh Hornets. The Chiefs would strike quick for the early lead on the 60 yards run by Luke Maye for the 6-0 lead at 1:54 of the first quarter. The Chiefs would extend there lead to 14-0 on a Jacob Nolan 61 yard touchdown at the end of the quarter. In the second quarter, the Chiefs would extend there lead to 22-0 on an Andy LaBeau interception for a touchdown. At the end of the Horners would finally get on the board to make it a 22-8 Chiefs lead at the break. The Horners would come out and try and make a game of it as they would return a fumble for a score to make it 22-14. Then with about two minutes left in the game, the Chiefs would extend there lead 28-14 on a Jacob Nolan score. With that, the Chiefs would get the 28-14 win and go to 1-0 as the Hornets fall to 0-1. Saranac's Lakes Jarrett Ashton (9) bounces off the would be tacklers for the first down as part of a two touchdown night. It would be opening night of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference football season and the Ausable Valley Patriots would host the Saranac Lake Red storm. The Red Storm would get the opening score of the game as Jarrett Ashton would bust out for 61 yards for the 6-0 lead. The would stay there til 3 minutes into the 2nd quarter when Mason Douglas would return a fumble and give the Patriots the 8-6 lead. The Red Storm would answer right back on Jarrett Ashton's second touchdown of the night and regain the 14-8 lead. On the next Patriots possession Matthew Pray would break it 80 yards and the Patriots would take the 16-14 lead back. Although the Red Storm would strike again on a Jacob Shipman 50 yard touchdown reception to give the Red Storm the 22-16 lead at the break. When the teams came back for the second half the Patriots defense would step up and take charge of the game. The Patriors would retake the lead at 24-22 on a Luis Perez 8 yard reception and score with just under 5 minutes left in the third quarter. The Patriots would extend there lead to 30-22 a 71 yard touchdown run for Matthew Pray his second of the game Then with just under 8 minutes left in the game Jarrett Ashton would get his third touchdown of the game and tie the game at 30. The Patriots would regain the lead at 38-30 with 6:30 left in the game on Matthew Pray's third touchdown of the game and secure the 38-30 win. In the winning effort the Patriots start there season at 1-0 while the Red Storm fall to 0-1. Gallery
