It would be the fourth game of the day and seventh game of championship weekend and it would be for the Class D Boy's title it would feature the #1 Crown Pont Panthers and the #4 Schroon Lake Wildcats as they battle in the rematch of last years title which was also a thriller. The game would be starting well for the top-seeded Crown Point Panthers as they would jump out to the big lead at 20-8 after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Wildcats would start their chargeback with a 15-8 quarter but the Panthers would still have the 30-23 advantage as they headed into the intermission period. When the teams returned for the third quarter defense would be the name of the game as the Wildcats would have a slim advantage of 8-7 for the quarter and the Panthers would still hold the lead at 37-31. When the teams went into the fourth quarter the Wildcats would leave everything out there and tie the game at 41 with a 10-4 quarter and they would even have a shot at the end to win it regulation but the game would head to overtime. In the overtime frame, the teams would trade baskets back and forth and a second overtime would be needed but in the second overtime, the Wildcats would get control and win the overtime 19-11 get the 63-55 victory, and be crowned the 2024 Class D Section VII champions. Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class C Finals Boy's Basketball: #1 Moriah Vikings Vs #2 Northern Adirondack Bobcats March 2nd, 2024

It would be the third game of the day at the NYSPHSAA Section VII Basketball championships and this time it would be for the Boys Basketball Class C title and it would be #1 Moriah Vikings and the #2 Northern Adirondack Bobcats In the battle of David versus Goliath the game would be going the way of David as the Northern Adirondack Bobcats would have the 21-17 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Vikings would start to knock the rust off and get in the groove but the Bobcats would play a scrappy game the Vikings would win the quarter 14-13 but the Bobcats would have the 34-31 lead at the intermission. In the second half though it would be the Vikings off their past ten sectional title that would come out and they would start making their shoot as they would have a 24-14 quarter and take the 55-48 lead into the last eight minutes. In the fourth quarter, the Bobcats would do their best to get the lead back but Goliath would just be too much on this day as the Vikings won the last quarter 15-14 and secured the 70-62 victory. In the winning effort for the Vikings, Cooper Allen would lead the way with 27 points. The Moriah Vikings would make their annual return to the NYSPHSAA Class C Tournament and will play the winner of the Section X and II game on Saturday, March 9th back at Clinton Community College for the right to make the trip back down to Glenns Falls and the Cool Insuring Arena. The Moriah Vikings would be crowned the 2024 Section VII Class C Boy's Basketball champions for the 11th straight season as they defeat the Northern Adirondack Bobcats 70-62. The game would be tight through the first quarter as the visiting Bobcats would hold the slight lead at 17-16. However, in the second quarter, the Hornets would step up all around with the offense and defense as they would win the quarter 16-4 and take a 32-21 lead into the intermission. When the teams would return for the third quarter the Bobcats would find their game and the quarter would be a lot more even as the Hornets would win the quarter 21-18 and take the 53-39 lead into the fourth. In the fourth quarter, it would be another even one as the Hornets would win it 16-13 to secure the 69-52 victory. It would be a matchup inside section VII Baseball as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Northern Adirondack Bobcats in league action. The Hornets would score four runs in the second inning with the key point of the inning being a rbi single by Braeden Calkins to give the Hornets the 4-0 lead. However, Bobcats would answer right back with a single run in the top of the third inning to make it a 4-1 game. Although the Hornets would keep the bats hot and score another 4 runs in the bottom of the third led by a 3-rbi triple by Trenton Griffiths to give the Hornets the 8-1 lead. The Hornets would stay hot in the fourth inning the Hornets would score another 4 runs lead by a pair of rbi hits by Nate Baker and Braeden Calkins and take a 12-1 lead. Then in the fifth inning, the Hornets would continue the hitting as they would get another couple of runs on a 2 rbi double by Marcus Griffith and extend the lead to 14-1. In the sixth inning, the Bobcats would get a single run by Boulrice on a passed ball to make it a 14-2 game. Although the Hornets would keep their red-hot going and get another five runs in the sixth inning led by a pair of rbi singles by Nate Baker and Jake Ferris as the Hornets would secure the 19-2 win. In the winning effort for the Hornets, Dan Hartman would go five innings and give up just three hits and one run and struck out nine as the Hornets go to 8-3 as the Bobcats would fall to 1-6 on the season. Section VII Class C Boy's Basketball Championship: #2 Northern Adirondack Bobcats Vs #1 Moriah Vikings March 5th 2023

Moriah Vikings's Cooper Allen (13) gets up and gets the clean block of Northern Adirondack's Caleb Damour (21) to keep the Bobcats in check. It would be the second game of championship Sunday for Section VII Basketball and this would be in Class C Boy's action as the #1 Moriah Vikings would take on the #2 Northern Adirondack Bobcats. The game would get off to a fast start, which would be good for the Moriah Vikings as they would double up the Bobcats in the first quarter and have a 22-11 lead. In the second quarter, the Vikings would continue to impress as they would pull away with a 14-5 quarter and have a 36-16 lead as they entered the halftime break. When the teams would return for the second half the Vikings would not show any let up as they would 11-10 quarter and take a commanding 47-26 lead into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the Vikings would let up and just coast the quarter as the Bobcats would win the quarter at 12-8 although the Vikings would hold on for the 55-38 victory. With the win, the Vikings will advance to the NYSPHSAA Class C Tournament and will play Chatham from Section 2 at Clinton Community College on March 8th with the winner getting Canton for the right to go to Final Four.
