Plattsburgh State's Jon Craft (9) fields the high hop on the grounder and fires onto first for the out. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Oneonta State Red Dragons in SUNYAC conference play. The Red Dragons would take a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. The Cardinals would come back in the bottom of the inning with a pair of runs helped by an RBI double by Billy Romatabus to make 2-1. The Cardinals would extend the lead to 3-1 on an RBI single by Frank Finkbeiner. The Red Dragons would add a run in the third to make it 3-2. Then in the sixth, the Red Dragons would add three runs and take a 5-3 lead. That would end the scoring on the day and the Cardinals would fall 5-3 and drop to 4-26 on the season. In the losing effort, Frank Finkbeiner would lead the way going 1-3 with an RBI. Gallery

NCAA Division III Baseball Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs Middlebury Panthers April 20 2016

Plattsburgh State's Ray Flynn (20) slides in safe at third base ahead of the tag. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Middlebury Panthers in non-league action. The game would remain scoreless until the third period when the Panthers would break through with three runs and take the 3-0 lead. The Cardinals would get on the board in the fourth inning with a sacrifice bunt to make it 3-1. The Panthers would answer back in the fifth inning with three more runs to make it 6-1 Panthers. At the bottom of the fifth, the Cardinals would keep it close getting two runs to make it 6-4. In the sixth, the Panthers would score one to make it 7-4. At the bottom of the sixth, the Cardinals would score five to make it 9-7 Cardinals. The game would stay there till the ninth when the Panthers would get two runs. In the bottom of the ninth, the Cardinals would get the game-winning run on error pick off attempt at first and the runner would score from second to secure the 10-9 victory. In the winning effort, Trevor Markey would go 2 for 4 with a pair of RBI's as the Cardinals go to 4-25 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Kyle Combs (45) lines the base hit to the outfield. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would face fellow North Country foe the St. Lawrence Saints in non-league action. The Saints would take the early 1-0 lead in the first on an RBI single. The Cardinals would come back in the fourth with two runs on a pair of RBI singles to make it 2-1 cardinals. Although from on the Saints would be in control as they would get ten unanswered runs and get the 12-2 victory. In the losing effort, Jake Tolosky would lead the way going 2 for 4 as the Cardinals fall to 3-21 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Jon Craft (9) lays down the bunt for the base hit. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host arch-rival conference foe the Oswego State Lakers in SUNYAC play. The Lakers would take the 1-0 lead in the second inning. Although the Cardinals would come back in the bottom of the third inning and put up a 6 spot to take a 6-1 lead. Although it would be the downhill from there for the Cardinals as the Lakers would outscore them 15-0 over the remaining 6 innings as the Cardinals would fall 16-6 and fall to 3-20 on the season, Although leading the way for the Cardinals would be TJ Montalbano as he would go 2-5 with an RBI. NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs St. Lawrence Saints April 6th 2016

Plattsburgh State's Joey Kromer (4) with the tough face-off a win in the snow. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the St Lawrence Saints in Non-Conference action in the middle of a snowstorm. The Cardinals and Saints would be deadlocked after the 1st quarter tied at three and getting goals for the Cardinals would be Ryan Hubbard, Mitchell Labianca, and Brendan Damm. In the second quarter, the Saints would start to take command of the game outscoring the Cardinals 5-0 to take at 8-3 lead at intermission. The Saints would win the third quarter 2-1 to have a 10-4 lead the lone Cardinals goal would be Ryan Hubbard's second goal of the night. In the fourth quarter, the Cardinals would try to do there best but it would be too little too late as they would outscore the Saints 3-1 with goals coming from Mike Gay, Patrick Nash and Brendan Damm second of the night to make the final score 11-7. In the losing effort, the Cardinals would fall to 4-5 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Mike Gay (23) battles from the ground ball in the offensive zone box with RPI's Connor Hill (23). The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the RPI Engineers in nonleague action. The Cardinals would have a 3-2 lead after the first quarter with goals from Brendan Damm (2) and Matt Prokescch. In the second quarter, the Engineers would outscore the Cardinals 4-1 and take a 6-4 lead into the break getting the lone goal for the Cardinals would be Ryan Callahan. When the teams would return for the second half the Engineers would win the third quarter 3-1 and have a 9-5 lead the Cardinals goal would come from Joey Kromer. In the fourth quarter, there would only be one goal scored by the Cardinals Patrick Nash. Although it would not be enough as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would fall 9-6 and go to 4-4 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Melissa Sheeran (26) with the wrap around attempt on the goal. The #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #6 Amherst Lady Jeffs in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament. The game would remain scoreless until 6:12 of the second period when Kayla Menehgain would score to give the Cardinals 1-0 lead. The Cardinals would expand there lead to 2-0 at 8:19 on Melisa Ames goal. The Cardinals would finish off the second period with a Melissa Sheeran goal to make it 3-0 after the second period. When the third period started the Cardinals would keep control as they would expand the lead to 4-0 on Mackenize Millen's goal. The Cardinals would put the icing on the cake in the final minute of the game on a Bridget Baisley goal to secure the 5-0 victory. In the winning effort Camille Leonard would make 25 saves in the shutout effort as the Cardinals advance to the NCAA Final Four. Gallery

The Cardinals would show their muscle early in the contest scoring four goals in the first period from Karen Hudson, Kayla Meneghain, Jordan Lipson and Courtney Moriarty for the 4-0 lead. In the second period, the Cardinals would add two more goals from Melissa Sheeran, and Melissa Ames for 6-0 lead. In the third period, the Cardinals would put the icing on the cake with two more goals Courtney Moriarty (second of the night), and Jordan Lipson (second of the night) to secure the 8-0 victory. The Knights would take the early advantage and not look back as they would have a 2-0 lead after the first period. In the second period, the Knights would add four more goals to have a 6-0 lead headed to the third period. In the third period, the teams would trade goals getting the lone Cardinal goal would be Nick Belger as the Knights would secure the 7-1 victory. In the losing effort, the Cardinals goaltenders would combine for 23 saves as the Cardinals go to 20-4-3 on the season and wait to see if they get an at large bid to the NCAA Tournament. Gallery
