Section VII Class B Championship: #1 Beekmantown Eagles Vs #2 Peru Indians October 29th 2016

Peru's Evan Palmer (3) with the leaping catch along the sidelines over Beekmantown's Chris Arzola (23). It would be the classic rivalry for the Section VII Class B Championship as the #1 Beekmantown Eagles would take on the #2 Peru Indians. The Eagles would fire the shoot and take the 7-0 lead after the 1st quarter. In the second quarter the offenses would come alive and combine for 35 points and the game would be deadlocked at 21 at the half. When the teams came back for the third quarter the defenses would show up as the Indians would get the only score to take a 28-21 into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the Peru Indians would outscore the Eagles 13-8 and secure the 41-29 victory. In the winning effort, the Peru Indians advance to the New York State playoffs and will take on the Potsdam Sandstoners in the first round. Gallery

Section VII Class C Championship: #1 Saranac Lake Red Storm Vs #3 Saranac Chiefs October 29th 2016

Saranac's Logan Matthews (10) with the diving interception to take a touchdown away from Saranac Lake's Joe Viscardo (6). In the Section VII Class C Championship, it would be a battle of the Saranac's as the Saranac Lake Red Storm would battle with the Saranac Chiefs. The Red Storm would jump out to the 13-0 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Chiefs would score on an Issac Garman touchdown to make it 13-7 at the intermission. In the third quarter, the Red Storm would regain the 12 point lead at 19-7. In the fourth quarter, the Chiefs would not go quietly as they would start off with a safety to make it 19-9. Then they score with about 4 minutes left on a Sean Ahern touchdown to make it 19-16. That is where the game would finish as the Saranac Lake Red Storm secure the victory and advance to the New York State Playoffs and will play the Ogdensburg Blue Devils. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference: Class C Semi-Finals #2 Ausable Valley Patriots Vs #3 Saranac Chiefs October 21st 2016

Saranac's Johnny Devins (22) with the run up the middle for the game winning score. It would be Week 8 of the Champlain Valley Atheltic Conference season and Semi-Finals of Class C pitting #2 Ausable Valley Patriots and #3 Saranac Chiefs. It would be an evenly matched game through the great equalizer the rain there would be no score after the first quarter. The Saranac Chiefs would take a 6-0 lead into half on a QB sneak by Johnny Maye with 5 minutes left in the half. In the third quarter with 8 minutes left the Ausable Valley Patriots would tie the game up at 6 on a Tyler Atkins run. The game would remain there through regulation. They would go into overtime tied at six. In that overtime the Chiefs would score on a short run by Johnny Devins on there first possession to secure the win and advance to the Class C finals against the Saranac Lake Red Strom. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Week 7 Plattsburgh Hornets Vs Woodstock Wasps October 9 2015

Plattsburgh's Ryan Monahan (34) runs up the middle and breaks through the tacklers. It would be week 6 of section 7 football and the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Woodstock Wasps in nonleague action. The game would not start off the greatest as the Hornets would be down 24-6 at the half and lose there starting quarterback on a questionable targeting call. In the second half, the Hornets offense would come to life and the defense would step up there game and win the half 24-14. Although it wouldn't be enough as the Woodstock Wasps would get the 38-30 victory. In the losing effort getting the scores on the night would John Carroll (1) Sean Ahern (2) and Brady Pennington (3) as the Hornets fall to 1-6 as the head in the last game of the season against Ticonderoga. Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Week 7 Saranac Chiefs Vs Peru Indians October 8th 2016

Saranac's Logan Mathews (10) with the great catch along the sidelines as time expires fighting til the end. It would be week 6 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference and we would have the Saranac Chiefs playing host to the Peru Indians. The Saranac Chiefs would jump out to the 6-0 lead on a 19 yard run from Sean Ahern at the 9:36 mark of the first. The Peru Indians would come right back down the field and scored to tie the game at six on the long touchdown pass Evan Palmer. The Indians would take the 9-6 lead 2:23 into the second quarter on a 26-yard field goal and that's where the game would be at for halftime. At the 9:37 mark of the third quarter, the Indians would extend there lead to 15-6 on the touchdown pass. Then nearing the end of the third quarter the Indians would grab a pick 6 to make it 22-6 going to the last quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Indians would score again this time John Gallo to secure the 29-6 victory. In the winning effort, the Indians go to 3-3 while the Chiefs fall to 0-6 on the season. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Week 4 Plattsburgh Hornets Vs Ausable Valley Patriots September 25 2015

Plattsburgh's (21) comes around the edge after catching the screen pass dragging a defender. It would be week four the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference football season and this week we would feature the Plattsburgh Hornets and the Ausable Valley Patriots in action. The Patriots would take the 7-0 lead midway through the first quarter in the short run. The game would stay there all the way till the fourth quarter when the Patriots would extend the lead to 13-0 on the touchdown pass to (14). Then with 5 minutes left in the game, the Hornets would get on the board with the touchdown pass to (84) to cut the deficit in half at 13-7. With the win, the Patriots go to 2-2 as they head into the off week. As for the Hornets, they will fall to 0-4 on the season and will be headed to Peru next week to take on the Indians. Gallery

It would be week four of the C.V.A.C. season and the Ausable Valley Patriots would travel to the Peru Indians. The Patriots would take the 7-0 lead with 4:25 left in the first quarter on Brandon Snow's catch in the corner of the end zone. The Patriots would extend the lead to 13-0 on Brandon Snow's second touchdown of the day with 2:05 left in the half. That would be all the Patriots would need as the teams would go scoreless in the second half as the Patriots would hold on for the 13-0 victory. Saranac's Isaac Garman (88) with the diving catch on a fade route for the first down. It would be week four of the Champlain Valley Football League and the Saranac Chiefs would travel to Moriah for the game against the Vikings. The game would go back and forth throughout. The Vikings would take the 6-0 lead near the end of the first quarter on a touchdown run from Ethan Java to make it 6-0 Vikings. Then early in the second quarter, the Chiefs would tie the game up a touchdown pass to Andy LeBeau. That is where the game would stay til there was 1:30 left in the third when Ethan Java would score again and they would get the two-point conversion to make it 14-6 Vikings. Then with under three minutes left in the game, the Vikings would extend the lead to 21-6 on Ethan Java's third touchdown of the day. In the closing minute of the game, the Chiefs would score to make the final look better as Luke Maye would score on the QB sneak to make the final score 21-12. In the winning effort, the Vikings would go to 2-2 while the Chiefs would go to 0-4 on the season. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Week 2 Saranac Chiefs Vs Saranac Lake Red Storm September 10th 2016

Saranac's Isaac Garman (88) with the catch along the sidelines and would lead to a long touchdown score. It would be week two of the Champlain Valley Athletic League with the Saranac Chiefs who would be hosting the Saranac Lake Red Storm. The Red Storm would jump out to the quick 7-0 lead Brandon Meyers touchdown run. The Red Storm would extend their an advantage to 13-0 on Joe Viscardo's touchdown reception. The Chiefs would cut the lead the deficit in half on the long touchdown reception for Isaac Garman and that's where the game would be at the half. The Red Storm would regain the 13 point lead on Joe Viscardo's second touchdown on the day at 8:07 of the third quarter. Then with just under four minutes left in the game, they would extend it to 23-6 on a short field goal. As the clock would expire on the game the Chiefs would get a score on the quarterback keeper by Luke Maye to close out the 23-12 victory for the Red Storm. In the winning effort, the Red Storm would go to 1-1 while the Chiefs would fall to 0-2 on the season. Gallery

It would be a match up to very evenly matched teams in a contest that would come down to what team could push it across first. The lone score of the game would come with 7:26 left in the fourth quarter when Justyn Granger would break through the line four the nine-yard score. In the winning effort, the Ticonderoga Sentinels would improve to 2-0 while the Ausable Valley Patriots would fall to 0-2 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh Mitch Senecal (8) sneaks through for the touchdown as he loses his helmet as he goes over the goal line. It would be the opening night of the Champlain Valley football season as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Chiefs. The Hornets would get the first score of the game on a 2 yard run by Brady Pennington to make it 6-0 at the 7:30 mark. The Hornets would extend there lead to 12-0 a 31-yard interception return Harney just 38 seconds later. The Hornets would extend there lead to 18-0 on a 33-yard touchdown reception by Ben Champagne and take that 18-0 lead into the intermission. The game would stay there till 36 seconds of the fourth quarter when Mitch Senecal would score on the QB sneak to make it 25-0 Hornets. Then in the closing minutes of the game, Jason Moore would score on a 52-yard bomb to secure the 33-0 victory. In the winning effort, the Hornets would break a 29 game losing streak and start the season at 1-0 as the Saranac Chiefs fall to 0-1 to start the season. Gallery
