We would have a little Non-Conference men's lacrosse action as Plattsburgh State from the SUNYAC would host the unbeaten Clarkson Golden Knights from the Liberty League from the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse Soccer Complex. The first quarter would start off well for the Cardinals as they would stay in contact with the Golden Knights and only trail 3-2 after the quarter scoring for the Cardinals would be Michael Swift and John Eiseman. At the same time, it would be Andrew Kearney, Connor Matthews, and Thomas Fiebich for the Golden Knights. Although in the second quarter, the Golden Knights would pull away with a 5-1 quarter on goals from Tyler Hall, Christian Canino, Bryan Penney, Alex Seiler, and Matt Reilly while getting the lone goal for the Cardinals would be John Eiseman (second of the game) to give the Golden Knights 8-3 lead at the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter it would be no better for the Cardinals as they would get shutout 5-0 with Golden Knights goals from Matt Reilly (second of the game), Connor Matthews (second and third of the game), Logan Wilkinson and Alex Seiler (second of the game) as the Golden Knights would have the 13-3 lead as they enter the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter with the outcome already determined the Cardinals would get the two lone goals of the quarter both coming from Owen Lorenzetti as the Golden Knights would get the 13-5 win. In the winning effort, the Golden Knights would stay undefeated at 7-0 as the Golden Knights netminders would combine for ten saves on the day. The Cardinals would lose and fall to 2-5 on the season and Dan Clements would make 14 saves. The Cardinals will be back in action Saturday as they will travel to New Paltz to take on the Hawks in the conference opener. Gallery

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would have their home opener against a fellow north country foe the Clarkson Golden Knights as they were looking for there first win of the season. The game would not start good for the home Cardinals as they would trail 4-1 after the first quarter with the lone goal coming from Daniel Bonafede. In the second quarter, the Cardinal would find there offense although it still wouldn't be enough as they lose the quarter 6-4. Scoring for the Cardinals would be Kieran Rowley, and Dillon Smith (three) and trail 10-5 at the break. When the teams came back for the second half the defenses on both teams would take control of the game as it would be 4-1 Knights in the half with the lone cardinal foal from Robert Braceland as the Cardinals fall 15-6. Engineers in nonleague action the first quarter the Engineers would get the only two goals for the 2-0 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter the offense would come alive for the Cardinals as they would score four goals from Billy Moller (2), Kevin Litchauer and Ryan Hubbard. Although the Engineers would also get two goals and the game would be tied at 4-4 as the teams went into halftime. In the third quarter the Cardinals would get outscored 3-1 to make it 7-5 with the lone Cardinal goal coming from Brad Johnston. In the fourth quarter the Engineers would put the icing on the cake as they outscore the Cardinals 4-1 with the Cardinal goal coming from Ryan Hubbard as the Cardinals fall 11-6. The Cardinals and Saints would be deadlocked after the 1st quarter tied at three and getting goals for the Cardinals would be Ryan Hubbard, Mitchell Labianca, and Brendan Damm. In the second quarter, the Saints would start to take command of the game outscoring the Cardinals 5-0 to take at 8-3 lead at intermission. The Saints would win the third quarter 2-1 to have a 10-4 lead the lone Cardinals goal would be Ryan Hubbard's second goal of the night. In the fourth quarter, the Cardinals would try to do there best but it would be too little too late as they would outscore the Saints 3-1 with goals coming from Mike Gay, Patrick Nash and Brendan Damm second of the night to make the final score 11-7. In the second quarter, the Engineers would outscore the Cardinals 4-1 and take a 6-4 lead into the break getting the lone goal for the Cardinals would be Ryan Callahan. When the teams would return for the second half the Engineers would win the third quarter 3-1 and have a 9-5 lead the Cardinals goal would come from Joey Kromer. In the fourth quarter, there would only be one goal scored by the Cardinals Patrick Nash.
