SUNYAC Men's Hockey #8 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs #4 Oswego State Lakers November 19th 2016
Plattsburgh State's Ayrton Valente (15) with the in-zone faceoff win for the shot on net. It would be a top 10 matchup as rivals #8 Plattsburgh State Cardinals host the #4 Oswego State Lakers in SUYAC play. The Lakers would take the 1-0 lead 11 minutes into the first period on David Ferriera goal. The Cardinals would come back and tie the game at one Cole Stallard's goal at the 14-minute mark of the first. Then just over a minute later the Lakers would regain the lead at 2-1 on the powerplay goal from Andrew Barton. Then in the remaining two periods, the Lakers would get a single goal in each to secure the 4-1 victory. In the losing effort, Brady Rouleau would make 34 saves as the Cardinals fall to 3-2. Gallery

ECAC West Women's Hockey #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs #9 Oswego State Lakers November 19th 2016
Plattsburgh State's Melissa Sheeran (26) slides in front of the goal and put the puck in the back of the net for the goal. It would be a clash of a pair of top 10 teams in ECAC-West action. The Cardinals would start off hot and not look back as they would get three goals in the first period from Meghan Kraus, Melissa Sheehan, and Kayla Meneghin for the 3-0 lead. In the second period, the Cardinals would add three more goals from Jordan Lipton (twice) and Katelyn Turk for the 6-0 lead. In the third period, the teams would trade a pair of goals with the Cardinal goal coming from Kayla Meneghin shorthand goal second of the night as the Cardinals would hold on for the 7-1 victory. In the winning effort, Cammie Leonard would stop 22 as the Cardinals go to 5-0 on the season. Gallery

SUNYAC Men's Hockey #8 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs Cortland State Red Dragons November 18th 2016
Plattsburgh State's Gavin Yates (12) with the toe drag around the down defender for the shot on net. The #8 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Cortland State Red Dragons in SUNYAC play. The Cardinals would get the 1-0 lead 6 minutes into the first with an Antoine Desyoners goal. The Red Dragons would tie the game on the Nico Gonazlez at the 12-minute mark. The Cardinals would regain there lead to 2-1 with 5 minutes left in the first on a power-play goal by Cole Stallard. The Red Dragons would tie the game up at 2 on Darren McCormick's goal at the 11-minute mark. In the final four minutes of the second period, Pat Egan gives the Cardinals the 3-2 lead on the power play. Then five minutes into the third period Kyle Hall scores for the Cardinals to give them a 4-2 lead. In the closing seconds of the game, the Red Dragons would get a goal as the Cardinals secure the 4-3 lead. In the winning effort, Brady Rouleau would make 24 saves on the night as the Cardinals go to 3-1 on the season. Gallery

Chateaugay Bulldogs Vs Argyle Scots New York State Class D Quarterfinals November 12th 2016
Chateaugay's Grace Harrigan (22) with the backward tip at the net for the point. It would be the quarterfinals of the New York State Class D Tournament featuring the Chateaugay Bulldogs and Argyle Scots. The Bulldogs would fall in four sets 25-13,25-15,18-25,25-16). Chateaugay Bulldogs Vs Lake Placid Blue Bombers New York State Class D First Round November 9th 2016
Chateaugay's (2) at the net with the spike down the line for the point. It would be first round of the New York State Class D Playoffs and would feature the Chateaugay Bulldogs and Lake Placid Blue Bombers. The Bulldogs would need fours sets to get by the Blue Bombers (25-5,23-25,25-14,25-19. With the win the Bulldogs would advance to the Quarterfinals of the New York State Tournament and Arygle. Section VII Class B Championship: #1 Beekmantown Eagles Vs #2 Peru Indians October 29th 2016
Peru's Evan Palmer (3) with the leaping catch along the sidelines over Beekmantown's Chris Arzola (23). It would be the classic rivalry for the Section VII Class B Championship as the #1 Beekmantown Eagles would take on the #2 Peru Indians. The Eagles would fire the shoot and take the 7-0 lead after the 1st quarter. In the second quarter the offenses would come alive and combine for 35 points and the game would be deadlocked at 21 at the half. When the teams came back for the third quarter the defenses would show up as the Indians would get the only score to take a 28-21 into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the Peru Indians would outscore the Eagles 13-8 and secure the 41-29 victory. In the winning effort, the Peru Indians advance to the New York State playoffs and will take on the Potsdam Sandstoners in the first round. Gallery

Section VII Class C Championship: #1 Saranac Lake Red Storm Vs #3 Saranac Chiefs October 29th 2016
Saranac's Logan Matthews (10) with the diving interception to take a touchdown away from Saranac Lake's Joe Viscardo (6). In the Section VII Class C Championship, it would be a battle of the Saranac's as the Saranac Lake Red Storm would battle with the Saranac Chiefs. The Red Storm would jump out to the 13-0 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Chiefs would score on an Issac Garman touchdown to make it 13-7 at the intermission. In the third quarter, the Red Storm would regain the 12 point lead at 19-7. In the fourth quarter, the Chiefs would not go quietly as they would start off with a safety to make it 19-9. Then they score with about 4 minutes left on a Sean Ahern touchdown to make it 19-16. That is where the game would finish as the Saranac Lake Red Storm secure the victory and advance to the New York State Playoffs and will play the Ogdensburg Blue Devils. Gallery

Section X Class Championship #1 Chateaugay Bulldogs Vs #2 Edwards-Knox Cougars October 27 2016
Chateaugay's Grace Harrigan (33) with the tip at the net for the point. It would be the #1 Chteaugay Bulldogs and #2 Edwards-Knox Cougars for the Section X Class D Chanpionship. The Bulldogs would get the straight sets victory in just over 45 minutes 25-16 25-7 and 25-5. With the win the Bulldogs win there 11th straight Setion X title, With the win the Bulldogs advance to the New York State Playoffs and will take on the Section VII champion in the first round. Section X Class D Semi-Finals #1 Chateaugay Bulldogs Vs #4 Brushton-Moria Panthers October 25th 2016
Chateaugay's spiker waiting for the ball to drop for the smash. It would be the semi-finals of the Section X Class D semi-finals as the #1 Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the #4 Brushton-Moria Panthers. The bulldogs would have to work somewhat hard for the victory. Although the Bulldogs would still get the straight-sets to victory by scores of 25-17, 25-20, 25-22. With the win, the Bulldogs go to 14-3 on the season and will play #2 Edwards-Knox for the Championship. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference: Class C Semi-Finals #2 Ausable Valley Patriots Vs #3 Saranac Chiefs October 21st 2016
Saranac's Johnny Devins (22) with the run up the middle for the game winning score. It would be Week 8 of the Champlain Valley Atheltic Conference season and Semi-Finals of Class C pitting #2 Ausable Valley Patriots and #3 Saranac Chiefs. It would be an evenly matched game through the great equalizer the rain there would be no score after the first quarter. The Saranac Chiefs would take a 6-0 lead into half on a QB sneak by Johnny Maye with 5 minutes left in the half. In the third quarter with 8 minutes left the Ausable Valley Patriots would tie the game up at 6 on a Tyler Atkins run. The game would remain there through regulation. They would go into overtime tied at six. In that overtime the Chiefs would score on a short run by Johnny Devins on there first possession to secure the win and advance to the Class C finals against the Saranac Lake Red Strom. Gallery
