It would be the opening Round of the NYSPHSAA Class C Football Tournament and it would feature the #14 Saranac Spartans hosting the #18 Gouverneur Wildcats from Plattsburgh High School in the North Country Super Bowl for the right to head to the quarterfinals and meet up with a team from Section II. It would be a defensive first half and the teams would be looking for the first score of the game. The Spartans would break through with the first score of the game with 28 seconds left in the half on the Zander Daniels 7-yard pass strike to give the Spartans the 7-0 lead as they ended the first half. The game would stay there till the opening minute of the fourth quarter when Nathan Hamel would hit a 32-yard field goal to take the 10-0 lead. The Wildcats would get on the board finally at the 5:37 mark of the quarter on the Raine Rumble 3-yard pass and make it a 10-7 game. The Wildcats would keep fighting and capture the lead with 20 seconds left in the game on Raine Rumble's 11-yard pass and score. Although the Spartans wouldn't go quietly as they would have a chance to force overtime on a 40-yard field goal attempt it came up short. With the win the Gouverneur Wildcats advance to the quartersfinals next week and go to 8-1 on the season while the Spartans season will come to an end at 8-2. Gallery

It would be the Section X Class D Championship as the #1 seeded Chateaugay Bulldogs would face the #2 seeded Madrid Waddington Yellow Jackets. The Bulldogs would get a challenge from the Yellow although it would not be enough as the Bulldogs would win in straight sets 3-0 (25-14,25-15,25-20). With the win, the Bulldogs go to the State Playoff tournament starting next week as they play the winner from Section II.Gallery

The Bulldogs would get the straight sets victory in just over 45 minutes 25-16 25-7 and 25-5. With the win the Bulldogs win there 11th straight Setion X title, With the win the Bulldogs advance to the New York State Playoffs and will take on the Section VII champion in the first round. The bulldogs would have to work somewhat hard for the victory. Although the Bulldogs would still get the straight-sets to victory by scores of 25-17, 25-20, 25-22. The matchup would feature the #1 Chateaugay Bulldogs and the #4 Brushton-Moria Panthers. It would be a matchup that the Bulldogs would be in complete control of and get the straight set victory (24-13, 24-6, 24-16).
