It would be a top 10 matchup as rivals #8 Plattsburgh State Cardinals host the #4 Oswego State Lakers in SUYAC play. The Lakers would take the 1-0 lead 11 minutes into the first period on David Ferriera's goal. The Cardinals would come back and tie the game at one Cole Stallard's goal at the 14-minute mark of the first. Then just over a minute later the Lakers would regain the lead at 2-1 on the powerplay goal from Andrew Barton. Then in the remaining two periods, the Lakers would get a single goal in each to secure the 4-1 victory. In the losing effort Brady Rouleau would make 34 saves as the Cardinals fall to 3-2. Gallery.

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals before the start of the game would raise there 2016 National Championship banner to the rafters. It would be a clash of a pair of top 10 teams in ECAC-West action. The Cardinals would start off hot and not look back as they would get three goals in the first period from Meghan Kraus, Melissa Sheehan, and Kayla Meneghin for the 3-0 lead. In the second period the Cardinals would add three more goals from Jordan Lipton (twice) and Katelyn Turk for the 6-0 lead. In the third period, the teams would trade a pair of goals with the Cardinal goal coming from Kayla Meneghin shorthand goal second of the night as the Cardinals would hold on for the 7-1 victory. In the winning effort, Cammie Leonard would stop 22 as the Cardinals go to 5-0 on the season. Gallery

The Cardinals would get the 1-0 lead 6 minutes into the first with an Antoine Desyoners goal. The Red Dragons would tie the game on the Nico Gonazlez at the 12-minute mark. The Cardinals would regain there lead to 2-1 with 5 minutes left in the first on a power-play goal by Cole Stallard. The Red Dragons would tie the game up at 2 on Darren McCormick's goal at the 11-minute mark. In the final four minutes of the second period, Pat Egan gives the Cardinals the 3-2 lead on the power play. Then five minutes into the third period Kyle Hall scores for the Cardinals to give them a 4-2 lead. In the closing seconds of the game, the Red Dragons would get a goal as the Cardinals secure the 4-3 lead. Section VII Class B Championship: #1 Beekmantown Eagles Vs #2 Peru Indians October 29th 2016

Peru's Evan Palmer (3) with the leaping catch along the sidelines over Beekmantown's Chris Arzola (23). It would be the classic rivalry for the Section VII Class B Championship as the #1 Beekmantown Eagles would take on the #2 Peru Indians. The Eagles would fire the shoot and take the 7-0 lead after the 1st quarter. In the second quarter the offenses would come alive and combine for 35 points and the game would be deadlocked at 21 at the half. When the teams came back for the third quarter the defenses would show up as the Indians would get the only score to take a 28-21 into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the Peru Indians would outscore the Eagles 13-8 and secure the 41-29 victory. In the winning effort, the Peru Indians advance to the New York State playoffs and will take on the Potsdam Sandstoners in the first round. Gallery
