American Legion's Mark Golden with the leaping catch across the middle for the first down. The American Legion/SL Trucking would meet up with the Northeast Monsters in week 6 of the North Country Flag Football League. It would be a defensive battle in the first half and the American Legion would take the slim 6-0 lead at the break. In the second half, both teams offenses would walk up and American Legion would win the half 13-6 and secure the 19-6 victory. In the winning effort, American Legion/SL Trucking would go to 6-1 while the Northeast Monsters would fall to 0-7. Gallery

Saranac Chiefs Vs Ausable Valley Patriots JV Game October 25 2014

Saranac's Brandon Velie (3) with the reception in the endzone for the score as he rips the ball out of the defender's hands and holds on for all he's got. The Saranac Chiefs (JV) would host the Ausable Valley Patriots (JV) in the last JV game of the season. The Patriots would take the 6-0 lead after the first quarter and hold on till late in the second quarter when the Chiefs would get on the board with a Johnny Devins touchdown to tie it at 6 at halftime. When the teams would come back for the second the Patriots would come to play and score three scores to make it 28-6. In the fourth quarter, the teams would trade sores including the big catch in the endzone by Saranac's Brandon Velie for the score as he rips it from the defender's hand. In the end, though the Patriots would get the 34-12 victory and finish the undefeated season at 8-0 while the Chiefs finish at 0-8. Gallery.

Saranac's Mason Martin (42) extends the ball out and over the line for the touchdown. The #2 Saranac Chiefs would host the #3 Ausable Valley Patriots in Champlain Valley Atheltic Conference Class C Semi-finals. These two evenly matched teams would be scoreless until the second quarter when Patriots Jimmy Kelly would score to make it 7-0 Patriots. The game would stay there until 7 minutes left in the 4th quarter when Chiefs Mason Martin would score and they would get the two-point conversion and take an 8-7 lead. Then on the ensuing Patriots drive two questionable calls would lead to the Patriot's good field position and Jimmy Kelly would score from the one-yard line with 25 seconds left on the clock to give the Patriots 14-8 victory. In the winning effort, the Patriots advance to next week's championship game against Saranac Lake Chiefs while the Saranac Chiefs season comes to end at 2-6. Gallery

Elizabethtown/Westport Griffins would defeat NAC Bobcats 2-1 in MVAC action. In the first half, Joel Morris(9) - Griffins - would score at 12:51 assisted by Isaiah Turner(3) to give the Griffins a 1-0 lead. Later on, in the half, Turner(3) would score at 16:32 assisted by Morris(9) to give the Griffins a 2-0 lead. NAC would get on the board by Cory Lafountain; the goal was unassisted to cut the lead to 2-1 but it wasn't enough as the Griffins would hold on and win 2-1. Westport Lady Eagles shut out Johnsburg Jaguars 3-0 in girls MVAC soccer. In the first half, Lizzie Stephens(15) - Westport - would score at 7:13 assisted by Chloe Mitchell(5) giving the Lady Eagles a 1-0 lead. Later on in the first, Taylor Gough(13) - Westport - would score at 27:15; the goal was unassisted giving the Lady Eagles 2-0 advantage. In the second half, Ellie Schwoebel(11) - Westport - scored at 49:19; the goal was also unassisted giving the Lady Eagles the 3-0 win. The Chateaugay Bulldogs pose for there team photo as they are crowned the 2014 Section X East Division Champions. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the Massena Red Raiders in Section X East Division with the two top teams in the league. The Bulldogs would get the straight-sets victory in about an hour. They would win the three games by scores of 25-22, 25-17, and 25-20. In the winning effort, the Bulldogs would finish off the undefeated season at 16-0 and be crowned the 2014 Section X East Division champions. They now move on to the Section X Class D playoffs where they will play either Edwards-Knox or Brushton-Moria in the semi-finals. Gallery.

Chateaugay's Josh Secore (6) with the header in front of the net on the corner attempt. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the St. Regis Falls Saints in Section X East Division action. The Bulldogs would strike in the 12th minute on Reid Laplante's goal to make it 1-0. Then just two minutes later Reid would strike again for his second goal to make it 2-0. Then in the 37th minute Jordan Martin for the Bulldogs would make it 3-0. The in the 38th minute Zack Cowan would score for the Bulldogs to make it 4-0 as the teams went into the intermission. When the teams back for the second half it would be more of the same as Nick Ashline would make it 5-0 in the 45th minute. Then in the 46th minute Reid Laplante would finish off the hat trick to make it 6-0. Then in the 71st minute Josh Trombley would get his first career goal to secure the 7-0 win. In the winning the Bulldog goalies would combine for the shutout as the Bulldogs go to 10-6. Gallery.

It would be week 5 of the North Country Flag Football League as it would pit the top two teams in the league the Malianakas Masonry Vs American Legion/SL Trucking. It would be a defensive game all the way through as the American Legion would take the slim 6-0 lead into the break. When the teams came back it would be the same and American Legion would scrap out another score and take the 13-0. In the winning effort, American Legion/SL Trucking would go to 5-1 while T Malianakas Masonry would drop 5-1 with three weeks left in the season. Gallery

West Side's Tevin Conners with the leaping interception in the end zone that would be returned for the touchdown. It would be week 5 of the North Country Flag Football League as the West Side Saints and Northeast Monsters would lock up in battle. It would be a game that would see both teams have trouble getting there offenses going. The game would eventually need overtime as they went into extra period still tied at zero. In the extra period, Tevin Conners for the West Side Saints would make in an interception in the endzone that he would return for the game-winning score to get the 6-0 victory. In the winning effort, the West Side Saints would go to 2-4 while the Northeast Monsters would fall to 0-6. Gallery
