Plattsburgh State's Michael Cassidy (26) with the quick wrister into the body of the goalie. The #3 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Castleton State Spartans in a nonconference game as they would welcome back former assistant Steve Moffit. The game would remain scoreless until the last two minutes of the first when Castleton's Charles Bando would give the Spartans the 1-0 lead. The Cardinals would answer back at 3:42 of the second period and tie the game at one on Michael Radisa's goal. The Cardinals would then take the 2-1 lead at 7:35 of the second the short-handed goal. The Cardinals would extend the lead to 3-1 on Graham Yeo's first college goal at 11:35. Then two minutes later Alex Jensen would get his second goal of the night for the 4-1 lead. Then at 6:26 of the third Michael Cassidy would get into the scoring act as the Cardinals take the 5-1 lead. Then in the final 30 seconds of game Alex Jensen would finish off the hat trick as the Cardinals cruised to the 6-1 win. In the winning effort, Matthieu Cardieux would 23 saves as the Cardinals go to 12-1-2. Gallery

Elizabethtown-Lewis/Westport Griffins over the Moriah Vikings 2-1 in Section 7 Girls Soccer. Ellie Storey, 15, for ELW in the 1st half at 11:32, assisted by #1 Emma Disogra. Tess Andrade, #11, for ELW in the 2nd half at 40:38, no assist was on a corner kick. Moriah would score there loan goal by Jordan Speshock, 24, at 71:08 assisted by Juliette Becker, 18. The Griffins had 16 shots on goal, 5 saves, 6 corner kicks, 3 fouls and 0 offsides. The Vikings had 20 shots on goal, 12 saves, 8 corner kicks, 6 foul and 4 offsides.

Plattsburgh Flag Football League: Adirondack J's Vs DB Xtreme January 18 2014

DB Xtreme's Ryan Kneussle waits on the ball for the wide-open touchdown. In-game two of the eighth and final week of the season, Adirondack J's would meet up with the DB Xtreme. The Adirondack J's would get on the board first on Craig Livsey touchdown in the 4th minute. In the 10th minute, the Adirondack J's would extend the lead to 15-0 on Doroucher's touchdown. The DB Xtreme would get on the board in the 13th minute to cut the lead to 15-7. In the 16th minute, Adirondack J's DJ Barber would make it a 21-7 game on the touchdown. The DB Xtreme would cut the lead in half again at 21-13. Then with four minutes left in the first Adirondack J's Bushey would score to give the J's the 29-13 lead at the break. In the second half, the DB Xtreme would outscore them 4-2 but it would not be enough as the Adirondack J's would hold on for 44-41 win. With the win, the Adirondack J's secure the second seed in the playoffs next week. Gallery

Malone's Connor Gallagher (32) with the baby hook over the defender. The Malone Huskies would meet up with the Peru Indians at the Plattsburgh State Field House as part of the Section 7/10 Challenge. It would be defensive first half with the Huskies having the low scoring 23-20 lead at the break. In the second half, the Peru offense would come alive and be too much the Huskies to deal with as the Indians win the half 37-23. With the half going to the Indians by such a big margin they would get the come from behind win 57-46. In the losing effort for the Huskies Connor Gallager would lead the team with 12 points.
