Plattsburgh's Nick Clookey (99) with the save on Peru's Spencer Davies (3) to give the Hornets the crown in penalty kicks. It would be the Section Class A Boy's Soccer Championships from Northeastern Clinton as the #1 seeded Plattsburgh Hornets would meet up with the #2 Peru Nighthawks for the right to head to the state tournament. The Nighthawks would get the opening goal of the game just seven minutes into the game from Seanen Edwards for the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there all the way to the 61st minute of the game when the Hornets would fight back and tie the game at one on the Andrew Bula goal. That is where the game would through the rest of regulation along with the 30 extra minutes of the overtime session and there would be no winner. From there the game would head to penalty kicks and it would take to the eighth round before we had a winner. When the Hornets get the win they advance to the NYSPHSAA Class A Tournament and in the first round will face the Massena Red Raiders from Section X. In the winning effort, Nick Clooney would make 7 saves on the night and Connor Perrotte would have 6 on the night. Gallery

The Plattsburgh Hornets would be crowned the 2023 Section VII Class A Boy's Soccer champions. It would be the Section Class A Boy's Soccer Championships from Northeastern Clinton as the #1 seeded Plattsburgh Hornets would meet up with the #2 Peru Nighthawks for the right to head to the state tournament. It would be a late-season contest inside the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference from the Beekmantown Central School as the Eagles would host the Peru Nighthawks in Boys Soccer action. It would be a very evenly matched contest between a couple of good teams that would see the Eagles have the shot-on-net advantage by a count of 8-4. This game would need more than regulation time to decide the winner as the score would be deadlocked with no score as they would play the needed 80 minutes. In the extra time, the Eagles would finally get the needed goal from Ian McCasland for the 1-0 win. With the win the Beekmantown Eagles would finish off their regular season with a 8-5-1 record while the Nighthawks finish the season at 9-4-1 and now both teams will look forward to the upcoming playoffs. The Beekmantown Eagles celebrate their overtime game-winner that came in the 85th minute from Ian McCasland and send the home crowd home happy. it would be a late-season contest inside the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference from the Beekmantown Central School as the Eagles would host the Peru Nighthawks in Boys Soccer action. The Peru goalkeeper Connor Perrotte comes in with the diving attempt on the ball and covers it up to stop Hornet's goal attempt. It would be a mid-week affair in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Soccer action as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host their neighbors and rival Peru Nighthawks in the second meeting of the season. As the Nighthawks would win the first meeting of the season earlier in the season at home by a 3-2 score the Hornets would be looking for revenge. The Hornets would get the opening goal of the game from #10 just 15 minutes into the game with the help of number #3 to give the Hornets the 1-0 lead. Then with just over five minutes left in the first half, the Hornets would extend their lead to 2-0 on a goal by #17 that he would get off the rebound from his own penalty kick. That is where the game would stay as defense would be the name of the game in the second half. With the win, the Hornets go to 5-5-2 as they head into their next game against Beekmantown on October 10th. It would be the classic rivalry in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Soccer as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Peru Nighthawks. The host Hornets would get the opening goal of the game as they would take the 1-0 Momin Khan would score in the 18th minute. Then in the final two minutes of the half the Hornets would extend there lead 2-0 on Owen Mulligan. When the teams came back for the second half the Hornets would strike again in the 51st minute to take a 3-0 lead on Owen Mulligain's second goal of the game. Then in the 62nd minute the Hornets would put the finishing touches on the game as Momin Khan would beat the goalie again and take the 4-0 lead and from there the Hornets would on for the win. The Knights get there third goal of the game to retake the two goal lead in the closing stages of the game to secure the victory. It would be a interleague tilt as the Seton Catholic Knights from the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference would host the Saranac Lake Red Storm from the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference in Girl's Soccer action. The game would start off good for the Knights as they would get two unaswered in the first half and take a 2-0 lead into the break. In the second half the teams would trade a pair of goals. With that the Seton Catholic Knights would hold for the 3-1 victory. In the winning effort the Knights would get there first win of the season at 1-2 while the Red Storm fall to 2-3 on the season. Plattsburgh's Nate Baker (2) steps in front of Peru's Collin Powers (11) with the header to breakup the Nighthawk attack. We would have a special edition tonight as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Peru Nighthawks in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference JV action. The home Hornets would get off to a quick start as they would score in the third minute of the game from Luca Meyers and take the 1-0 lead. Then in the tenth minute the Hornets would extend there lead to 2-0 as Luca Meyers would strike again. In the 16th minute the Nighthawks would cut the lead in half and make it a one goal game again on the goal from Collin Powers. Then in the 34th minute the Hornets would regain the two goal lead on the hat trick goal from Luca Meyers.
