The Schroon Lake Wildcats would be crowned the 2024 Section VII Class D Champions with their 63-55 double-overtime victory over the Crown Point Panthers. It would be the fourth game of the day and seventh game of championship weekend and it would be for the Class D Boy's title it would feature the #1 Crown Pont Panthers and the #4 Schroon Lake Wildcats as they battle in the rematch of last years title which was also a thriller. The game would be starting well for the top-seeded Crown Point Panthers as they would jump out to the big lead at 20-8 after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Wildcats would start their chargeback with a 15-8 quarter but the Panthers would still have the 30-23 advantage as they headed into the intermission period. When the teams returned for the third quarter defense would be the name of the game as the Wildcats would have a slim advantage of 8-7 for the quarter and the Panthers would still hold the lead at 37-31. When the teams went into the fourth quarter the Wildcats would leave everything out there and tie the game at 41 with a 10-4 quarter and they would even have a shot at the end to win it regulation but the game would head to overtime. In the overtime frame, the teams would trade baskets back and forth and a second overtime would be needed but in the second overtime, the Wildcats would get control and win the overtime 19-11 get the 63-55 victory, and be crowned the 2024 Class D Section VII champions. It would be an interconference matchup inside section seven boys' basketball this Saturday afternoon as the Plattsburgh Hornets would be one of the top teams in the section this year the Crown Point Panthers. The bigger Plattsburgh Hornets would leave little to the imagination on this day as they would have their way with the Panthers in the first half and have a 47-19 lead at the break. When the teams returned for the third quarter it would be more of the same as the Hornets would have a 27-15 quarter and take a 74-34 lead into the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Hornets would empty the bench and get everyone in the game and the Panthers would win the quarter 16-10 but on the scoreboard, it would be all Hornets on this afternoon with an 84-51 victory. In the winning effort, the Hornets would improve to 10-8 on the season and the Panthers would fall to 12-5 as both teams are coming down the playoff stretch and are looking forward to the sectionals. It would be the last game of the championship Sunday from Clinton Community College as this would be for the Class D Section VII title and we would have the #1 Schroon Lake Wildcats and the #2 Crown Point Panthers. It would be tight through the first quarter but the #2 Crown Point would have the upset in mind as they would have the 16-13 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the game would stay tight as neither team would be able to get on a sustained run but the Wildcats would win the quarter 16-13 and the teams would go into the break tied at 29. When the teams would return for the third quarter the game would stay tight but the Wildcats would get a bit of separation with a 13-9 quarter and take a 42-38 lead into the fourth. In that fourth quarter, the Wildcats would just have too much leave down the stretch for the Panthers as they would win the quarter 17-12 and get the 59-50 victory. With the win, the Schroon Lake Wildcats will advance to the NYSPHSAA Class D Tournament and will face North Warren from Section II for the right to go to the final four at the Cool Insuring Arena in Glens Falls. It would be the second game of the day at the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic as the Seton Catholic Knights would meet up with the Crown Point Panthers. It would look like a couple of evenly matched teams through the first quarter as the Panthers would have the slim 11-9 lead. In the second quarter, the Panthers would show their might with a 16-8 quarter and take a 27-17 lead into the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Knights would start to make their comeback as they would win the quarter 14-12 but still trail 39-31 as they headed to the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Knights would step up their defense and have a 10-2 quarter and force the overtime tied at 41. In that overtime it would be tight throughout as the Panthers would win 7-5 and get the 48-46 victory. In the winning effort, the Panthers went 1-1 at the Holiday Classic and are 7-1 on the season as the Knights went 0-2 at the Holiday Classic and are 2-5 on the season. Gallery

It would be the third game of the day on the opening day of the 2022 Clinton Community College Holiday Classic as the Crown Point Panthers and the Boquet Valley Griffins in a rematch of last season's section vii class d finals and it would be seen way throughout the game. It would be a very even game from the start so even that it would be tied at 10 after the first quarter. In the second quarter, there still would be no separation as they would tie at twelve for the quarter and go into the intermission tied at 22. When the teams came back for the third quarter it would be seen that the Panthers had regrouped their approach and would have a 22-14 quarter and take a 44-36 lead into the final quarter. In that final quarter, it would be low scoring but the Panthers would win the quarter at 9-6 and hold on for the 53-42 victory. In the winning effort, the Panthers would now take on the Saranac Chiefs on December 28th as they would go for the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic title and go to 6-1 on the season as the Griffins fall to 3-2 on the season. When the teams came back for the third quarter 19-18 to have the 57-44 lead headed to the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Vikings would pull away and get the easy win with a 23-10 quarter and secure the 80-54 victory.
