Peru's Jon Martin (4) takes flight down the lane and lays it off the window for the score. It would be the third game of the Section 7/10 Challenge as the Malone Huskies would face off with the Peru Indians. The Huskies would job out to the 21-14 lead at the break. When the teams returned for the second half the Indians would claw the whole way and win the half 36-29 and force overtime tied at 50. In that overtime period, Malone would win it 9-4 and secure the 59-54 victory. With the loss the Peru Indians fall to 4-8 while Malone goes to 6-7 on the season. Gallery

Salmon River's Jared Bigness (20) with the jumper in close for the score. It would be the second game of the Section 7/10 Challenge featuring the Salmon River Shamrocks and the Plattsburgh Hornets. It would be a game that the Hornets would control from start to finish the hornets would lead 41-13 at the half. In the second half, it would be more of the same as the Hornets 34-22. With that the Hornets would secure the 74-35 victory go to 5-4 while the Shamrocks fall to 5-7 on the season. Gallery

NCAA Division III Men's Hockey Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs Middlebury Panthers January 13th 2017

Plattsburgh State's Cam Owens (19) with the quick wrister over the pad for the Cardinal goal. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Middlebury Panthers in nonleague action. The Cardinals would get the opening goal of the game from Anthony Fournier-Gosselin with the powerplay goal at 8:43 of the first. The Panthers would eventually tie the game back up at 1 at 4:13 of the second period. Although the Cardinals would regain the 1 goal lead 20 seconds later on the Cam Owens goal. The Panthers would tie the game back up at 8:35 of the second period. The Cardinals would answer right back 41 seconds later to take a 3-2 lead on Jakob Engvall goal. Then at 5:32 of the third period Joe Drabin would score to extend the lead to 4-2. Then in the closing minutes of the game Matt Quilty would score on the empty netter to secure the 5-2 victory. In the winning effort Brady Rouleau would make 22 saves as the Cardinals go to 7-8 on the season. Gallery

It would be a tight game through the first half as the Cardinals would hold a slim six-point lead at 55-49. In the second half though it would be a different story as turnovers would be a backbreaker for the Cardinals as they would lose the 61-38 and lose the game 110-93. In the losing effort, Jonathan Patron would lead the way with 16 points as the Cardinals fall to 6-6 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Moe Jones (10) with the underhand layup as part of an 18 point night. It would be the Plattsburgh State Cardinals hosting the Buffalo State Bengals in SUNYAC play. In the first quarter, it would be a tight one as the Cardinals take a 20-16 lead. In the second quarter, the Cardinals would extend there lead winning the quarter 25-15 and have a 45-31 lead at intermission. In the third quarter, it would be more of the same as the Cardinals win the quarter 24-10 and have a 69-41 lead. In the fourth quarter, the Cardinals would coast and lose the quarter 19-17 but hang on for the 86-60 victory. In the winning effort, Bella Despaquale would lead the way with 24 points as the Cardinals go to 6-6 on the season. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Basketball Saranac Chiefs @ Ausable Valley Patriots January 6th 2017

Saranac's Rory Patterson (2) lays it in off the window for two of his seven-point night. It would be a Champlain Valley Athletic contest featuring the Saranac Chiefs and Ausable Valley Patriots it would also be the hall of fame night in Ausable. The game would start off tight as the Patriots would hold a one-point lead after one at 15-14, In the second quarter the Patriots would open up the game-winning the quarter 22-10 and have a 37-24 lead at the intermission. During halftime of the game, the Patriots would honor there 2016 Hall of Fame class by inducting Joey Painter, Evan Mousseau, Craig Beizo, and the 1994 football team. When the teams came back out for the third quarter they would come out a little slow as the Chiefs win the quarter 8-4 but still trail 41-32. In the fourth quarter, the Chiefs would try there best to get back in the game but the deficit would be too much as they tie the quarter at 12 and fall to the Patriots 53-44. Leading the way for the Chiefs would be Nick Mathers with 25 points as the Chiefs fall to 3-7 on the season. Gallery
