Plattsburgh State's Edward Correra (4) takes flight and splits the defenders and goes to the hoop. It would be the opening round of the NCAA Tournament and the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Fitchburg State Falcons. It would be a 5 point game either way all the way through. The Cardinals would take a 37-34 lead into the halftime break. When the teams came back the Cardinals would maintain there lead until the seven minute marrk when the Falcons would take the lead and not relinquish lea. The Falcons would win the half 50-44 and secure the 84-81 victory. In the losing effort Kyle Richardson would lead the way with 26 points as the Cardinals season comes to end at 21-6. Gallery

New York State Class D First Round: #6 Chateaugay Bulldogs Vs #1 Moriah Vikings March 2 2016

Chateaugay's Jordan Martin (12) with the three from the wing with a hand in the face. It would be the opening round of Class D New York State Basketball Tournament as the #6 Chateaugay Bulldogs to Plattsburgh and take on the #1 Moriah Vikings. The Vikings would prove from start to finish of the game why they are the #1 team in the state as they would have a 17-3 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Bulldogs would do better to keep it close as it would be a 16-13 quarter and the Vikings would have 33-16 lead at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter it would be another tight quarter at 22-20 Moriah and they would maintain the lead at 55-36. In the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs would run out of gas and it would be a repeat of the first quarter at 17-3 and the Moriah Vikings would secure the 72-39 victory. In the losing effort, the Bulldogs season would come to end at 22-2 and Derek Labare would lead the way with nine points. Gallery

NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs Norwich Cadets March 2 2016

Plattsburgh State's Thomas Carlson (23) cuts and break away from the defender on the charge to the net. It would be the home opener for Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Norwich Cadets in nonconference action. The Cardinals would take control of the game early with a 7-1 lead after the first quarter with goals coming from Ryan Hubbard (2), Ryan Callahan (2), Matt Renko, Matt Prokesch, and Brendan Dam. In the second quarter, the Cardinals would extend there lead to 11-3 with goals coming from Mike Gray, Jimmy Warden, Brendan Dam (2), Ryan Callahan (2) and Ryan McCarthy. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Cardinals would win the quarter 5-0 and have a 16-3 with goals from Michael Labianca, Patrick Nash (3), and Jake Carroll. In the fourth quarter, the Cadets would get two-goal to make it look better. Although the Cardinals would get the 16-3 victory and go to 1-2 on the season and Ryan Callahan would lead the way with four goals. Gallery

SUNYAC Semi-Finals: #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs #4 Oswego State Lakers February 27th 2016

Plattsburgh State's Brady O'Quinn (27) crashes into the net hard and takes out the Oswego State goalie. It would be the classic rivalry this time in the SUNYAC Semi-Finals as the #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #4 Oswego State Lakers. It would take until the 8:15 mark of the second period until we would have a goal from Jesse Neher to give the Cardinals the 1-0 lead. The Lakers would get two goals in the remainder of the period to give the Lakers a 2-1 lead after two periods. The Cardinals Nick Belger would tie the game up at 2 at the 7:17 mark of the third period on a power play goal. Then the Cardinals would score again at the 10:09 mark from Dillan Fox to regain the lead at 3-2. Although the Lakers would get a late period goal to tie the game and send it to overtime. In that overtime Michael Radisa would score for the Cardinals at the 10:09 mark and give them the 4-3 win and send them to the SUNYAC Championship against Geneseo State. In the winning effort, Spencer Finney would make 26 saves on the night. Gallery

SUNYAC Semi-Finals #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs Oswego State Lakers February 26th 2016

Plattsburgh State's Zack Coleman (24) drives the baseline and puts it off the window for the basket. The #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #4 Oswego State Lakers in the Semi-Finals of the SUNYAC Tournament. It would be a back and forth and game all the way from start to finish tonight. The Oswego State Lakers would take a slim 39-37 lead into the intermission. When the teams would return for the second half it would be more of the same and the Lakers would win the half 42-37. It would give the #4 Oswego State Lakers the upset victory over the #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals. In the losing effort, Kyle Richardson would lead the way with 25 points. As it would set up the Cortland State Red Dragons and the Oswego State Lakers in the SUNYAC finals and leaving the Plattsburgh State Cardinals to leave their faith in the hands of the committee if they are to go the NCAA Tournament. Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Hockey Semi-Finals: Northeastern Clinton Cougars @ Beekmentown Eagles February 25 2016

Northeastern Clinton's Ryan Roberts (1) with the stick save on Beekmantown's Nathan Trombley (3) wrap around attempt. It would be a Section 7 Division 2 Semi-final matchup between #1 Beekmantown Eagles and #4 Northeastern Clinton Cougars. The upset-minded Cougars would take the 1-0 on Landon Coulombe's goal at 1:10 of the first period. The Cougars would extend there lead to 2-0 on Dayron Roberts goal at 11:31 of the first period. The Eagles would get on the board before the end of period on Hayden King at 13:15 of the period. When the teams came back for the second period the Eagles would be looking to take control of the game and they did with scoring four goals in 2:30. The four-goal scores in the period would be Nathan Hebert, Brantley Marion, Christian Wawrzynski, and Brendan Davison to a stranglehold on the game at 5-2 Beekmantown after the second period. In the third period, the Cougars would try and mount a comeback as Ian Gordon would score at 7:38 of the period to make it 5-3. The Eagles would stomp out the as they would score at 10:45 thanks to Brantley Marion (second goal of the night ) to secure the 6-3 victory. In the winning effort, the Beekmantown Eagles advance to the Section VIIChampionship next week against Lake Placid as the Northeastern Clinton Cougars season comes to an end. Gallery

SUNYAC Men's Hockey #2 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs #12 Geneseo State Knights February 20 2016

Plattsburgh State's Nick Belger (24) fights through the in-zone face-off and gets to the net. It would be the last regular-season game of the season and a battle of the top 2 SUNYAC teams as the #2 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #12 Geneseo State Knights. The Knights would get the opening goal of the game on a powerplay goal from Matt Solomann at 11:10 of the first period. The Cardinals would answer right back and tie it 1 18 seconds later on a Jesse Neher goal. Then at 13:29 of the first period, Stephen Collins would give the Knights the one-goal lead back. The Cardinals would tie the game back up again this time at two on Conor Gorman's goal at the 16:45 mark of the first period. The game would stay there all the way till the last minute of the second period when Patrick Hermans would score for the Cardinals to give them the 3-2 lead. Although the Knights would tie it at 3 in the first minute of the third period on a Pat Condon goal. The game would end up staying tied at three and the Cardinals would earn there the second tie of the weekend. In the effort, Spencer Finney would make 22 saves as the Cardinals go to 19-3-3 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Connor Gorman (11) with the shot in tight on the goalie looking for the go-ahead goal. The #2 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would play host to the Brockport State Golden Eagles. The game would remain scoreless until the 1:59 mark of the second period when Plattsburgh State's Kyle Hall would give the Cardinals the 1-0 lead. The Eagles would soar back with two-goal in a three-minute span Adian Verbeke to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead. The Cardinals would come back and tie the game up at 17:09 on Chris Taff's goal to make it 2-2. The Cardinals would regain the lead at 3-2 on the Dillan Fox goal. The Eagles would come back again and tie it at three on a Zack Slichick goal. They would go to overtime but there would be no change and the game would end in a three-all tie. Brady Rouleau would make 27 saves in the tie as the Cardinals go to 19-3-2 on the season. Gallery

Salmon River's Otto Thomas (7) fights through the breakup play and chargers to the net for the shoot. It would be a non-conference matchup as the Salmon River Shamrocks would travel to Plattsburgh and take on the #9 Beekmantown Eagles. The Shamrocks would jump out to the quick 1-0 lead on Bryton Burns's goal at 2 minutes of the first period. The Eagles would come back and tie the game at one on Kade Collins's goal. The Eagles would take a 2-1 lead on Christin Wawrzynski's goal at 13:30 of the first period. The game would remain there until 13:10 of the second period when the Eagles would extend the lead to 3-1 on Michael Parent's goal. The Shamrocks would cut the lead to 3-2 on Otto Thomas's powerplay goal at 8:43 of the third period. The Eagles would regain the two-goal lead on Hayden King's goal at 9:03 of the third. Then in the final two minutes, the Eagles would score with Matthew Maggy to secure the 5-2 victory. Gallery

The Cardinals would jump out to a 47-30 lead at the break and not look back from there. When the teams came back for the second half it would be more of the same as the Cardinals would win the half 46-32 and roll to the 93-62 victory.
