Airborne Speedway Padres Jeff Norton (8) tagged at home plate by Lyon Mountain Miners Kyle Kowalski (9) on a bang-bang play at the plate at what the time was tie game. It would be a couple of hotly contested ball games. The Miners would go on to win both games by a count of 6-5 and 14-11 F/9. In the first game the Padres would get the tying run into scoring position but were unable to get him home. Then in nightcap, it would be a slugfest that would see the Padres tie the game three different times but were never able to get that extra run and would lose 14-11 in extra innings. With the games in the books, the Miners would stay undefeated at 6-0 and the Padres would remain winless at 0-6. Gallery

Airborne Speedway Padres Jeffrey Norton (8) tags out the leaping attempt by the Cardinals to score in the late innings of game one. It was opening day in the Champlain Valley Baseball League (CVBL). As the Airborne Speedway Padres would host the Plattsburgh Cardinals in a doubleheader at Saranac High School. The opening game would be a great game that saw the Cardinals score three runs in the sixth to tie the game and forces extra innings. In the extra innings the Cardinals would get one in the top of the eighth then bottom of the innings the Padres would load the bases with no outs and then Cardinals would get a strikeout and then a double play online drive that was tattooed back up the middle as the Cardinals hold on to the 4-3 win. In the second game the Cardinals would get one in the second as that would be all the needed as they go on for the 4-0 shut out victory. With the opening weekend in the books the Padres fall to 0-2 on the season and the Cardinals have the early lead at 2-0. Gallery

Plattsburgh State Cardinals vs Norwich Cadets March 12th 2011

Plattsburgh State's Jared Dockings (#39) takes a low liner shot on the goal that got steered aside by the Norwich goaltender. In a game that would be rough and tumble throughout the Cardinals would come up on the short end of the stick losing 3-2 in overtime. Norwich would get the opening goal to take a 1-0 lead after the first. Then in the 2nd period, the Cardinals would tie it up at 1. Then just a few minutes later the Cadets would take the lead back 2-1 lead. Then in the final minute of the 2nd period, the Cardinals would tie the game back up at 2. That is where the game would stay until the Cadets got the game-winner with 2 minutes remaining in overtime on a very questionable power play. With the loss, the Cardinals season would come to end in the NCAA Quarterfinals with a final record of 20-8-1. Gallery

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals pose for there team photo after defeating the Fredonia State Blue Devils 4-1 in the SUNYAC's Finals to claim there 20th SUNYAC Championship. The Cardinals would have a 2-0 lead after the first period on goals by Eric Satim and Cody Adams (Game Winning Goal). The Cardinals would strike for two more in the 2nd period to increase there lead to 4-0 after two periods on goals by Ryan Franan and Dylan Clarke. Fredonia State would break up shut out late in the third period to finishing off the scoring. With the win, the Plattsburgh State Cardinals have earned a spot at the NCAA Tournament and will wait to see who their opponent will be. Gallery.

Plattsburgh State's Ryan Craig (11) ends up in the net with the puck as the Cardinals would score to take the 2-0 lead on the crash of the net scrambling for the loose. After jumping out to a 2-0 lead the Cardinals would need a late 3rd-period goal to send the game to overtime. Then in the overtime period with 8 minutes remaining Jason Docking would send the home crowd home happy with the game-winner of a rebound. With the win Cardinals will head to Geneseo this weekend to take on #2 Geneseo Ice Knights in the SUNYAC semi-finals. Gallery.

Plattsburgh State's Megan DiJulio (13) rocks back and fights to stay on her skates as she is crashing down on the net with the puck. Megan would help the Cardinals to the victory as she would get two goals on the evening and get an assist on the game-winning goal. The Cardinals would win the game 3-2. Although with the win and RIT beating Elmira the Cardinals would settle for #2 seed in the upcoming conference tournament as RIT would win out on the tiebreaker. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Vick Schlueter (7) drives in hard on the breakaway and would score for the Cardinals one of the their many goals on the night. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would get the convincing 9-2 victory over there north country rival the Potsdam Bears. Although they needed to wait until games were over Saturday to find out their fate in the SUNYAC playoffs. When the dust settled they will be hosting Morrisville State on February 23rd in the first round of the playoffs. Gallery.

The #13 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would get off to a slow start as they would trail 2-1 after the first period. The Cardinals would rebound though over the remaining couple periods and get three unanswered goals to get the 4-2 win over the Brockport State Golden Eagles. The Cardinals would come up short in their bid to get there the first-weekend sweep of the season as they would fall to Buffalo State 73-62.
