Airborne Speedway Padres Eric Bell (21) connects on the pitch off the end of the bat. The Airborne Speedway Padres would lose both games to the undeafted Lyon Mountain Miners 8-5 in game 1 and 12-6 in game two. It was a tough day out there for Padres that were fighting through extrication as they were losing players for different reasons throughout. The Padres would stay in both games until the late innings when the Miners would pull away with the loses the Padres fall to 2-10 and the Miners improve to 12-0.

Plattsburgh Cardinals Craig Bujold leans back to catch the pop up in foul ground behind the plate. The Cardinals would jump out to an early 5-0 lead after the first two innings that they would never give up. They would get one in the first inning and then put up a four-spot in the second inning. The Miners would chip away at the lead by getting two in the third and fourth inning. The score would remain that until the seventh when the Cardinals would get an insurance run on a sacrifice fly tp take the lead 6-4. The Cardinals would hold that lead for the rest of the game and take game 1 of the best of three series. They will look to close out the championship next weekend at Bailey Avenue.

Plattsburgh Cardinals (21) slides in safe on the stolen base as the ball would skip passing Lyon Mountain Miner's shortstop. The Cardinals would jump out to an early 5-0 lead after the first two innings that they would never give up. They would get one in the first inning and then put up a four-spot in the second inning. A couple of Fourth Ward Timberjaxxs collide as the center fielder makes the catch in the outfield. The Airborne Speedway Padres would get a couple of much-needed wins as they would go on to defeat the Timberjaxxs 10-4 and 7-2. In the first the game the Padres would actually trail early 3-1 and then would come back with 9 unanswered runs in the next few innings. The in-game two they would take the early 2-1 lead and then get five runs in the 4th innings to secure the victory. With the sweep of the Timberjaxxs, they move to 4-10 on the season get themselves out of the last place as the Timberjaxxs fall to 3-11.

The Fourth Ward Timberjaxxs runner would slide under the tag of Meron's Expos (8) on a bang-bang play at the plate after the pitch got away from the catcher and went to the backstop. The Timberjaxxs would earn the sweep of the Expos in the doubleheader in a couple of high scoring affairs at the hitter-friendly park at South Acres. The Padres would continue there losing streak which is now up to eight games with another couple of heartbreaking losses as in game one they would lose 9-6 after giving up an 8 run inning in the 6th inning. Then in game two they would come up one run short again with a 5-4 defeat in a game that saw them behind 5-0 heading into the 6th they would get two runs in the 6th and another two runs in the seventh and had the game-tying run on base.
