Plattsburgh State's Nicole Mensi (7) looking for the goal on the doorstep attempt. The #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would meet up with the William Smith Herons in ECAC West Hockey action. It would be a game that the cardinals would be in control of from start to finish. As the Cardinals would have a 6-0 lead after the first period with goals from Courtney Moriarty, Jordan Lipson (2), Mellisa Ames (2), and Bridget Baisley. William Smith would add one in the second period to make it 6-1 headed to the third period. The Cardinals would add three more in the third period from Kayla Meneghin, Julie Duquette, and Melissa Sheeran for the 9-1 victory. In the winning effort, Kassi Abbott would make 8 saves as the Cardinals go to 13-0 on the season. Gallery

It would be a non-conference affair between top ten teams as the #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #7 Middlebury Panthers. The game would remain scoreless until the first minute of the second period when Mellisa Sheeran would light the lamp to give the Cardinals the 1-0 lead. The Cardinals would extend the lead to 2-0 at the eight-minute mark Kayla Meneghain. The game would stay there till the last minute of the game when Kayla Meneghain would get her second goal of the night on the empty net. As the Cardinals would secure the 3-0 victory. In the winning effort, Cammie Leonard would make 16 saves for the shutout as the Cardinals would go to 12-0 on the season. Gallery

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals celebrate as they get a win to advance to the NCAA Division III Women's Hockey Frozen Four. It would be the quarterfinals of the NCAA Women's Hockey Division III Tournament. The Cardinal's and Shannon Stewart would get on the board first at the 7:14 mark of the first period to make it 1-0 Cardinals. The game would stay there all the way till the third period when the Cardinals would extend the lead to 2-0 on Mellisa Sheeran's power-play goal at the 8:06 mark of the period. The Cardinals would make it a 3-0 game on Bridget Bailey's goal at 10:06. The Tommies would get on the board at the 12:28 mark of the period on a power-play goal by Tori Bailey to make it 3-1. In the final minute of the game, the Cardinals would add an empty netter on Giovanna Senese's goal to secure the 4-1 victory. The Cardinals would take the 1-0 lead with 4:12 left in the first period on Caitlin Gilligain's goal. Then at the 10:23 mark of the second period, the Eagles would tie the game up at one on Johanna Eidensten's goal. Then just 12 seconds into the third period Shannon Stewart would score on the powerplay to make it 2-1 Cardinals. Then just over three minutes, the Cardinals would extend the lead to 3-1 on Melissa Sheeran's goal. Then another three minutes later Cardinal's Mia Favretto would score to make it 4-1. The Soaring Eagles would add a late goal to make it 4-2 but it would not be enough as the Cardinals would get the 4-2 win and go to 8-0-2 on the season. Gallery

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would pose for there team photo as they are crowned the 2014 Cardinal/Panther Classic Champion. It would be a battle of the top two teams in the nation for the Cardinal/Panther Classic Championship as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals and Elmira Soaring Eagles would do battle. The Cardinals would take the 1-0 lead with 4:12 left in the first period on Caitlin Gilligains goal. Then at the 10:23 mark of the second period the Eagles would tie the game up at one on Johanna Eidensten's goal. Plattsburgh State's Jordan Lipson (2) with a backhander in the 4th round of the shootout to advance to the Cardinal/Panther Classic Championship. In the semi-finals of the Cardinal/Panthers classic, we would have a battle of two of the top four teams in the nation as #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #4 Gustavus Adolphus Yellow Jackets. The Cardinals would get the lone goal of the first period just a 1:28 in on Melissa Sheeran's goal to make it 1-0 after the 1st period. Then at the 5:53 mark of the second period, the Cardinals would make it 2-0 Mia Favretto's goal. The Yellow Jackets would come back and make it 2-1 at the 10:33 mark of the second period. Then at the 17:32 mark of the second period, the Cardinals would regain the two-goal lead on Bridget Bailsey's goal to make it 3-1. Then at the 9:03 mark of the third period, the Cardinals would extend there lead to 4-1 the Andreas Zeissman goal. However, the Yellow Jackets would come charging back getting three goals in a 4-minute span to send the game to overtime tied at four. In the overtime there would be no scoring so the game would officially go down as a tie but seeing that it was a tournament they went to a shootout and the Cardinals would win it in the 4th round to head to the Championship and go to 7-0-2 on the season.
