Plattsburgh State's Camillie Leonard (31) with the pad save for one of her 30 saves on the night. It would be a battle of the top two teams in the nation for the Cardinal/Panther Classic Championship as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals and Elmira Soaring Eagles would do battle. The Cardinals would take the 1-0 lead with 4:12 left in the first period on Caitlin Gilligain's goal. Then at the 10:23 mark of the second period, the Eagles would tie the game up at one on Johanna Eidensten's goal. Then just 12 seconds into the third period Shannon Stewart would score on the powerplay to make it 2-1 Cardinals. Then just over three minutes, the Cardinals would extend the lead to 3-1 on Melissa Sheeran's goal. Then another three minutes later Cardinal's Mia Favretto would score to make it 4-1. The Soaring Eagles would add a late goal to make it 4-2 but it would not be enough as the Cardinals would get the 4-2 win and go to 8-0-2 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Ally Ross (32) with the stick on the scoring try during the shootout. In the semi-finals of the Cardinal/Panthers classic we would have a battle of two of the top four teams in the nation as #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #4 Gustuvas Adolphus Yellow Jackets. The Cardinals would get the lone goal of the first period just a 1:28 in on Melissa Sheeran's goal to make it 1-0 after the 1st period. Then at the 5:53 mark of the second period the Carddinals would make it 2-0 Mia Favretto's goal. The Yellow Jackets would come back and make it 2-1 at the 10:33 mark of the second period. Then at the 17:32 mark of the second period the Cardinals would regain the two goal lead on Bridget Bailsey's goal to make it 3-1. Then at the 9:03 mark of the third period the Cardinals would extend there lead to 4-1 the Andreas Zeissman goal. However the Yellow Jackets would come charging back getting three goals in a 4 minute span to send the game to overtime tied at four. In the overtime there would be no scoring so the game would offically go down as a tie but seeing that it was a tournament they went to shootout and the Cardinals would win it in the 4th round to head to the Championship and go to 7-0-2 on the season. Plattsburgh State's Sydeny Aveson (33) would make the glove save on the point-blank shot by Norwich's Haley Gibson (28). The 2014 NCAA Division III Women's Hockey Championship would come down just the way it should as it would be the top two teams in the country the Plattsburgh State Cardinals and Norwich Cadets. The Cadets would jump out to the 1-0 lead at the 8:30 mark of the first period on Madyson Moore's goal. The Cardinals would come right back and tie the game up at one on Bridget Bailsey's goal just 90 seconds later. The Cardinals would take the lead 2-1 on Julia Duquette's goal at 13:13 of the first. Then just about 90 seconds the Cardinals would make it 3-1 on Chelsea VanGahlan's goal. The Cardinals would strike one more time before the period ended on Bridget Bailsey's second goal of the night to make it 4-1 after the first period. In the second period, the Cardinals would keep the tempo up as Jordan Caldwell scores at 8:11 to make it 5-1 Cardinals. The Cardinals would keep it going in the third period as Chelsea VanGalhan would get her second goal of the night at 2:26 of the third to make it 6-1 Cardinals. The Cardinals would strike again at 6:58 on Jenny Kistner's goal to make it 7-1 Cardinals. Then in case, the game was in dought Jordan Caldwell would get her second of the night at 16:58 to make it 8-1. The Cadets would make the score a little better when Haley Gibson would score to make it 8-2 at 18:26. The Cardinals would answer back in the last minute on Ali Vakos goal to secure the 9-2 victory. In the winning effort, Sydney Aveson would make 37 saves on the night as the Cardinals are crowned the 2014 NCAA Champions and for the third team in team history. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Jordan Caldwell (27) came in on the breakaway and had her shoot just poked to the side to keep the game tied. In the NCAA Semi-Finals, it would be an east vs west showdown as the #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #6 St. Thomas Tommies. It would be a great game between two evenly matched teams that both would have their chances. When it was all said and down though there would just be on game scored in the game as Allison Era would light the lamp with 4:49 left in overtime on the power play to give the Cardinals the 1-0 win. In the winning effort, Sydney Aveson would get another shutout victory as she stopped all 30 shots on the night as the Cardinals advance to the National Championship against the #2 Norwich Cadets. Plattsburgh State's Sydney Aveson (33) with the blocker save that she sends to the corner as part of a 24 save night. The #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #10 Williams Ephs in the Quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament. The Williams Ephs would be looking for the upset as they would score just 1:15 into the first period on Gabrielle Vukasin goal to give the Ephs the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there till there was 1:27 left in the first and Ali Vakos would tie the game up at one. The Cardinals would make some obvious adjustments as Ali Vakos would score just 28 seconds into the second for her second of the night and give the Cardinals the 2-1 lead. Then at the 12:11 mark of the second period, Ali Vakos would finish off the natural hat trick and give the Cardinals the 3-1 lead. Then just 31 seconds into the third period Ali Vakos would strike again and have a texas hat trick for the 4-1 lead and from there the Cardinals would hold on for the win. In the winning effort, Sydney Aveson would make 24 saves on the night and the Cardinals head to the final four next weekend where they will take on St. Thomas. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Chelsea VanGalahan (15) comes on the breakaway and slides the puck by for the hat trick goal. The #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Cortland State Red Dragons in ECAC-West action going for the clean sweep. The Cardinals would pick up right where they left off last night as they would light six times in the first period. For the six goals in the period, there would be five different goal scores lighting the lamp would be Allison Era (twice), Chelsea VanGalahan, Bridget Bailsey, Jordan Caldwell, and Kathleen Turk. When the teams came back for the second period there would be no let-up in the Cardinals as they would get four more goals for 10-0 lead. The goal scores would be Giovanna Sense, Chelsea VanGalahan twice to complete the hat trick, and Maggie Kolton. The Red Dragons would get a goal in the third period to avoid the shutout. In the winning effort, Sydney Aveson would stop 18 of 19 shots as the Cardinals stay undefeated on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Shannon Stewart (18) flicks the puck in the net that lifts the water bottle up. The #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Cortland State Red Dragons in ECAC-West division action. The Cardinals would take the early 1-0 lead on Chelsea VanGlahan's goal at 1:21 of the first. The Cardinals would add one more in the first at 14:47 from Caitlin Gilligan for the 2-0 lead after the first. Then in the second period Shannon Stewart would get three straight goals at 2:57, 6:27, and 8:51 for the hat trick and give the Cardinals the 5-0 lead. Then in the last couple minutes of the second Jenny Kistner would light the lamp for the 6-0 lead. The game would stay there till the 16-minute mark of the third when Giovanna Sense would get her second of the night for the 7-0 lead. Then to finish the game Jordan Lipson would score in the final minutes for the 8-0 victory. The #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Manhattanville Valiants in non conference action at the Stafford Ice Arena. The Cardinals would get the openning goal at the 13:57 minute mark of the first period from Shannon Stewart for the 1-0 Cardinals lead. The Cardinals would extend the lead to 2-0 at the 1:43 mark of the second period on Bridget Bailsy goal. The Valiants would cut the lead in half at 3:35 of the second period on Alla Traun's goal. The Cardinals would regain the two goal lead in the final two minutes of the second on Bridget Bailsy second goal of the day for the 3-1 lead. The Cardinals would finish off the scoring Andrea Zeisman at 11:39 of the third for the 4-1 victory. In the 4-1 victory would make ten saves as the Cardinals go to 11-0-1. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Bridget Bailsy (21) comes in on the breakaway and fires a shot just high of the net. It would be a battle of top three times in the country as the #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #3 Norwich at the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena. It wouldn't take the Cardinals long to get in the scoring action as Giovanna Sense would score at the 3:10 mark of the first period for the 1-0 Cardinals lead. The Cardinals would double the lead to 2-0 at the 7:45 mark on Shannon Stewart's goal. Then at 12:48 mark of the first period, the Cardinals would end the first period scoring with Ali Vako's goal to make it 3-0 Cardinals. That is where the game would remain until the third period when Jordan Caldwel would score at the 12:40 mark for the 4-0 Cardinals lead. Then just 44 seconds later the Cardinals would score again to make it 5-0 on Giovanna Sense's second goal of the night. Then just to finish off the Cardinals would get one more in the closing seconds from Caitlin Gilligan to secure the 6-0 win. In the winning effort, Sydney Averson would stop all 27 shots for the shutout as the Cardinals go to 10-0-1 on the season. Gallery
