Josh Masterson (11x) and Josh LeClaire (7) go door to door for the 20 lap feature and change the lead 12 times throughout the feature the eventual win going to Josh Masterson. Tonight at Airborne Park Speedway it would be Haun Welding Airborne History night. The division that would be in action would be the 358 Modified, Renegades, Mini-Modified along with there newest division the Late Models in a pair of 20 laps feature. The racing would be green throughout most of the night with few cautions on the day but that didn't stop the action from heating up as there battles throughout the field in all divisions. The winners on the night would be Todd Stone in the 358 Modified, John Boutin Renegades, Dave O'Neil (2nd of the season) Mini-Modified, Late Models Bucko Branham and Josh Masterson.

The 802 and David Norcross (21) meet in the middle of the trackback to back and the 802 gets airborne. The derby would only have one heat of cars with eleven but what they lacked in numbers they made up for with the action on the track with hard-hitting action. The eventual winner on the night would be Keri Besaw in the 49q. Gallery

Peabody's Padres Vs 4th Ward Timberjaxxs May 25 2014

Fourth Ward's Cameron Hurlburt (10) tags out Peabody's Chris Markwicka (7) trying to advance to second base on a passed ball. The Peabody Padres would host the Fourth Ward Timberjaxxs in doubleheader action at Saranac in Week 3 of the Champlain Valley Baseball League season. The first game would remain scoreless until the fourth inning when the Padres would explode four runs in the inning with the big blow coming from Matt Ormsby two rbi single and take the 4-0 lead. The Padres would do it again in the fifth with two more runs playing small ball to make it 6-0. Then in the sixth inning, the Padres would add one more to secure the lead at 7-0 with some bad play in the field by the Timberjaxxs. In the seventh inning, the Timberjaxxs would avoid the shutout and get a run on the board as the Padres would get the 7-1 win. In the winning effort, Matt Rivers would go the distance striking out seven and giving up one run on three hits. With Padres Shane Perrotte would go 3-3 with an RBI. The Padres would also take the second game and go to 3-1 on the season while the Timberjaxxs falls to 0-4. Gallery

Memorial Day Military Appreciation Night Airborne Park Speedway May 24th 2014

Tim LaFountain (41) gets a little help from Pete Blaney (22b) during the closing laps of the Busch Mini-Modifieds feature. It would be Military Appreciation Night at Airborne Park Speedway and racing would be the Sportsman Modifieds, Renegades, Mini-Modifieds, and the Sportsman and 358 Modified Challenge race. Although the number of divisions would be low there would be great action out on the track with great racing especially in the Renegade and Sportsman Modified features both of them would see late race passes for the win. The winners on the night would be Mark Lamberton (Sportsman Modifieds), Jamey Begor 2nd of the season (Renegades), Duchaine (Mini-Modifieds), and Jamey Mueller 2nd of the Season (Modified Challenge). With Jamey Begor's win tonight the points in the Renegade division have really tightened up between the top 3.

Westport's James Moricette (2) slides into 3rd base as Keene's Brandon Dumas (20) is there to make the play as the Eagles defeat the Beavers 13-2 in Section VII Class D 1st Round action. The Eagles will now play in Chazy in the Quarterfinals on Friday, May 23rd. The game would be 5-2 Eagles leading going into the bottom of the 5th when John Doyle (10) would open up the inning with a walk. Then Ryan Davis (5) would reach 1st base on a fielding error by SS Warren Ashe (13) then the next 5 batters would walk: Sam Napper (25), Dylan Limlaw (22), Moricette, Brian Christian (6) and Tyrel Tryon (27). This would allow Doyle, Davis, Napper, Limlaw to score making it a 9-2 game. Then Rylan Hance (19) would strikeout with the bases loaded to get the 1st out of the inning. Then Moricette and Christian would both score on outside pitches during Thomas Mero's (4) at-bat. He would end up walking and Tyron would score on an outside pitch making it 12-2. Doyle would now be battling for the 2nd time in the inning and he would strikeout for the 2nd out of the inning. Then Davis would flyout to Keene's LF Rory Riggins (8) to end a disastrous inning for the Beavers. Pitcher Limlaw would pitch the 1st 3 innings with no hits as he picked up a complete-game win with 9 strikeouts, 3 hits, 2 walks and 1 hit batsman in the outing. Keene's Colton Venner (11) would have a bad outing as he picks up the loss by allowing 10 walks and 4 hits. On the positive, he would strike out 12 Westport batters during the outing. Gallery.

Peabody's Matt Hart (10) with the tag on Adam's Glass (20) sliding into third looking for the steal. In week two action of the Champlain Valley, Baseball League as the Peabody Padres would host the new Adam's Glass Dodgers in doubleheader action in the first game Adam's Glass Dodgers would get the 6-2 victory in extra innings with the big inning coming in the ninth when they would open up for four runs. In the second game of the doubleheader, it would be another low scoring pitchers duel as the Padres would get the 5-1 win thanks to a three-run fifth inning. With that being said the teams would get a split on the day and the Padres would start there season at 1-1 while Adam's Glass would go to 2-2 on the season. Gallery

American Canadian Tour 100 Spectacular Airborne Park Speedway May 17 2014

Ray Parent (17) beats out Jonathan Bourvette (41) to the checkered flag for the win in the ACT 100 Spectacular. It would be the second weekend of racing at Airborne Park Speedway and along with the regular racing divisions the American Canadian Tour would be in town for a 100 lapper. The ACT tour race would be the race of the night with Ray Parent win it by a nose a the strip on a late restart. In other racing action, the regular divisions some drivers had a hard getting out of the heat races as there were a few wrecks. The other feature winners on the night would be Jason Durgan in Sportsmen Modifieds, Tylor Terry in the Renegades, and Steven Bessette in the Mini-Modifieds. Next weekend there will be more racing action at the track as part of Military Appreciation Night with the Renegades, Sportsmen Modifieds, and Strictly Six in action.

Chateaugay's David Niles (4) with the tag on Brushton-Moria's Jake St Mary (7) sliding headfirst at the plate going first to home. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the #10 Brushton-Moria Panthers in Section X baseball action. It would be a long day for the Bulldogs as the Panthers would jump out to a 2-0 lead after the first. Then in the second, they would get two more runs to make it 4-0 Panthers. In the third inning, they would add another run to make it 5-0. Then in the fourth, they would add four more to make it 9-0. Then in the fifth, they would explode for six runs and put the game away at 15-0. In the winning effort, Alex Brunett would go the distance for the shutout and strike out at 11. In the losing effort, the Bulldogs would fall to 1-10 on the season. Gallery.

Malone's John Brown (2) drops down and field the ground at second and fires it over to first for the out. The Malone Huskies would host the Massena Red Raiders in section x action. The Red Raiders would get off to a quick start in the first with four runs for the 4-0 lead. The Huskies would come back in the third with three runs of there own with the big hit coming from Jordan 2 RBI single to make it 4-3. The Red Raiders would come in the top of the four with two runs to make it 6-3. From there on out the Red Raiders would hold the Huskies in check for the 6-3 lead. In the losing effort, Austin Lamay would go the distance giving up three runs on nine hits while striking out three as the Huskies fall to 7-4 on the season. Gallery.

Mark Lamberton (44), Tom Remington (54), and Eric Lauziere (28) take it third wide as they are coming off turn two during the sportsmen modified feature event. After rain would delay the start of the season by a week the fans would be treated to the start of the Airborne Park Speedway in the Econo Lodge Season Opener. There would great racing throughout the night from the heat races to the features. In what was probably the best race of the night Shawn Duquette and Lance Rabtoy would race side by side for many laps for the race lead in the Renegade 30 lap feature with the win eventually going to Shawn Duquette. In the other races on the night, Russell Duchaine would win the Mini-Modifieds, Jake Branham in the Sportsman Modified and Jessey Mueller in the 358 Modified. Next weekend at Airborne Park Speedway there will be a doubleheader of racing action on Friday night they will be having an Endro Race and Demolition Derby and then on Saturday night, they will have there regular racing featuring the ACT 100 Speculator.

Westport's (6) Brian Christian slides in safe at second base with a stolen base as the Eagles beat the Minerva-Newcomb Mountaineers 13-6 as Westport goes to 5-1 on the regular season in MVAC action. The game was a close game up until the bottom of the 4th inning where the Eagles would explode with 6 runs. It started with #2 James Moricette (1B) would walk, steals 2nd and advance to 3rd on a passed ball. #6 Christian (3B) would drive him in on a single then would steal 3rd and score on a ground out by #27 Tyrel Typhon (RF). Then #40 Chris Clarke (LF) gets a single but would get thrown out at 2nd for the 2nd out of the inning. Then #3 Thomas Mero (2B) would get a single up the middle then score from #10 John Doyle's (CF) base hit and RBI. Then he would score from an RBI hit up the middle by #5 Ryan Davis (C). Davis would steal 2nd and 3rd then #25 Sam Nopper (P) get an RBI hit up the middle. He would steal 2nd and advance to 3rd and score on 2 connective passed balls making it a 6 run inning for the Eagles. The next batter #22 Dylan Limlan (SS) would strike out looking to end the inning as Westport would score 6 runs on 6 hits to blow the game wide open 9-3 with a final score of 13-6. #25 Nopper (P) would get the win with 11 strikeouts over 7 innings and allow 6 runs on 6 hits and 5 walks. #4 Mero (2B) would go 2-3 with 3 runs, 4 stolen bases, 2 hits while reaching 1st on a fielding error, and would strikeout once. #5 Davis (C) would go 3-3 with 2 RBI, 3 runs, 6 stolen bases, 1 double, 2 singles and 1 walk. #2 Moricette (1B) would go 0-1 but had 2 walks, 3 runs, 4 stolen bases and 1 hit by a pitch for the Eagles. For the Mountaineers #, 15 Kaleb Helms (P) would go 2-3 with 2 hits, 2 runs, 1 RBI, and 1 stolen base. Gallery.

Chateaugay's (8) slides in safe at second base with the stolen base. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the Tupper Lake Lumberjacks in a doubleheader of Section X action. In the first game, the Bulldogs would jump out to a 3-0 lead after the third inning. Then in the fourth inning everything would fall apart of the Bulldogs as they would give up 6 runs and trail 6-3. The Bulldogs would get single runs in the fourth and fifth but it wasn't enough as they would fall 7-5. In the nightcap the teams would trade runs in the first to make it 1-1. In the second inning the Lumberjacks would strike big again scoring seven times to make it 8-1. Then in the third, the teams would trade runs again and fall 9-2. With the pair of losses, the Bulldogs fall to 1-6 on the season. Gallery.

Chateaugay's Rachel Young (3) in the whind up deliveries the strike for one of her 9 strikeouts on the day. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the Tupper Lake Lumberjacks in a doubleheader of Section X action. In the opening game the Bulldogs jump out quick getting three in each of first two innings and take a 6-0 lead. The game would stay there until the 4th when they would get two more for the 8-0. In the nightcap, the Bulldogs would cruise to victory with the 14-0 win. With the Bulldogs sweeping the doubleheader they back even on the season 4-4. Gallery

The Huskies would take the 3-0 lead in the third inning with the help of Anna Sharlows RBI single. The Huskies would add another run in the fourth to make it 4-0 on Erin McDonald's RBI single. Then in the fifth, they would extend the lead to 6-0 with two runs with the help Janelle Headen's RBI single. Malone's Abe Gravell (12) with the diving catch on the looper over the mound. The Malone Huskies would host the Salmon River Shamrocks in section x action. The Huskies would take the 1-0 lead in the first on Abe Gravell's sacrifice fly. In the second inning, the Huskies would break the game wide open with a seven-run inning to make it 8-0. Then they would keep it going in the third and score four more runs and extend the lead to 12-0. The Shamrocks would avoid the shutout in the fifth to make it 12-1. Although the Huskies would answer back in the bottom of the inning to make it 13-1 to secure the victory. In the winning effort, John Brown would get the win as he went three innings striking out two and giving up two hits as the Huskies go to 3-2 on the season. Gallery.

Neil Martin (9) and Dale O'Neil on the parade laps before the mini-modified heat race. It would be the Econo Lodge season opener at Airborne Park Speedway. The racing was scheduled to start at 5pm but rain would fall off and one throughout the evening delaying action. The Airborne Park Speedway staff would do there best to dry the track and on two separate occasions they would have the track dried and ready to go only to have the rains come again. So there would be no racing on this given night and season will get started next Saturday night May 10 with the KD Trailer Sales Fan Appreciation Night race time scheduled for 5 pm.

Westport Eagle's James Moricette (2) slides home, with the winning run, on a passed ball in the bottom of the 8th inning as the Eagles beat the Keene Beavers 5-4 in 8 innings in MVAC baseball action. The bottom of the 8th inning started with Moricette leading off with a base hit. He would steal second and third base. Brian Christian (6) would walk to have a 1st and 3rd situation with no outs. Christian would steal 2nd with no throw made and Tyler Tryon (27) and Ryan Hance (19) would strikeout to have a 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs and the leadoff hitter was up. Thomas Mero (4) would be batting when pitcher Jesse Summer (24) would throw a passed ball and allow for Moricette to score winning the game. 1st Baseman Moricette would go 1-3 in the game with 4 SB and reaching 1st on a throwing error and a dropped third strike. Center fielder John Doyle (10) would go 2-4 with 3 SB, 1 2B, and would strike out twice for the Eagles. The Beavers 2nd Baseman Colton Veneer (11) would go 2-4 with a pair of hits and a pair of stolen bases. He would strike out twice in the game. For the Eagles pitcher, Dylan Liaslan (22) would pitch 6 strong innings with 9 K and would end up with a no-decision in the game. For the Beavers pitcher Summer would pitch 8 innings with 13 strikeouts, one walk in a loss. Gallery.

Peru's Connor Casey (11) slides in safe at the plate as Malone's Alex Garvell (12) goes flying over the top on the high throw. The Malone Huskies would host the #11 Peru Indians in non-league action. The Indians would take the 1-0 lead in the second inning when Connor Casey would score on the wild pitch. Although the Huskies would come right back in the bottom of the inning and score fours on one play as the Indians would through the ball around like a hot potato and take a 4-1 lead. The Indians would come back in the third inning and get one on Mitch Cunningham RBI single to make it 4-2. Although the game would not get any closer and the Huskies would have some great defense and secure the 4-2 victory. In the winning effort, Malone's Alex Johnson would go four innings of shutout ball will striking out four and giving up one hit in the win as the Huskies go to 2-2 on the season. Gallery.
