Plattsburgh's Nate Baker with the tag at second base for the out on the would-be Red Strom base stealer. It would be the semi-finals of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class B playoffs and the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the #3 Saranac Lake Red Storm at the Plattsburgh Athletic Complex. The road Red Storm would have upset on their mind early as they would get out to the early 2-0 lead in the first on a two-rbi single by Strack. In the bottom of the second inning, the Hornets would get on the board with a fielder's choice by Jake Calkins to make it a 2-1 game. Then in the bottom of the third, the Hornets would tie the game at two on a rbi single from Jace Lacey. The game would stay there all the way till the fifth inning when the Hornets would explode for a seven-run inning led by a bases-clearing triple by Trenton Griffiths to at the time give the Hornets an 8-2 lead as the Hornets would get one more run later in the inning to have a 9-2 lead after five. The Red Strom would keep fighting though as they would get a run in the sixth on a sac fly by Strack to make it a 9-3 game. Then in the seventh the Red Strom would keep coming as they would get two more on back-to-back rbi singles from Darrah and Rivers but their comeback bid would come up short as the Hornets would get the 9-5 win. In the winning effort, Trenton Griffiths would go six innings and give up just three runs on six hits while striking out at seven as the Hornets will advance to the Section VII Class B Finals against the Beekmantown Eagles who upset the #1 Peru Nighthawks at Chip Cummings Field on May 25th. Westport's James Moricette (2) slides into 3rd base as Keene's Brandon Dumas (20) is there to make the play as the Eagles defeat the Beavers 13-2 in Section VII Class D 1st Round action. The Eagles will now play in Chazy in the Quarterfinals on Friday, May 23rd. The game would be 5-2 Eagles leading going into the bottom of the 5th when John Doyle (10) would open up the inning with a walk. Then Ryan Davis (5) would reach 1st base on a fielding error by SS Warren Ashe (13) then the next 5 batters would walk: Sam Napper (25), Dylan Limlaw (22), Moricette, Brian Christian (6) and Tyrel Tryon (27). This would allow Doyle, Davis, Napper, Limlaw to score making it a 9-2 game. Then Rylan Hance (19) would strikeout with the bases loaded to get the 1st out of the inning. Then Moricette and Christian would both score on outside pitches during Thomas Mero's (4) at-bat. He would end up walking and Tyron would score on an outside pitch making it 12-2. Doyle would now be battling for the 2nd time in the inning and he would strikeout for the 2nd out of the inning. Then Davis would flyout to Keene's LF Rory Riggins (8) to end a disastrous inning for the Beavers. Pitcher Limlaw would pitch the 1st 3 innings with no hits as he picked up a complete-game win with 9 strikeouts, 3 hits, 2 walks and 1 hit batsman in the outing. Keene's Colton Venner (11) would have a bad outing as he picks up the loss by allowing 10 walks and 4 hits. On the positive, he would strike out 12 Westport batters during the outing. Gallery.

Beekmantown's Austin Bradish(12) makes contact on the heater and sends it to the outfield for a base hit. The Beekmantown Eagles would host the Schlamont Sabres in the opening round of the New York State Class B Playoffs. The game would be pitching duel through the first four innings with only four hits combined by the teams. The Eagles would actually strike first to take a 1-0 lead. Then at the top of the 5th, the Sabres bats would come alive and the Eagles defense would fall to execute some plays and the Sabres would strike for 6 runs and have a 6-1 lead. The Eagles would try there best to get back in the game in the bottom of the inning as they would score two to make it 6-3. Then in the seventh inning, the Sabres would put the final touches of the game as they would score four more runs and secure the 10-3 victory. With the defeat, the Eagles season would come to an end as they finish the season with a record of 18-4. Gallery
