Store Tavern's Jason Favaro (3) with the stop at second fires onto first for the out. The #7 Store Tavern would meet up with the #2 Adirondack Archery/Wendell's in the quarterfinals of the Adirondack Slow Pitch Softball League. The teams would trade runs in the first inning and be tied at two. In the third inning, Adirondack Archery would score three runs and take a 5-2 lead. Although at the top of the fourth the Store Tavern would come back and score four runs to take a 6-5 lead. Then would the bottom of the fourth where Adirondack Archery would score eight runs and take a 13-6 lead. The score would stay there till the seventh when the Store Tavern would try and make a last inning comeback that would fall short and Adirondack Archery would hold on for the 13-10 victory. With the victory, Adirondack Archery would take a 2-0 lead in the five-game series. Gallery

The #4 Adirondack Archery would meet up with the #5 Store Tavern in game one of the Quarterfinals of the Adirondack Slow Pitch Softball League. The teams would trade runs in the first and the game would be tied at two. Adirondack Archery would break the game open in the third with 5 runs to take the 7-2 lead. They would add some insurance runs later in the game to secure the 11-3 victory Gallery

The Fourth Ward Cardinals pose for there team photo as they are crowned the 2014 Champlain Valley Baseball League champions. The Fourth Ward Cardinals would meet up with the Meron's Expos in the 2014 Champlain Valley Baseball championship. The Fourth Ward Cardinals would be in total control from start to finish as they would win the first game 10-7. Although that score would be closer then it would appear as the Cardinals had a 10-1 lead going into the last inning. Then in second game there would be little doubt throughout the game as they would get the 16-3 victory and be crowned the 2014 Champlain Valley Baseball League champions. Gallery.

Jason Drugan (17) would give a bump to Jamie LaFountain (20) as they would battle for the lead in the Sportsman Modified Feature. It would be the Huntley Trucking/Liquor and Wine Warehouse Run Wild Night at Airborne Park Speedway where the 358 Modified could add wings and anything else they wanted. Also as a special attraction, there would be Spectator Races and an Endro Race. As for the main races on the card Pete Blaney would win the Mini-Modifieds, Josh Terry would get a very emotional Renegade victory, Nick Heywood would win the Sportsman Modified and Leon Gonyo wins the 358 Modifieds. There would lot tight racing throughout the night and few wrecks with the biggest one being Jessey Mueller meeting the turn one wall rather rudely. All the feature races would see the second place chasing down the leader and coming up just short on getting the victory. Next weekend will be the place points event for the season and Champions will be crowned.

Timberjaxx's Dalton Demarco (11) with the diving catch in left field to rob a base hit. The Fourth Ward Cardinals would meet up the Fourth Ward Timberjaxxs in the semi-finals of the Champlain Valley Baseball League playoffs. The Timberjaxxs would take a quick 3-0 lead over the first two innings with a pair in the first and a single in the second. The Cardinals would get on the board with a single run in the fourth inning to make it 3-1. Then would come the game-changer what was thought nothing major at the time a two-strike one out missed check swing that was missed gave the Cardinals new life and would score four runs after that missed call and would end up giving them a 5-3 victory. With the victory, the Cardinals would advance to the championship against the Meron's Expos. Gallery.

Plattsburgh North Stars Vs Glove City Colonials August 16 2014

Plattsburgh's BJ Godfrey (71) and Greg Archer (55) with gang tackle for the sack on the Glove City quarterback. The Plattsburgh North Stars would meet up with the Glove City Colonials for week 6 of the Empire Football League season. The North Stars would jump out to a quick 14-0 lead in the 1st quarter on a touchdown by Harry Rascoe and interception by Brandon St John. In the second quarter, they would score twice more on a punt return by Jim Carlson and a running touchdown by Elija Parks for the 26-0 lead at the break. In the second half, it would be more of the same as they would get a pair of touchdowns to secure the 39-0 victory. With the win, the North Stars go to 5-1 on the season. The North Stars are now off till September 6th when they travel to Glenns Falls. Gallery.

Truck Derby, Rollover and Figure 8 Races August 10 2014

Jacob St. Mary (54J) would hit the ramp and get air and do a complete roll and land back on his wheels. It would be a new wrinkle at the Franklin County Fair as they would have truck demolition derby, rollover contest, and figure 8 races. It would be another packed house to see all the racing and smashing. There would be around 30 trucks, 6 rollover cars, and 8 figure 8 cars. The big winners on the day would be Jamie St. Mary in the Figure 8 Races, Jacob St. Mary in the rollover contest. The crowd would be very pleased with the show and are looking forward to its return next year. Gallery

The Hulk and Jonathan Zak would take it over 360' feet to win the Pro Stok Trucks A class and would come back and win the B with 370 feet. The Adirondack Truck & Tractor Pullers would bring there show north of the border for the second straight year to the fair in Huntingdon, Quebec. There would be 13 classes on the day in the Street Legal Trucks, Stock Tractors, Altered Stock Tractors and Pro Stock 4x4 Trucks divisions. There would be lots of very good pulls on the sticky clay track. On the other hand there would be some breakage on the night as street trucks would tear driveshafts all day long. Gallery

The Ghost Rider would carry the front wheels down the track and digs in around 290 in the Super Stock Tractor class. The Quebec Tractor Pullers would make there return to the Huntingdon Fair. They would have six classes on the night with the Semi Trucks, Modified 4x4 Trucks Super Stock Tractors, Two Wheel Drive Trucks, Mini Modifieds, and Modified Tractors. With there whole show there would be around 60 hooks and the guys were getting great traction on super tacky track and everyone is looking forward to the pull again next season.Gallery

It would be the third and final day of racing at the Franklin County Fair and there would be another 10 races on the day with all races being dash races. There would be ten races on the day paying out a total of 25,000 dollars throughout the day. The big winner on the day would be Harold Smith. Gallery

Travis Charleson (31) puts a shot on the back of the 30 and gets under it raises her up and puts over on the driver side. It would be the second night of demolition derby action at the Franklin County Fair in Malone a part of the Total Destruction Promotion Series. There would be four heats of compact cars one heat of Powder Puff and Full-Size cars there would be around 75 cars on the night. There would be a lot of hard-hitting with an extra room that was out on the track and two cars would end up on their roofs throughout the night. The big winners on the night would be Jamie St. Mary in the full-size class and Travis Charleson in the Compact class and both would take home 1,000 dollars for the win. Rene Bourdeau and his International 1466 have the front wheels pointed towards the sky during the 11,000lb Altered Stock Tractors. The Adirondack Truck and Tractor Pullers would make there annual return to the Franklin County Fair in Malone for there all day and night show. There would be a total of 25 classes on the day from Stock Trucks and Tractors all way to the Super Farm Tractors and Pro Stock 4x4 Trucks. It would be another packed house throughout the evening. There would be some speculator wheel standings and lots of smoke and some arrange throughout the pull. Gallery

Travis Charleson (31) with the hard hit on the passengers door on the 12A car Charleson would ended up taking third in his heat. It would be the first night of demolition derby action at the Franklin County Fair in Malone, NY. It would be a compact derby show tonight with 5 of the 6 heats of action being the compact cars with a total of 70 cars. There would be plenty of hard-hitting with the extra space that would be available on the track. When it is was all side and done on the night the two big winners would be Austin Martin in 8 Cylinder and Tom Pickering in the 4 Cylinder classes with both of them taking home a nice 1,000 payday.
