The Moriah Vikings have crowned the 2023 Section VII Class C champions with a 55-38 win over the Northern Adirondack Bobcats as they advance to the NYSPHSAA Class C Tournament. It would be the second game of championship Sunday for Section VII Basketball and this would be in Class C Boy's action as the #1 Moriah Vikings would take on the #2 Northern Adirondack Bobcats. The game would get off to a fast start, which would be good for the Moriah Vikings as they would double up the Bobcats in the first quarter and have a 22-11 lead. In the second quarter, the Vikings would continue to impress as they would pull away with a 14-5 quarter and have a 36-16 lead as they entered the halftime break. When the teams would return for the second half the Vikings would not show any let up as they would 11-10 quarter and take a commanding 47-26 lead into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the Vikings would let up and just coast the quarter as the Bobcats would win the quarter at 12-8 although the Vikings would hold on for the 55-38 victory. With the win, the Vikings will advance to the NYSPHSAA Class C Tournament and will play Chatham from Section 2 at Clinton Community College on March 8th with the winner getting Canton for the right to go to Final Four. Section VII Class C Girl's Basketball Championship: #2 Northeastern Clinton Cougars Vs #1 Northern Adirondack Bobcats March 5th 2023

It would be the opening game of championship Sunday for Section VII Basketball and it would feature the top two seeds from Class C on the Girl's side as the #2 Northeastern Clinton Cougars and the #1 Northern Adirondack Bobcats. The Cougars would get off to a quick start in the game and take a 14-3 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Bobcats would get their shot going although it wouldn't be good enough as the Cougars would have a 13-10 quarter and take a 27-13 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter the Cougars would stay hot and have a 14-9 quarter and take a 41-22 lead into the fourth. In that quarter the Cougars would fall back and use the clock to their advantage and have a 9-8 quarter for the 49-29 victory. With the win, the #7 Northeastern Clinton Cougars advance to the NYSPHSAA Tournament and will take on #3 Greenwich on March 8th in the opening round of the tournament. Gallery

The Northeastern Clinton Cougars would be crowned the 2023 Section VII Class C champions with a 49-29 victory over the Northern Adirondack Bobcats. It would be the opening game of championship Sunday for Section VII Basketball and it would feature the top two seeds from Class C on the Girl's side as the #2 Northeastern Clinton Cougars and the #1 Northern Adirondack Bobcats. Plattsburgh's Max Filosca(5) rises high above the rest for the three-pointer from the elbow for the score. It would be the last game of the regular season inside section VII and would be a reschedule from an earlier game in the season due to replacement weather. The game would start off a with high flying pace that would play right into the hands of the Bobcats as they would race out to a 21-14 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the high-flying pace would continue as the Bobcats would jump on a 23-15 quarter and take a 44-29 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter the hot hand for the Bobcats would continue and they would have an 18-12 quarter and take a 62-41 lead into the final quarter. In the fourth quarter, there would be no give in the Bobcats as they would have a 13-11 quarter and secure the 75-52 victory. In the winning effort, the Northern Adirondack Bobcats would finish the regular season at 11-9 and will get the #3 seed in the upcoming Section VII Class C Tournament and will face the Northeastern Clinton Cougars in the semi-finals. While the Plattsburgh Hornets will finish their season at 7-11 will get the #3 seed in the Section VII Class B Tournament and will host the #6 Peru Nighthawks in the first round of the tournament. It would be a matchup inside the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference and the last home game for the Plattsburgh Hornets as they would take on the #17 Northern Adirondack Bobcats. It would be a low-scoring tight game through the first quarter as it would be tied at nine. In the second quarter, the Bobcats would start to find their shot and win the quarter 13-7 and have the halftime lead at 22-16. When the teams would return for the third quarter the game would take a 180 turn and the Hornets would win the quarter 17-11 and tie the game at 33 as they entered the 4th quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Bobcats would take control of the game again with a 16-9 quarter and get the 49-42 win. It would be an interconference matchup in section vii as the Seton Catholic Knights from the Mountain Valley Conference would host the Northern Adirondack Bobcats from the Champlain Valley Conference. The game would start off slow as both teams were looking to find their shot as the Bobcats would have the 7-5 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the defenses would still be the game's name as the Knights would win the quarter with a 10-7 and take the slim 15-14 lead at the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half the Bobcats would find the touch with the shot but the Knights would not have the luck as the Bobcats would win the quarter 13-4 and take the 27-19 lead into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the Knights still had no luck with the basketball as the Bobcats would win the quarter 14-5 to get the 41-24 win. In the winning effort, the Bobcats would improve their record to 11-1 while the Knights would fall to 8-6 on the season. Mountain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Soccer Northern Adirondack Bobcats @ Seton Catholic Knights September 8th 2022

Northern Adirondack's Kingston Tucker (4) and Ashton Guay (3) battle for the ball along the sidelines to gain control. It would be a battle inside the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference of section vii as the Seton Catholic Knights would host the Northern Adirondack Bobcats at the St. Peter's field. The Bobcats would get the opening goal of the game in the final five minutes of the first half on the Caleb Damour goal to make it 1-0 Bobcats as they head into the half. When the teams came back for the second half it would stay tight but the Bobcats would expand there lead to 2-0 in the 53rd minute on the goal from Tristin Lagree with the assist going to Kyle Reif. Then just a few minutes later the Bobcats would add another to make it a 3-0 game on the Calvin Magoon goal from Austin Lambert. From there the Bobcats would hold on for the 3-0 victory as they go to 2-1 and the Knights fall to 1-1 on the early season. Gallery
