It would be a matchup inside the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference of Section VII Girl's Basketball in Plattsburgh as the Seton Catholic Knights would host the Boquet Valley Griffins in a rematch of the Section VII Class D Finals from a year ago that took place about 5 miles down the road. The game would be low-scoring through the opening eight minutes as the home Knights would have the 9-8 lead. In the second quarter, the scoring would stay low as the defense would still stand tall as the Griffins would win the quarter 9-6 and take the 17-15 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter it would be another great defensive quarter as the Knights would get the 6-5 quarter but the Griffins would still have the 22-21 lead as they went to the fourth. In the fourth quarter, there would be a milestone that would be reached as Ella Lobdell would be the newest member of the 1,000-point club and from there it would seem like both teams had a major weight lifted off them as the Griffins would end up winning the quarter 16-11 which would be half the team's points in that quarter alone. The Griffins would get the 38-32 win and go to 12-7 on the season as they head into the playoffs as the Knights fall to 9-11 on the season. Gallery

Seton Catholic's Grace Trombley (12) takes flight for the layup off the backboard as part of a game-high 12 points. It would be a matchup inside the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference in Plattsburgh as the Bolton Jaguars would travel up to take on the Seton Catholic Knights in Girl's Basketball action. It would be a slow start out of the gate as the Seton Catholic Knights would hold just the 8-1 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the offense would start to heat out for the Knights as they would have a 10-4 quarter and take the 18-5 lead into the intermission. When the teams would return for the third quarter the defenses would still stay on top as the Knights would have a 8-4 quarter and take the 26-9 lead into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter with it looking like the Knights would have the game in hand the Jaguars would do their best to get back in the game with an 11-8 quarter but the nights would hold on for the 34-20 victory. In the winning effort, the Seton Catholic Knights get back to 500 on the season as they are now 9-9 while the Bolton Eagles suffer just their third loss on the season and are 14-3. It woi;d be the last game of the 2023 edition of the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic and it would feature the Malone Huskies and the Peru Nighthawks it would be one of the toughest games over the two days. The game might start slow but it wasn't for the lack of excitement as the Nigthawks and Huskies would be tied at six after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Huskies would take the slim 2-point into the break with a 7-5 quarter and a 13-11 lead at the break. In the third quarter, the game would still be tight but the Nighthawks would tie the game up at 24 as they head to the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Nighthawks would pull ahead with an 8-7 quarter and hold on to get the 32-31 win With the win the Nighthawks would go to 4-3 on the season and Huskies would fall to 2-2 on the season and Reese Duprey for the Nighthawks would lead all scorers with 18 points. It would be the second game of the second day of action from the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic and it would see the Boquet Valley Griffins take on the Saranac Spartans. The Spartans would take the first quarter and get off to a dominant start with a 12-2 quarter. In the second quarter. In the second quarter, the Griffins would fight to keep it close and would actually win the quarter 12-10 but still would trail in the game 22-14. When the teams returned for the third quarter the Spartans would take back control of the game with a 18-9 quarter and expand their lead to 40-23. In the fourth quarter, the Spartans would put the final touches on the game with a 19-4 quarter and cruise to the 59-27 victory. In the winning effort, the Spartans would go to 5-1 on the season as Layla Pellerin would lead the way with 17 points while the Boquet Valley Griffins would fall to 4-5 on the season. Gallery

It would be the last game of the opening day of the third annual Clinton Community College Holiday Classic and it would feature the Boquet Valley Griffins and the Peru Nigthawks in another classic Champlain Valley/Mountain Valley classic. The Nighthawks would get off to a soaring start in the game and have an 18-5 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the teams would play a more evenly matched eight minutes with the Nighthawks having a slim 11-8 quarter and taking a 29-13 lead into the halftime break. When the teams returned for the second half the Nighthawks would have shutdown defense and win the quarter 15-1 and take a 44-14 lead into the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the teams would play a little more evenly but the Nighthawks would still get the 15-11 quarter and secure the 59-25 victory. In the winning effort, the Nighthawks would even up their record on the season at 4-4 and will play Malone Huskies in the second game of the classic while Boquet Valley falls to 4-4 and will meet up with the Saranac Spartans.
