It would be the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class D Football championships and it would be another appearance by the #1 Moriah Vikings expect this time they would be taking on the #2 Ausable Valley Patriots for the right to head to the state playoffs and the road to the carrier dome. The upset-minded Patriots would get the opening score of the game on a 12 yard run by Ethan Snow and would take the 7-0 lead with three minutes left in the first quarter. Although the lead would be short-lived as the Moriah Vikings and Bryce Spraque would run back the ensuing kickoff 83 yards for the score with 1:48 left in the quarter although the two-point conversion would fail and the Patriots would have the slim 7-6 lead. The Vikings would officially take the 12-7 lead as Bryce Spraque would strike again although this time through the air on a 15-yard pass at the 5:16 mark of the second quarter and would stay that way for the first half. The Vikings would expand their lead to 20-7 on a 35-yard keeper by Rowan Swan and would also get the two-point conversion. The Patriots would answer right back on their next drive with Ethan Snow's second rushing touchdown of the day to make it a 20-13 game. That is where the game would end up with the Vikings being crowned the 2021 Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class D Champions although the Patriots wouldn't go down without swinging to get the tying score. With the win, the Vikings enter the NYSPHSAA Class D Tournament at a perfect 8-0 and wait for the winner from the capital district in a couple of weeks while the Ausable Valley Patriots season comes to end at 5-3. It would be the final week of the regular season and the conference title would be up for grabs between a pair of unbeaten as the Peru Nighthawks would host the Moriah Vikings. With the regular-season crown on the line, the game would start out very tight as the Vikings would get the opening score of the game in the final minute of first on a 49 yard run by Blake Swan and take the 6-0 lead. The Nighthawks would answer right back 30 seconds into the 2nd on a 33 yard run by Jack Hanson and take the 7-6 lead. Although the Vikings would answer back on the following drive on the 29 yards run by Riley Demarais at the 5:11 mark and regain the lead at 12-7. Then at the 8:14 mark of the second quarter, the Vikings would extend their lead to 20-7 on a 7 yard run by Blake Swan. Although the Nighthawks would get back into it by cutting the difference in half on Jack Hanson's second score of the game with two minutes left in the half at 20-14. Although the Vikings would answer right back and make it a two-score again in the final minute of the half on Blake Swan's third score of the game and take the 28-14 lead into the locker room. When the teams would return for the second half Vikings would look to take control of the game as they strike in the first minute on a 31-yard pass to Bryce Spraque and take the 34-14 lead. The Nighthawks would have a small answer at the 3;25 mark when Keegan Smith would hit a 36-yard field goal to make it 34-17. The passing attack would have another answer by the Vikings as they would find Bryce Spraque again this time for 49 yards and take a 40-17 advantage. The Nighthawks would get it within two scores at 40-24 with 1:27 left in the third on an 18 yard run by Sawyer Schlit. Although the Vikings would answer back on their next offensive play on a 53-yard run to take the three-score lead back at 46-24. In the fourth quarter, the Nighthawks would get an alone score on Sawyer Schlitt's second score of the game although it wouldn't be enough as the Vikings win 46-31. In the winning effort, the Vikings finish the regular season at 7-0 and are crowned champions, and now what the winner Ticonderoga and Ausable Valley for the Section D Championship next weekend. While the 5-2 Nighthawks know they are facing the Plattsburgh Hornets next weekend for the Section VII Class B title.

The Vikings would show why they came into this game undefeated as they would get the opening score at the 4:27 mark of the first quarter on the Riley Demarias on the 28 yards run for the 7-0 lead. The Vikings would double up their lead in the first minute of the second quarter on the 8 yards run by Dakota Wright for the 14-0 lead. Then in the final minute of the half, the Vikings would start to pull away as Riley Demarias would strike for the second time from 5 yards out and take the 22-0 lead to the break. When the teams came back for the second half the defenses on both sides would step up as the Vikings would get the lone score of the half at the 4:13 mark of the fourth quarter as Riley Demararias would get his third score of the night to secure the 28-0 victory. In the winning effort, the Moriah Vikings go to 6-0 on the season as they will finish up the regular season against the Saranac Chiefs. While the Ausable Valley Patriots fall to 4-2 and will finish their season against Plattsburgh.

It would second game of a championship doubleheader in Chazy this time it would be girls soccer as the host Chazy Eagles would look to defend their Section VII Class D Championship against the Moriah Vikings. The Eagles would get the opening goal of the game in the 14th minute from Celine Junneau to take the 1-0 lead. The game would remain there for the rest of the first half but just two minutes into the second half the Eagles would extend there lead to 2-0 on the Ava McAuliffe goal. Then in the 51st minute, the Eagles would take command of the game at 3-0 on Celine Juneau second goal of the afternoon. Then in the 59th minute, the Eagles would put the icing on the cake with the Olivia McLennan goal at 4-0. In the 73rd minute through the Vikings would get on the board with the Mikenna Valentine goal for a 4-1 game. #1 Ticonderoga Sentinels Vs #2 Moriah Vikings - Section VII Class D Championship - October 27 2017

Moriah's Dylan Trombley (10) steps in front of Ticonderoga's Ethan Thompson (39) and makes the catch on the goal line to save the touchdown. It would be the Section VII Class D Championship between long time rivals the #1 Ticonderoga Sentinels and the #2 Moriah Vikings. The Sentinels would take the 7-0 lead 5 minutes into the first quarter on Hayden Scuderi's 1 yard run. The Moriah Vikings would get on the board in the last minute of the first quarter on a Rob Flack 6 yard touchdown but they would fail the 2 point conversion and trail 7-6 after the first quarter. In the second quarter the Vikings would take a 14-7 lead on a Connor Anderson 2 yard run at 7:45 of the quarter. The game would stay there all the way til the 8:20 mark of the third quarter when Pelkey would score on the 1 yard run to make it 22-7. Then at the 4:15 mark of the fourth quarter Pelkey would score again for the Vikings to extend there lead to 28-7. The Sentinels would then do there best to make a comeback as they would score 43 seconds later on a 13 yard pass to Michael Dushane to make it 28-15. The Sentinels would keep fighting and with 35 seconds left in the game Michael Dushane would score again to make it 28-22. The Sentinels would then attempt the onside but it would be unsuccessful and the Vikings would get the 28-22 victory. In the winning effort the Moriah Vikings would go to 8-1 on the season and have a meeting with the Tupper Lake Lumberjacks in the New York State Class D First Round. As the Ticonderoga Sentinels season comes to an end at 8-1. Gallery

#1 Moriah Vikings Vs #2 Ausable Valley Patriots - High School Boys Basketball - March 7th 2020

The Moriah Vikings pose for there team photo as they are crowned the 2019 Section VII Class C Champions and there ninth straight title. It would be the Section VII Class C Finals and it would be the top-seeded and number 1 in the State Moriah Vikings going against the #2 seeded Ausable Valley Patriots from the SUNY Plattsburgh Fieldhouse. The game would start off good for the upset-minded Ausable Valley Patriots as they would storm out to a 17-11 lead after the first quarter. Although the Vikings wouldn't let that stand and they would make a comeback with a 16-9 quarter for a 27-26 lead at the break. Although the end of the half would not come without a little drama as Luis Perez would half-court shot as the horn sounded to cut it to one. When the team's comeback for the third quarter so would the Vikings offense as they would run with a 20-10 quarter and have a 47-36 lead head into the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Vikings would let up with the big lead and win the quarter 12-9 for the 59-45 victory. With the win, the Moriah Vikings clinch there 9th straight Section VII Title and head to the state tournament and take on the Madrid Waddington Yellow Jackets from Section X. Gallery.
