It would be the last game of the weekend 2-day championships from the Clinton Community College and the Section VII Basketball championships and it would feature the #1 Chazy Eagles and the #2 Boquet Valley Griffins battling for the Girls Basketball Class D title. The game would be low-scoring and tight through the first quarter as the Eagles would have a slight 9-8 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Griffiths would find their shot and start to pull away from the Eagles with an 11-5 quarter and take the 19-14 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter it would be a complete flip of the last quarter as the Eagles would have a 15-9 quarter giving the low by slim lead as they went to the fourth quarter at 29-28. In the fourth quarter the game would go back and forth with the lead being traded a few times through the quarter but when the final buzzer would ring the Griffiths would have a 12-9 quarter and secure the 40-37 victory and the 2024 Section VII Class D title. With the win the Boquet Valley Griffiths advance to the NYSPHSAA Class D Tournament and will have a quarterfinal game on March 9th at Clinton Community College against the winner of section II for the right to go to the state final four the following weekend at Hudson Valley Community College. The Boquet Valley Griffiths are crowned the 2024 Section VII Class D Champions with their 40-37 victory over the Chazy Eagles. It would be the last game of the weekend 2-day championships from the Clinton Community College and the Section VII Basketball championships and it would feature the #1 Chazy Eagles and the #2 Boquet Valley Griffins battling for the Girls Basketball Class D title. It would be a section vii baseball matchup between the Champlain Valley and Mountain Valley Conference foes as the Peru Nighthawks would host the Chazy Eagles. The game would start off good for the home Nighthawks as they would get a pair of runs in each of the first two innings for the 4-0 lead. In the fourth inning, the Nighthawks would break the game wide open as they would explode for a 12-run inning and take a 16-0 lead. Then in each of the last two innings, they would get two more runs each while the Eagles would avoid the shutout with a single run in the seventh inning as the Knighthawks would get the 20-1 victory. In the winning effort, Nighthawks Ryan Maggys would lead the way with a pair of hits and a 5 rbi game. In the winning effort, the Nighthawks go to 5-1 on the season. Gallery

The game would start off great for the home Hornets with a 23-8 first quarter. In the second quarter, the Eagles would start to find traction as the Hornets would have an 11-8 but the Hornets would take a 34-16 lead into the break. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Hornets would keep the foot on the gas and have a 14-9 third and take a 48-25 lead into the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Hornets would just be too much as they would but the game away with 16-3 quarter and get the 64-28. In the winning effort, the Hornets would get their first win of the season and rise their mark to 1-2 while Chazy Eagles fall to 1-3 on the season. Gallery.

It would second game of a championship doubleheader in Chazy this time it would be girls soccer as the host Chazy Eagles would look to defend their Section VII Class D Championship against the Moriah Vikings. The Eagles would get the opening goal of the game in the 14th minute from Celine Junneau to take the 1-0 lead. The game would remain there for the rest of the first half but just two minutes into the second half the Eagles would extend there lead to 2-0 on the Ava McAuliffe goal. Then in the 51st minute, the Eagles would take command of the game at 3-0 on Celine Juneau second goal of the afternoon. Then in the 59th minute, the Eagles would put the icing on the cake with the Olivia McLennan goal at 4-0. In the 73rd minute through the Vikings would get on the board with the Mikenna Valentine goal for a 4-1 game.
