It would be the Quarterfinals of the NYSPHSAA Class D Football Championships and the #9 Moriah Vikings would take on the Haldane Blue Devils with a trip to the final four on the line from the Ausable Valley High School in Clintonville, NY. The first quarter would be a defensive battle as both teams would be held off the scoreboard. On this cold night, the Vikings would finally break through the ice with a score at the 4:19 mark of the second quarter on a 2 yard run from Caleb Harris for the 8-0 lead after they went for two. Then with 32 seconds left in the half, the Vikings would strike again this time on a 50 yard run from Rowan Swan and they would double their advantage at 16-0 as they would head into the locker rooms. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Vikings would keep their foot down and add another score with 3:30 left in the quarter on the quarterback keeper from the 1-yard line and take the 22-0 lead. From there defense would keep Haldane off the board and secure the 22-0. In the winning effort, the Vikings stay undefeated on the season at 9-0 and will head to Middletown, NY next weekend and take on #4 Greenwich in the final four with a chance to head back to the dome for a state title the first week in December. The upset-minded Patriots would get the opening score of the game on a 12 yard run by Ethan Snow and would take the 7-0 lead with three minutes left in the first quarter. Although the lead would be short-lived as the Moriah Vikings and Bryce Spraque would run back the ensuing kickoff 83 yards for the score with 1:48 left in the quarter although the two-point conversion would fail and the Patriots would have the slim 7-6 lead. The Vikings would officially take the 12-7 lead as Bryce Spraque would strike again although this time through the air on a 15-yard pass at the 5:16 mark of the second quarter and would stay that way for the first half. The Vikings would expand their lead to 20-7 on a 35-yard keeper by Rowan Swan and would also get the two-point conversion. The Patriots would answer right back on their next drive with Ethan Snow's second rushing touchdown of the day to make it a 20-13 game. That is where the game would end up with the Vikings being crowned the 2021 Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class D Champions although the Patriots wouldn't go down without swinging to get the tying score. With the win, the Vikings enter the NYSPHSAA Class D Tournament at a perfect 8-0 and wait for the winner from the capital district in a couple of weeks while the Ausable Valley Patriots season comes to end at 5-3. It would be the final week of the regular season and the conference title would be up for grabs between a pair of unbeaten as the Peru Nighthawks would host the Moriah Vikings. With the regular-season crown on the line, the game would start out very tight as the Vikings would get the opening score of the game in the final minute of first on a 49 yard run by Blake Swan and take the 6-0 lead. The Nighthawks would answer right back 30 seconds into the 2nd on a 33 yard run by Jack Hanson and take the 7-6 lead. Although the Vikings would answer back on the following drive on the 29 yards run by Riley Demarais at the 5:11 mark and regain the lead at 12-7. Then at the 8:14 mark of the second quarter, the Vikings would extend their lead to 20-7 on a 7 yard run by Blake Swan. Although the Nighthawks would get back into it by cutting the difference in half on Jack Hanson's second score of the game with two minutes left in the half at 20-14. Although the Vikings would answer right back and make it a two-score again in the final minute of the half on Blake Swan's third score of the game and take the 28-14 lead into the locker room. When the teams would return for the second half Vikings would look to take control of the game as they strike in the first minute on a 31-yard pass to Bryce Spraque and take the 34-14 lead. The Nighthawks would have a small answer at the 3;25 mark when Keegan Smith would hit a 36-yard field goal to make it 34-17. The passing attack would have another answer by the Vikings as they would find Bryce Spraque again this time for 49 yards and take a 40-17 advantage. The Nighthawks would get it within two scores at 40-24 with 1:27 left in the third on an 18 yard run by Sawyer Schlit. Although the Vikings would answer back on their next offensive play on a 53-yard run to take the three-score lead back at 46-24. In the fourth quarter, the Nighthawks would get an alone score on Sawyer Schlitt's second score of the game although it wouldn't be enough as the Vikings win 46-31. In the winning effort, the Vikings finish the regular season at 7-0 and are crowned champions, and now what the winner Ticonderoga and Ausable Valley for the Section D Championship next weekend. While the 5-2 Nighthawks know they are facing the Plattsburgh Hornets next weekend for the Section VII Class B title.

The Vikings would double up their lead in the first minute of the second quarter on the 8 yards run by Dakota Wright for the 14-0 lead. Then in the final minute of the half, the Vikings would start to pull away as Riley Demarias would strike for the second time from 5 yards out and take the 22-0 lead to the break. When the teams came back for the second half the defenses on both sides would step up as the Vikings would get the lone score of the half at the 4:13 mark of the fourth quarter as Riley Demararias would get his third score of the night to secure the 28-0 victory. In the winning effort, the Moriah Vikings go to 6-0 on the season as they will finish up the regular season against the Saranac Chiefs. While the Ausable Valley Patriots fall to 4-2 and will finish their season against Plattsburgh.
