The Moriah Vikings pose for there team photo as they crowned the 2018 Section VII Class D Champions. The #1 Moriah Vikings would square off with the #2 Crown Point Panthers for the Section VII Class D Championship. The Vikings would cruise out to the early lead at 18-9 after the first quarter. In the second quarter, it would be more of the same as they win the quarter 18-17 to have a 36-26 lead at intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter 19-18 to have the 57-44 lead headed to the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Vikings would pull away and get the easy win with a 23-10 quarter and secure the 80-54 victory. In the winning effort, the Moriah Vikings advance to the New York State Tournament. Gallery.

Crown Point Lady Panthers would score in the final few minutes of the game to defeat Westport Lady Eagles 1-0 in nail biting Section VII Class D Quarterfinals. The Lady Panthers now advance to the Semifinals taking on the winner of the Willsboro/Chazy game. The Westport Eagles would score a run in extra innings as they battle the Crown Point Panthers in a nail biter that two days to complete. The first day the game was 10-10 going into the 10th inning. When play resumed Crown Point batted around the order and would score 6 runs in the 10 inning. It would start off with Jeremy McIntosh would ground out for the 1st out. Then Calvin Arno would get a base hit and steal 2nd. Chad DeBrokarder would get a base hit. Then Jaice Sperm would also get a base hit. Then Kolby Peetak would get a walked to load up the bases. DeBrokarder would score on a fielding error and Sperm would score on a fielding error. Then Rigby Macey would get on base to have a 1st and 2nd with only 1 out. Then Joe Foote would fly out to center for the 2nd out of the inning. Sam Mockery would bat next and get an RBI as he reaches 2nd base on a two-base error then scored from 2nd base on a fielder's choice by Broward Crowningshield. McIntosh would bat again in the inning and would be walked. Arno would take his 2nd at-bat of the inning and also be walked to load the bases again. DeBrokarder would ground out to end the inning as the Panthers would beat the Eagles 16-10 in 10 innings. Westport's Thomas Mero (4) would go 1-4 with 2 runs and 2 stolen bases. John Doyle (10) would go 1-2 with a base hit, 3 stolen bases, 1 RBI, and 2 walks. Gallery.

Christy McGuinness(7), the Panthers, scored at 30:16 in the 1st half assisted by Brittany Foote(13). The Lady Eagles had 6 shots on goal and 5 saves. The Lady Panthers had 7 shots on goal, and 5 saves. This would be the final regular-season home game for the Lady Eagles. The half time ceremony is available in the store.
