Beekmentown's Jon Graziane hits the the cross-face cradle while on the mat. The five section VII schools would meet at Saranac for the 2013 Section VII Wrestling Championship. There would be many good matches throughout the day with many of them going the distances and some needing the extra period. As a team Peru would defend there sectional title with a score of 244, 2nd Beekmentown 203, 3rd Saranac 169, 4th Northern Adirondack 155 and 5th Ausable Valley 79. We would like congratulate all the individual winners and wish them the best of luck at the State Championships in Albany at the Times Union Center on February 22nd and 23rd. Gallery

Malone's Connor Daily (1) and Brushton-Moria's Loren Traynor (10) battle for the loose ball near midcourt diving over each other. The Malone Huskies would host the Brushton-Moria Panthers in Section X action. The Huskies would leave little doubt in the game as they would take a 26-2 lead after the first. In the second quarter it would be more of the same as the Huskies would win the quarter 24-6 and take a 50-8 lead at the break. When the teams would return for the third quarter it would be more of the same as the Huskies win the third 24-7 and take a 74-15 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter the Huskies would put on the finishing touches as they would win the quarter 22-6 to get the easy 96-21 victory. In the winning effort Nate Monnette would lead all scores with 21 points. With the win the Huskies finish off the regular season with a 17-1 record and win the central division. Gallery

The Malone Huskies seniors on the basketball and cheerleading teams would hold the flag during the Senior Night Ceremony before the game. The Malone Huskies would host the Massena Red Raiders in basketball action as part of the Section X Central Division action. The game would be very physical with many fouls called through out the games as both teams were looking for the edge. The Huskies would lead by a slim 20-19 after the first quarter. In the second quarter it would be more of the same as the Red Raiders would win the quarter 19-17 and take a 38-37 lead at the break. The third quarter would be were the Huskies would run away with the games as there defense would really step up as the Huskies win the third 19-5 and take a 56-43 lead after the third. The Red Raiders were unable to much of a run in the 4th as the Huskies would get the 75-61 victory. In the winning effort Jon Dubleavey would lead the with 15 points as the Huskies go to 16-1 on the season. Gallery

Chateaugay's Matt Swanston (11) wins the opening tip of the game with the tip forward to start the offense. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the Parishville-Hopkinton Panthers in Section X East Division action as part of Senior Night. The Bulldogs would get off to a quick start as they would have a 21-5 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter they would outscore the Panthers 23-3 and take a 44-8 lead at intermission. In the second half it would be more of the same as the Bulldogs would score the Panthers 17-3 and cruise to the 61-11 victory. In the winning effort Devin Barnes would lead the way with 10 points. Coach Mike mMartin would like to thank all the senoirs for the time and commitment to the program over the years. With the win the Bulldogs go to 13-4 on the season. Gallery

Chateaugay's Katie Beach (13) goes up for the contested lay up on the break out play. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the Parishville-Hopkinton Panthers in Section X East Division play on Senoir Night in Chateaugay. The Bulldogs would strom there way out in the first quarter to 21-4 lead. Then in the second quarter it would be much of the same as they would take a 34-7 lead into the break. When the teams would return for the second half it would be more of the same as the Bulldogs would cruise to a 51-12 victory. Leading the way for the Bulldogs Courtney Boyea would have 19 points. Coach Chris Reynolds would like to thank all of his senoirs for there time and service on the teams. With the win the Bulldogs would go to 14-2 on the season. Gallery

Northeastern Clinton's Reese Tucker (2) and Plattsburgh's Devin Clarke (17) battle for the loose puck behind the net. The Northeastern Clinton Cougars would travel to Plattsburgh and take on the Hornets is section seven action. The game would remain scoreless until the 13:23 mark of the first when Jack Tolosky would light the lamp for the Hornets and make it 1-0. Then just 21 seconds into the second period the Hornets would score again to make it 2-0 on Alex Maston's goal. Then at the 10:35 mark of the second period, the Hornets would score again to make it 3-0 this time on Robbie Knowles's goal. That would end the scoring as the Hornets would get the 3-0 win. As for the goalie's Northeastern Clinton's Cody Young would stop 17 of 20 shots while Plattsburgh's Giancarlo Ventre would stop all 19 shots. The Cougars fall to 8-9 as the Hornets improve to 12-5 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Giovanna Senese (20) slides in front of the Utica goalie trying to slide it under the goalie's pads. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Utica Pioneers in ECAC-West women's hockey. The Cardinals get off to a quick start when Teal Gove would score just 18 seconds in to make it 1-0 Cardinals. The Pioneers would answer back at 8:18 of the first when Brittany Dellechiaie scores to tie the game at 1. Then just 1:38 into the second period the Pioneers would take a 2-1 lead on Mary Fusco's power-play goal. The Pioneers would take a 3-1 lead at 3:58 of the second period when Louise Steele Norton scores. That is where the game would remain until the 7:58 of the third period when the Cardinals would cut the deficit to one on Chelsea VanGlahan's goal. Then with 4:30 left in the game, Shannon Stewart would tie the game up for the Cardinals at three. The teams would go to the overtime and nothing would be resolved and the times would get a draw. With the draw, Sydney Aveson would stop 13 of 16 shots as the Cardinals go to 19-0-2. Gallery

Chateaugay's Courtney Boyea (15) with the three to put her over 1,000 points in her career. She would become the 15th player in Chateaugay history and 6th girl to reach this accomplishment in school history. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the Colton-Pierpont Colts in Section X East Division action. The Bulldogs would waste no time in getting the advantage as they would have a 16-2 lead after the first quarter. Then in the second quarter, they would outscore the Colts 9-3 to take the 25-5 lead into the break. In the second half, it would be more of the same as the Bulldogs would outscore them 21-10 for the 46-15 win. In the winning effort, Courtney Boyea would lead the way with eleven points. With the Bulldogs go to 12-2 as the Colts fall to 4-12. Gallery

Northeastern Clinton's Jordan Lamere (4) with the low shot to the bottom corner for the goal to give the Cougars a 2-0 lead. The Malone Huskies would host the Northeastern Clinton Cougars in nonleague hockey action. The Cougars would get on the broad 30 seconds in and we're off and running on the Alex Duffy goal to make it 1-0. The Cougars would strike again at 3:46 on Jordan Lamere's goal to make it 2-0. That is where the game would remain until 21 seconds left in the second period when Tanner Studlack would score on the power play for the Huskies to make it 2-1 Cougars going into the third period. Then just 2:51 into the third Nick Palmer would score for the Cougars to make it 3-1. Then at 6:12, the Cougars get another goal this time from Dayton Roberts to make it 4-1. The Cougars would add one more at 15:18 to end the scoring with Justin Rabbideau's goal to give the Cougars the 5-1 victory. In the winning effort, Cody Young would stop 16 of 17 shots while Brandon Powers for the Huskies would stop 19 of 24. With the win, the Cougars will go to 8-7 as the Huskies fall to 8-8-1. Gallery

Malone's Joey Brown (30) makes the save on the scramble with the assist from Jake Hennings (10) stick. The Malone Huskies would host the Potsdam Sandstoners in Section X action. The Sandstoners would get the opening goal at the 6-minute mark of the first period on Corson Green goal 1-0 Sandstoners. The Sandstoners would make it 2-0 on Trevor Keleher's goal at 8:28 to end the first-period scoring. The Sandstoners would get the scoring started at 2:39 of the second on Mike Maroney's goal to make it 3-0. The Sandstoners would strike again seven seconds later on Josh Locey's goal to make it 4-0. The Sandstoners score again at 4:14 on Robbie Scott's goal to make it 5-0. The Huskies would finally get on the broad 36 seconds later on Trevor Hendersons' goal. Then with 1:16 left in the second Cameron Daniels would make it 5-2 at the end of the second. Then just a 1:15 into the third the Sandstoners would make it 6-2 Josh Locey's second goal of the night. Then at the 11:42 mark would make it 7-2 Logan Ford's goal. The Sandstoners would get one more as time expired in the game to make an 8-2 final. In the losing effort, Joey Brown would stop 36 of 44 shots as the Huskies fall to 7-7-1 on the season. Gallery
