KC Photo Video would show that they were the better team early as they would have a 31-12 lead at the intermission. When the teams came back for the second half it would be more of the same as they win the second half 34-8 to secure the 65-20 victory. Plattsburgh State's Kayla Menneghin (9) with the goal over the stretched goalie on the 2 on 1 opportunity. It would be a beat between NEWHL conference foes as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Cortland State Red Dragons. The Cardinals would take the lead five minutes into the game on the Annie Katonka goal. The Red Dragons would tie the game at 1 on the power-play goal nine minutes into the first. The Cardinals although would regain the lead Kayla Menneghan goal with four minutes left in the first for the 2-1 lead after the first period. In the second period, the Red Dragons would get the lone goal of the period to tie it at 2. The Cardinals would regain the lead again on the Courtney Moriarty goal 4 minutes into the third period at 3-2. Then at the 9:46 mark of the third period, the Cardinals would extend there lead to 4-2 Kayla Meneghain second goal of the night. Then at 13:07, the Cardinals would put the icing of the cake on the Erin McCardle goal to secure the 5-2 victory. In the winning effort, the Cardinals would improve to 15-2 on the season as Brooke Wolejko make 14 saves on the night. Gallery

As the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Brockport State Golden Eagles. In the first quarter, the Cardinals would start with a slight lead at 17-16. In the second quarter, the teams would be even as they tie for the quarter at 18 and the Cardinals would have a 35-34 lead. When the teams came back for the second half the Eagles would pull away with a 26-17 quarter and have a 60-52 lead. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles would pull away more winning the quarter 21-15 and secure the 81-67 victory. In the losing effort, Cardinals Taylor Clare would lead the way with 12 points as the Cardinals fall to 5-11 on the season. Gallery

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would start the 2018 portion of the schedule with a home conference game against the Geneseo Knights. It would be a tight start to the game as the Cardinals trail 25-23 after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Knights would extend there lead slightly as they would win the quarter 14-11 and have a 39-34 at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter it would a defensive battle as the Knights would win the quarter 8-5 and have a 47-39 lead after the third. In the fourth quarter, the Knights would win the quarter slightly again 24-21 as the Cardinals would fall 71-60. In the losing effort, Taylor Durnin would lead the way with 19 points as they fall to 5-10 season. Gallery

When the teams returned for the second period Plattsburgh State would continue as they scored twice more from Matt Quilty and Mike Falanga as they would have a 5-1 lead. In the third period, Plattsburgh State would finish it off as they would get two more goals Aryton Valente and Cole Stallard to secure the 7-2 victory. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Babson Beavers in the finals of the 2018 WB Mason Winter Classic. The Cardinals would strike first with the opening goal 11 minutes into the first period from Cole Stallard. The Cardinals would extend the lead 2 minutes into the second period on the Rich McCartney goal to make it 2-0. The game would stay there till the 7-minute mark of the third period when Rich McCartney would get his second goal of the night to make it 3-0. The Beavers would get on the broad with 5 minutes left in the third on a Patrick Flynn goal to make it 3-1. Then with under two minutes left the Cardinals would add an empty netter from Greg Malafronte to secure the 4-1 victory. Then just 47 seconds later the Cardinals would extend there lead to 2-0 on Andrew Pizzio goal. Then just over a minute later the Cardinals would strike again on Antoine Desnoyers's goal to make it 3-0. Then with 19 seconds left the Cardinals would make it 4-0 on Ross Sloan's goal. Then four minutes into the third period Anthony Fournier-Gosselin would score to secure the 5-0 victory.
