Plattsburgh State's Cole Stallard (20) with the shot on net and would have the first goal of the game. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Babson Beavers in the finals of the 2018 WB Mason Winter Classic. The Cardinals would strike first with the opening goal 11 minutes into the first period from Cole Stallard. The Cardinals would extend the lead 2 minutes into the second period on the Rich McCartney goal to make it 2-0. The game would stay there till the 7-minute mark of the third period when Rich McCartney would get his second goal of the night to make it 3-0. The Beavers would get on the broad with 5 minutes left in the third on a Patrick Flynn goal to make it 3-1. Then with under two minutes left the Cardinals would add an empty netter from Greg Malafronte to secure the 4-1 victory. In the winning effort, Lawson Fenton would make 29 saves as the Cardinals go to 7-7 on the season.Gallery

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals pose for there team photo as they are crowned the 2018 WB Mason Winter Classic champions. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Babson Beavers in the finals of the 2018 WB Mason Winter Classic. The Cardinals would strike first with the opening goal 11 minutes into the first period from Cole Stallard. The game would remain scoreless until the 2 minute mark of the second period when Alex Brenton scores. The just 4 minutes later Kyle Taylor scores to make it 2-0. Then to end the period the Jensen brothers would each get one to make it 4-0 after the second period. Then in the third period, Matt McCleod would put the icing on for the 5-0 win.
