The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Babson Beavers in the 1st round of the Cardinal Classic. The game would remain scoreless until the 2 minute mark of the second period when Alex Brenton scores. The just 4 minutes later Kyle Taylor scores to make it 2-0. Then to end the period the Jensen brothers would each get one to make it 4-0 after the second period. Then in the third period, Matt McCleod would put the icing on for the 5-0 win.
