For the championship of the Cardinal Classic, it was a battle of the top 5 schools as The Plattsburgh State Cardinals took on the Castleton State Spartans. This would be a very rough game right from the drop of the puck. The game would remain scoreless until the 11-minute mark of the second period when the Spartans take the 1-0. Then with 3 minutes remaining in the period, the Cardinal tied the game up on Kyle Taylor's goal. The game would stay tied until Jake Mooney scores the game-winner with 4 minutes left in the game to give the Cardinals the Cardinal Classic title. In the winning effort, Matthieu Cadieux stops 20 of 21 shots as the Cardinals improve to 8-2-3 on the season. Gallery
