Saranac's Garrett Adolfo (32) flies over and tips the ball before it gets to the Ausable wide receiver. It would be the #1 Saranac Chiefs against the #3 Ausable Valley Patriots in the Section VII Class C Championship. The game would get off to a slow start with the rain and snow as the Patriots would get the only score of the first quarter on a safety at 4:45 for the 2-0 lead. In the second quarter the Chiefs would get on the board and take the 7-2 lead on the 24 yard pass to Jacob Nolan at the 8:26 mark and hold that for the 7-2 lead at the break. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Chiefs would extend there lead to 14-2 on a 42 yard strike to Bryce Smith. In the fourth quarter the Chiefs would get another score from Jacob Nolan for the 21-2 lead. In the closing couple minutes of the game the Patriots would score on the 15 yard pass to Trevor Wilkinson. Although it would not be enough as the Saranac Chiefs get the 21-8 victory and crowned the 2018 C.V.A.C. Class C Champions and will play Ogdensburg next weekend. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class D Championship - #1 Moriah Vikings Vs #2 Ticonderoga Sentinels - October 26th 2018

Moriah's Maddox Blaise (4) with the catch in the end zzone for the two point conversion. It would be the traditional Class D Championship for Section VII as the #1 Moriah Vikings would meet up with the #2 Ticonderoga Sentinels for the championship. The game would start of very defensive as the first score would come at 3:41 and Moriah would take the 8-0 lead on Jarin Sargents 22 yard reception. Although the Sentinels would march right down the field and score just over a minute later and make it 8-6 on the Dillon Schlogl score. Moriah would extend there lead 90 seconds later on a 76 yard catch and run by Jarin Sargent for his second score of the game and a 16-6 lead. Then with just under two minutes left in the half the Vikings would score again on Jarin Sargents third touchdown of the quarter this time for 39 yards to make it 24-6. In the second half the Sentinels would try and get back in the game with a score to make it 24-14. Although it wouldn't be enough as the Vikings would get two more scores for the 36-14 victory. With the win the Moriah Vikings go to 7-2 and wait the section II team in the state playoffs while the Ticonderoga Sentinels season comes to an end at 2-7. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class B Semi-Finals - #2 Plattsburgh Hornets Vs #3 Peru Indians - October 19th 2018

Peru's Austin Carpenter (5) slides into the end zone for the lone Indians score. It would be the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class B Semi-Finals featuring the #2 Plattsburgh Hornets and the #3 Peru Indians It would be a defensive battle with both teams going for every yard they can. The Indians would draw first blood on a four-yard run by Austin Carpenter to give them the 8-0 lead with 2:12 left in the first quarter. In the second quarter the Hornets would answer back on a 61-yard pass to Zach Bieber to make it an 8-7 game. Believe it or not, that would be all the scoring the game and the defenses would crank down and not allow another score the rest of the night. With the 8-7 victory, the Peru Indians would improve 5-3 as they head to the championship next week against the Beekmantown Eagles while the Plattsburgh Hornets season comes to end with a 4-4 season. Champlain Valley Athletic Conference - Week 7 - Plattsburgh Hornets Vs Saranac Chiefs - October 13th 2018

Plattsburgh's Dylan Garrant (21) with the diving catch on the comebacker for the interception. It would be the final day of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season and would feature the Plattsburgh Hornets and Saranac Chiefs. The Saranac Chiefs would take the 7-0 lead at the 7:15 mark of the first quarter on the 8 yard pass to Jacob Nolan. The Chiefs would extend there lead to 14-0 midway through the second quarter on the James Conway 1 yard run. The game would remain there until four minutes left in the third quarter when the Chiefs would extend it to 21-0 on the running touchdown. The Chiefs would get one more as the fourth quarter starter on the Luke Garmin 9 yard pass to secure the 28-0 victory. In the winning effort the Saranac Chiefs finish the regular season at 6-1 while the Plattsburgh Hornets finish at 4-3 on the season. Gallery

Ausable Valley Patriots Vs Ticonderoga Sentinels - Champlain Valley Athletic Conference - Week 7 - October 12th 2018

Ticonderoga's Russell Gallo II (44) with the catch and fights through the tacklers for the extra yards. It would be the final week of the regular season and it would feature the Ausable Valley Patriots and Ticonderoga Sentinels. The Sentinels would take the 7-0 lead with two minutes left in the first quarter on the quarterback sneak. The Patriots would take the 8-7 lead with 4:30 left in the first half on the Jordan Fletcher five yard run. The Patriots would take the lead in the final minute of the first half when Michael Douglas caught the 16 yard pass and make it 14-7 at the half. Ticonderoga would get with one on the 8 yard run by Bryce Gautreau and make it 14-13 game. Ausable would come right back on the next play and connect on a 90 yard pass play to Luis Perez and make it a 20-13 game. Although with four minutes left in the quarter Bryce Gautreau would score again on a 14 yard play to make it 20-19. With just under four minutes left in the game the Sentinels would take there first lead of the game at 25-20 on the Michael Dushane five yard touchdown pass. Although the Patriots would march right down the field and Luis Perez would score on a five yard touchdown pass in the final minute and secure the 26-25 victory for there first victory of the season. In the winning effort the Ausable Valley Patriots would go to 1-6 while the Ticonderoga Sentinels fall to 1-6 on the season. Gallery

Peru's Robert Reynolds (2) with the tip on the ball that causes it to go through the hands of Saranac's Conner Recore (80). It would be week 6 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference and would feature the Saranac Chiefs and Peru Indians battling for second place in the conference. The game would start with the Indians taking the 7-0 lead on the Robert Reynolds 2 yard pass at 3:43 of the first quarter. The Chiefs would answer back with 3:30 left in the first quarter on the Andy LeBeau 5 yard pass. The Indians would take the lead in the second quarter on the 15 yard pass to Austin Carpenter to make it 14-7 and that is where the score remained til halftime. The Chiefs would answer back in the third quarter on a 49 yard pass to Jacob Nolan to tie the game up at 14. In the coming couple minutes of the fourth quarter the Chiefs would take the 21-14 lead on the Isaac Graham 15 yard pass. Although the Indians would answer back at 3:46 on the Alex Palmer 6 yard run to tie the game at 21. Then with 37 seconds left in the game the Chiefs would hit a 29 yard feild goal for the 24-21 lead. Then with seven seconds left in the game the Chiefs would seal the game away on a Jacob Nolan pick 6 for the 31-21 victory. Champlain Valley Athletic Conference - Week 5 - Plattsburgh Hornets Vs Beekmantown Eagles - September 28th 2018

Beekmantown's Gavin Fessette (61) with the crunching hit and tackle on Plattsburgh's Ian Detulleo (2) on the punt return. It would be Week 5 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference and it would be a battle for first place as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host crosstown foe the Beekmantown Eagles. The game would take a bit to get going as the Hornets would take the 6-0 lead at the 6:26 mark of the second quarter when Cameron Colburn would score off a 31-yard strike. The Eagles would march back down the field and tie the game up on a Christain Moura 13 yard run at 8:59 of the second quarter. Although in the closing seconds of the half the Hornets would take the 12-6 lead into the break on the 4-yard pass to Zack Bieber. It would take most of the third quarter although the Eagles would take the 14-12 lead on a Christain Moura 13 yard run at 8:33. The just two minutes later they would extend there lead on the Brandon Belrose keeper for the 20-12 lead. In the early moments of the fourth, it would go to 22-12 on the Beekmentown safety. Then the eagles would extend the lead to 28-12 on the touchdown pass. Although the Hornets would answer right back 25 seconds later on the touchdown pass to Zack Bieber to make it 28-18. Then in the final three minutes of the game, the Eagles would put it away on a 4 yard run by William Colvard to secure the 34-18 victory. Champlain Valley Athletic Conference - Week 4 - Beekmentown Eagles Vs Peru Indians - September 22nd 2018

Beekmantown's Jalen Belrose (1) with the leaping catch along the sidelines for the interception as part of a four-touchdown and two interception day. It would be week 4 of the Champlain valley athletic conference season and we feature probably the biggest game of the season the Beekmantown Eagles and Peru Indians. It wouldn't take long for the Eagles to take the 6-0 lead on a 65-yard touchdown reception by Jalen Belrose 1:15 into the game. Peru would come right back and take a 7-6 lead two minutes later on the 17-yard pass to Austin Carpenter. The Indians would extend there lead to 14-6 on Austin Carpenters' second touchdown of the quarter with 1:13 left in the quarter. The Eagles would get the game to 14-12 at 3:38 of the second quarter on the Jalen Belrose 33 yard reception. The Eagles would regain the lead at the 8:41 on Jalen Belrose third touchdown of the first half and make it 18-14. The game would stay there til 8 seconds into the 4th quarter when the Eagles extend there lead to 25-14 on Willam Colvard 30 yard reception. The Eagles would score again at 9:15 on Jalen Belrose 13 yard run for his fourth score of the game to make it 32-14. Although the Indians would keep fighting and make it 34-21 on a 5-yard pass to Robert Reynolds. With the 32-21 win, the Beekmantown Eagles go to 4-0 while the Peru Indians fall to 2-2 on the season. It would be week four of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference and would feature Au Sable Valley Patriots and the Saranac Chiefs. The game would take time to get going but eventually the Chiefs would take the 7-0 lead on Connor Recore's 2 yard pass at 10:52 of the second quarter. The game would stay there til the second half when Au Sable's Evan Snow gets the 2 yard TD run to make it 7-6. Although the Chiefs would answer right back on the next drive on a 50 yard touchdown pass to Jacob Nolan to make it 13-6 at 6:14 of the third quarter. . Then at the 10:05 mark of the quarter the Chiefs would extend the lead to 21-6 on the 65 yard pass to Connor Recore, Then in the closing seconds of the third the Chiefs would put the game away on Jacob Nolan's 15 yard td pass to secure the 27-6 victory. With the win the Saranac Chiefs go to 3-1 while the Au Sable Valley Patriots falls to 0-4 on the season. Gallery

It would be week 3 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference between cross town rivals as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Peru Indians. It would be a hard hitting game from the start and it would take til the second quarter for the first score of the game. In that first score the Peru Indians would take the 7-0 lead on the Kasen Brennan 6 yard score at the 6:25. Although the Hornets would answer back on a 30 yard pass to Tyler Phillips to tie the game at seven. Then in the closing seconds of the half the Hornets would add a 30 yard field goal from Liam Rascoe for the 10-7 lead at intermission. At the 8:42 mark of the third quarter the Hornets would extend there lead to 17-7 on the Tyler Phillips score. Although the Indians would keep fighting and get a late score from Alex Palmer. Although it would not be enough as the Hornets get the 17-13 victory. With the win the Hornets go to 3-0 as they head to Moriah next week. While the Peru Indians fall to 2-1 and head to Beekmentown next weekend. Gallery

Plattsburgh's Lestyn Williams (42) stretches out for the touchdown to give the Hornets the lead. It would be week 2 of the Champlain Valley Atheletic Conference season and it would feature the Ausable Valley Patriots and the Plattsburgh Hornets. The Horners would get the opening score of the game on a run by Lestyn Williams for the 7-0 lead at 3:52 of the first quarter. The game would be a very defensive game and the game would stay there all the way through the first half. When the teams would come back for the third quarter the Patriots would finally get on the board on a 63 yard pass to Louie Perez although they would miss the extra point and the Hornets would keep a 7-6 advantage. The game would stay there til the final three minutes of the game when the Hornets would expand there lead to 14-6 on a four yard run by Lestyn Williams and secure the victory. In the winning effort the Hornets go to 2-0 while the Patriots fall to 0-2 on the season. Next will the Horners will be at home as they host the Peru Indians and the Patriots will travel and take on the Saranac Lake Red Strom. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference - Week 1 - Peru Indians Vs Ticonderoga Sentinels - September 1st 2018

Peru's Kasen Brennan (1) with the stiff arm on the defender that drops him as he gains the first down. It would be the opening week of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season and the last game of the week would feature the Peru Indians and the Ticonderoga Sentinels. The Indians wouldn't take long to jump out to the lead as they would strike with a 71-yard pass to Austin Carpenter 2:06 into the game for the 7-0 lead. On the next defense drive, they would block the punt for a safety and have a 9-0 lead. Then at the 7:41 mark of the first quarter, they would add a 2 yard run from Brayden Miner for the 15-0 lead. Right off in the second quarter, they would score on an 18-yard pass to Austin Carpenter for the 22-0 lead. Then at 4:45 mark of the quarter, they would score on a Kasen Brennan 17 yard touchdown pass for the 28-0 lead at the break. In the second the Indians wouldn't let up as they would score three more times for the 48-0 victory. With the victory, the Indians start there season at 1-0 while the Sentinels fall to 0-1 on the season. Gallery

Saranac Lake's Braden Ryan (1) fends off tacklers as he takes it around the edge for the extra yardage. It would be the opening night of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference football season and we would see the Platsburgh Hornets host the Saranac Lake Red Storm. The Hornets would tske the 6-0 lead on the 32 yard run by Lestyn Williams. Lestyn Williams would strike again on a 15 yard run at 8:02 of the first quarter to extend there lead to 13-0. In the first few seconds of the second quarter the Horners would strike again with a 22 yard pass to Zack Bieber to make it 20-0 and thats where the game would be at halftime. When the teams came back for the second half the Horners wouldn't take long to extend the lead as Liam Rascoe would run back the opening kick 88 yards for the 26-0 lead. In the fourth quarter in the last two minutes of the game the Hornets would strike on more time with a 65 yard run by Andrew Swiesz to secure the 32-0 victory. In the winning effort the Plattsburgh Hornets would go to 1-0 while the Saranac Lake Red Storm would fall to 0-1 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh North Stars Vs Glens Falls Greenjackets - Empire Football League - July 28th 2018

D.J. Barber (42) goes low on the wide receiver to break up the pass over the middle. It would be week four of the Empire Football League and it would feature the Plattsburgh North Stars and the Glens Falls Greenjackets. In the first quarter the North Stars would score twice from Elija Parks and Tre Bucci for the 14-0 lead. In the second quarter it would be more of the same as the North Stars would score three times twice from Elija Parks and once by Harry Rascoe. When the teams came back for the second half the North Stars would continue the dominances as they would score twice to secure the 50-0 victory. In the winning effort, the North Stars go to 2-2 on the season. Their next game will be on the road to play Tri-Cities on August 4th. Gallery
