Plattsburgh State's Courtney Moriarty (18) with the goal from her knees as she slides it across the goal line. It would be the finals of the UNO Classic as former conference foes the #2 Plattsburgh State Cardinals host the #3 Elmira Soaring Eagles. The Eagles would get the opening goal of the game at 12:03 of the first period from Katie Granato. The Eagles would extend the lead to 2-0 on Durnell's goal at 18:16 of the first period. The Cardinals would immediately make it a one-goal game again on Courtney Moriarty's goal 22 seconds later. The Cardinals would come out firing in the second period and tie the game up at 2 30 seconds into the second period on Mackenize Mullen's goal. Although just over two minutes later the Soaring Eagles would regain the 3-2 lead on Emma Crooker's goal. The Eagles would add an empty netter in the closing minute to secure the 4-2 victory. With the win, the Elmira Soaring Eagles would be crowned the 2017 UNO Classic champion. While the Cardinals would fall to 6-2 behind Brooke Wolejko's 20 save night. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Kassi Abbott (29) with the pad save on the close-range shot as part of her 28 save shutout night. It would be a rematch of the last year's national championship as the #2 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host #4 Adrian Bulldogs in the semi-finals of the UNO Classic. In a game that would live up to all the hype, it would be the defenses that would be on display. The lone goal of the game would come from Courtney Moriarty on a scramble play in front of the net with seven seconds left in the first period. That would be all the Cardinals would need as they hold on for the 1-0 victory behind 28 saves from Kassi Abbott. As the Cardinals go to 6-1 on the season and will face the Elmira Soaring Eagles in the finals of the UNO Classic. Gallery

Show Me Your TD's Foster Ebersole with the leaping catch in the endzone in traffic for the score. It would be week two of the Indoor Flag Football season and it would feature Show Me Your TD's and Kings of the North. It would be a game that Shows Me Your TD's would be in control of from the start as they would have a 41-6 lead by halftime. In the second half, it would be more of the same as they would win the half 26-0 and secure the 67-6 victory. In the winning effort Show Me Your TD's go to 1-1 while Kings of the North fall to 0-2 on the season. Gallery.

It would be opening night of the season for Plattsburgh State Men's Basketball as they would host the Keene State Owls. It would be a tight contest throughout the game as the Owls would have the 39-34 lead at the break. In the second half, the Cardinals would due there best to stay in the game although the Owls would win the half 34-32 and secure the 73-66 victory. In the losing effort, Nick Deangelis would lead the way with 16 points as the Cardinals would fall to 0-1 on the season. Gallery.

Plattsburgh State's Frannie Merkel (20) drives down the lane and lays it up and off the window for the basket. It would be the third-place game of the Cardinal Classic as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would take on the Clarkson Golden Knights. The game would be tight from the start as the Golden Knights would have the 19-16 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Cardinals would fight back and win the quarter 16-12 and have the 32-31 lead at intermission. When the teams came back for the second half the Golden Knights would regain the lead by winning the quarter 15-13 and have the 46-45 lead. In the fourth quarter, the Golden Knights would be too much for the Cardinals as they won the quarter 18-14 as the Cardinals fall 64-59. In the losing effort, Frannie Merkel would lead the way with seven points as the Cardinals would fall to 0-2 on the season. Gallery.

The game would remain scoreless until the 4:16 mark of the second period when Courtney Moriarty would score to make it 1-0 Cardinals. The game would remain there til 14:34 of the second when Mackenzie Millen would score to make it 2-0 Cardinals. The game would remain there until 8:36 of the third period when Ashley Songrin would score to make it 3-0 Cardinals The scoring would end at the 14:38 mark when Courtney Moriarty would score on the power play for her second goal of the night as the Cardinals would secure the 4-0 victory. In the winning effort, Kassi Abbott would make 24 saves in the shutout effort as the Cardinals go to 4-1 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Frannie Merkel (20) drives the lane and takes the chop to the neck as she goes to lay it off the window. It would be opening night for the Plattsburgh State Cardinals Women's basketball team as they host the Plymouth State Panthers in the first round of the Cardinal Classic. It would be a very even game throughout the first quarter as the Cardinals would have the slimest of leads at 12-11 at the end of the first. The Panthers would comeback and inch ahead as they would win the quarter 19-13 and have a 30-25 lead at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Panthers would inch further ahead as they win the quarter 12-11 and have a 42-36 lead as they ahead into the fourth. In the fourth quarter the Cardinals would do the best to make up the difference but it wouldn't be enough as they would tie the quarter at 17 and fall in the game 59-53. In the losing effort Taylor Durrin and Taylor Clare would lead the way with nine points as the Cardinals fall to 0-1 on the season. Gallery.

Moriah's Matt Pelkey (44) curs back to the whole for the gain to give them the first down. It would be the #Moriah Vikings hosting the #2 Cambridge Indians in the Quarterfinals of the New York State Class D Tournament. The Indians would get the scoring started early on a 54 yard run by English 37 seconds into the game for the 6-0 lead. The game would remain there til 1:24 of the second quarter when Vikings Matt Pelkey would tie the game up at 6 on a one-yard run. The Indians would regain the 12-6 lead on a 7 yard run by Dean at 6:31. Then in the closing minute of the half, the Vikings would score on a 1 yard run by Dewey Snyder to take the 14-12 lead to intermission. When the teams came back for the second half the Indians would regain the lead at 18-14 on a 1 yard run from Dean at 6:08. Although the Vikings would not be denied as they would retake the 20-18 lead on a 46-yard touchdown pass to Dewey Snyder. Although from there on it would be the Indians game as they would score 36 unanswered points helped by four Vikings turnovers. As the Indians would defeat the Vikings 54-20 and bring an end to the Moriah Vikings season at 9-2. Gallery.

Plattsburgh State's Kassi Abbott (29) with the blocker save that she sends over the net as part of a 26 save night. It would be a match up between the top two ranked teams as #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #2 Norwich Cadets. The Cadets would get the quick opening goal as Sophie McGovern would score 29 seconds into the game. The Cardinals return fire and score two goals just over a minute apart at the four-minute mark from Kayla Meneghien and Courtney Moriarty for the 2-1 lead. The Cadets would tie the game at two at 5:06 on the Muranda Toews goal. The game would remain there until the 3:57 nark of the third period when Sophie McGovern would score on the power play to make it 3-2. Then at the 10:11 mark, the Cadets would double there lead on the Bryn Labbe goal. The Cardinals would keep fighting and would get a goal late from Kayla Meneghien's second goal of the night. Although it would be enough as the Cardinals would fall 4-3. In the losing effort, Kassi Abbott would make 32 saves as the Cardinals go to 3-1 on the season. Gallery

It would be the first round of the New York State Class D Championship and it would feature the Chateaugay Bulldogs and the Argyle Scots. It would be four very tightly contested games, unfortunately, thought it would not be the night for the Bulldogs. The Argyle Scots would win in four games 25-19,25-21,17-25,25-17 with the lose the Chateaugay Bulldogs season comes to an end at 15-3 on the season. Gallery.

It would be a low scoring first half and St.John/Downs would have the 8-6 lead at the break. In the second the defense would continue to run the game as St. John/Downs would win the half 6-0 for the 14-6 victory. It would be the Championship of the North Country Flag Football League between Team Malinak and Team St. Johns/Downs. It would be a game that Team Malinak would have control and not let up they would have a 14-0 lead at the half. In the second half, it would be more of the same as Team Malinak would win the half 10-0 to secure the 24-0 victory. With the winning Team, Malinak would be crowned the 2017 North Country Flag Football Champions.Gallery.

Peru Indians Vs Gouvenour Wildcats November 4th 2017

Peru's Austin Carpenter (3) with the catch along the sidelines with the defender right in his face. It would be the opening round of the New York State Class B Tournament as the Peru Indians would meet the Gouvenour Wildcats. The Wildcats would open up the scoring on a long run to make it 8-0 2:07 into the first quarter. The Indians would come right back on a 60 yard run by Kasen Brennan 36 seconds later to make the score 8-6. The Wildcats would score on there first play of the next drive to extend there lead to 16-6. Then just 30 seconds later the wildcats would score again to extend there lead to 22-6. The Indians would cut into the deficit on a 59-yard pass to Robert Reynolds at 3:35 to make it 22-12. The game would stay there til the 5:32 mark of the 2nd quarter when Austin Carpenter would score on a 6-yard pass to make it 22-18. Although the Wildcats would march right down the field and scored on a 15-yard touchdown pass at 9:28 to make it 28-18. Although the Indians would come back and make it 28-25 with 1 second left in the half on a 8 yard pass to Carson Cunningham to make it 28-25 t the half. Although when the team teams returned for the second the Wildcat offense would prove to be to much for the Indians as they would outscore them 27-6 as the Indians would fall 57-31. With the loss, the Indians' season would come to an end at the end of 3-7. Gallery.

Tupper Lake Lumberjacks Vs #10 Moriah Vikings - November 3rd 2017

Moriah's Mark Maye (54) and Luis Meldina-Flores (21) swarm the runner for the tackle behind the line. It would be the 1st Round of the New York State Class D Tournament and it would feature the #10 Moriah Vikings against the Tupper Lake Lumberjacks. This would be a game that would be in doubt from the opening kickoff as Moriah would have a 37-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Scoring in the first quarter would by Dewey Snyder (2 running touchdowns), Rob Flack (2 running touchdowns) along with number 29. In the second quarter, Moriah would slow up there attack and only get one score from Sam Gangi for the 44-0 lead at the half. In the second half, it would be more of the same as the Vikings would win it 13-6 and secure the 57-6 victory. In the winning effort, the Vikings go to 9-1 and will host the winner from Section II next weekend at Ausable Valley High school. Gallery.

Chateaugay Bulldogs Vs Madrid Waddington Yellow Jackets November 1st 2017

The Chateaugay Bulldogs pose for there team photo as they are crowned the 2017 Section X Class D Champions for the tenth straight year. It would be the Section X Class D Championship as the #1 seeded Chateaugay Bulldogs would face the #2 seeded Madrid Waddington Yellow Jackets. The Bulldogs would get a challenge from the Yellow although it would not be enough as the Bulldogs would win in straight sets 3-0 (25-14,25-15,25-20). With the win, the Bulldogs go to the State Playoff tournament starting next week as they play the winner from Section II. Gallery.
