Chateaugay's Rebecca Roach (6) with the shot she sends to the bottom far corner for the goal. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host fellow Section X East Division foe the St. Regis Falls Saints. The Bulldogs would leave little doubt in the game as they would score in the 1st minute and would be off to the races. The Bulldogs would get seven goals in the first half to take a 7-0 lead. It would be more of the same in the second half as they would get five more goals as they cruise to the 12-0 win. Leading the way in the goal department for the Bulldogs would be Hannah Cook with four goals. Along with Danielle Charland and Katie Beach adding two apiece. With the win, the Bulldogs go to 2-0 as they play rival Brushton-Moria on September 13. Gallery

Stan Russell Benefit Dinner Ellenburg Center, NY September 7 2013

Supporters for Stan Russell are sitting down and having their spaghetti dinner. The Ellenburg Center Fire Department would have a spaghetti dinner to benefit there Fire Chief Stan Russell to help with the medical bills. There would be around 250 people that would come throughout the benefit. There would also be a 50/50 drawing along with a Chinese auction. The crowd would be study form the time it started right through the end. There were also many people that were taking orders to go. Gallery

Saranac Chiefs Vs Au Sable Valley Patriots September 7 2013

Saranac's John Maye (26) goes low on Au Sable Valley's John Goodnough (7) and takes him out of outbounds for the stop. The Saranac Chiefs would open up the season at home against the Au Sable Valley Patriots. The Chiefs would take the 7-0 lead with 1:46 left in the 1st quarter when Ethan Goslin would find Lance Hackett in the endzone for the touchdown. Although the Patriots would come right back and score on there next drive to make the score 7-6. On the in suing kickoff the Chiefs would cough up the ball and the Patriots would score. Then with 5:02 left in the half, the Chiefs would regain the lead at 14-12 on John Maye touchdown run. Then just over a minute later the Chiefs would extend there lead to 20-14 when John Maye would score on the touchdown run off a Patriot turnover. The Patriots would answer back though before the end of the half to tie the game at 20-20 at the break. When the teams came out of the break the Chiefs would start to take control of the game and regain the lead on John Maye's third touchdown run from the 5-yard line and would get the two-point conversion to make it 28-20. Then with the 4th quarter starting the Chiefs would score again behind John Maye to make it 34-20. Just three minutes later the Patriots would race down the field and score on John Goodnough runs to make it 34-28 and get back in the game. Then with 3:30 left the Chiefs would finish the Patriots off on Ethan Goslin's run to make it a 42-28 Chiefs win. Leading the way for the Chiefs in the win would be John Maye with 198 yards and four touchdowns. With the win, the Chiefs start the season at 1-0 as they head on the road to Beekmantown for week 2.

Chateaugay's Danielle Charland (12) takes it down the wing battling with Salmon River's Tonya Armstrong on her way to the net. Charland would have two goals on the win. The Chateaugay Bulldogs and Salmon River Shamrocks would get there season started in nonleague action. The Bulldogs would get the scoring started with Danielle Charland's goal in the 12th minute assist to Hannah Cook. Then just five minutes later Brianna Cook would get the unassisted goal to make it 2-0. Then in the 21st minute, Danielle Charland would score her second of the night with the assist going to Katie Beach 3-0. Salmon River would finally get on the broad in the 31st minute on the Tstoprnhariio Hearn penalty kick to make it 3-1. The Bulldogs would end the scoring in the 74 minutes on Rachel Young's goal assist to Katie Beach (second). In the winning effort, the Bulldogs goaltenders would save two shots while Salmon River's Wraven Sunday would stop twelve. As the Bulldogs would go to 1-0 and Shamrocks fall to 0-1. Gallery

Matt Ferry with Rotten Mean and Nasty twist the front of the tractor as he carries the wheels down the track to the win the Modified Tractor division. The New York State Tractor Pullers would return to the Vermont State Fair for there annual labor day hook. They would have 42 hooks spread over the Super Farm Tractors, Two Wheel Drive Trucks, Modified Tractors and Super Stock Tractors. The event would go one over the threat of rain throughout the day and the overcast sky would make for great horsepower and put on a great show for the fans. The winners on the day would be Just Money in Super Farm, Wolfman (Two Wheel Drive Trucks) Rotten Mean and Nasty (Modified Tractors), and Forced Decision (Super Stock Tractors). Gallery

Tyler Audette and Pure Breed Red carry the front wheel down the track from 125 feet on eventually digging in at the 302 feet mark for a sixth place in the Super Farm Tractors. The Vermont Tractor Pullers and New York Tractor Pullers would put on a combined show that Champlain Valley Fair. There would be around 40 hooks on the night divided into five classes (VT Mini Rods A & B, Econo 2wd Trucks, Super Farm Tractors, and 2.6 Cheater Trucks. There would be a decent crowd on hand and would be entertained to make them with all the smoke and noise and even some breakage. Everyone is looking forward to having them back again next year. Store Tavern Vs Lereux Fuels August 26 2013

Store Tavern's Matt Orsmby (12) with the diving catch in center field to keep his team in the game. The Store Tavern and Leroux Fuels would meet for game two of the best of five series in the first round. The Store Tavern would have to play a man short as they would have an injury in the 1st inning. The teams would trade runs in the first inning both scoring two runs as the game would be tied at 2. Then the rain would come and not quit the rest of the night. That is where the game would remain until the 3rd when Leroux Fuels would score four and the Store Tavern would get three to make it a 6-5 game. Then in the fourth inning would score five runs to make it 11-5 in the fifth. The game would be called after the fifth inning does the field being unplayable. With the Leroux, Fuel wins the series is tied at 1 with game three coming August 28. Gallery

Store Tavern's Jeff Norton (8) with the tag out on Leroux Fuels base runner sliding into third. The Adirondack Slow Pitch League would start their playoffs tonight as the #3 Leroux Fuels would take on the #6 Store Tavern in game one of a five-game series. The Store Tavern would take a 1-0 lead in the second. They would extend there lead to 4-0 with three runs in the third. Then in fourth, the Store Tavern would get two, and Leroux Fuels would get one to make it 6-1. Then in the fifth, the Store Tavern would get two while Leroux Fuels would get three to make it 8-4. Then in seventh Leroux Fuels would force extra innings by getting four runs thanks to a three-run homer. With the game tied at eight, the teams would trade runs in the eighth and ninth to keep the game tied at 10-10. The Store Tavern would finish the game in the tenth as they would score two and secure the 12-10 win. The Store Tavern takes the 1-0 lead headed to game two on August 26. Gallery

Store Tavern's Kyle Kowolski (9) makes solid contact on the pitch and sends a deep fly to the outfield. The Store Tavern would take on Northern Cake Redemption in the season finale of the Adirondack Slow Pitch League. The Tavern would jump out to a quick 4-0 lead in the first inning and not look back from there. They would another 4 spots in the second to make it 8-0. Then add two runs in the 4th and 5th inning to get secure the 12-1 win. With the win, the Store Tavern finishes the season at 9-12 and gets the #6 seed in the upcoming playoffs where they play #3 Leroux Fuels in the Quarterfinals August 22. Gallery

Plattsburgh North Stars Vs Vermont Ice Storm August 17 2013

Plattsburgh's Alec Currier (3) stretches out and puts his hand on the ball and rips it out for the fumble. The Plattsburgh North Stars would face their rivals from across the lake the Vermont Ice Storm in Empire Football League action. It would not take the North Stars long to get on the broad they would score on the opening drive to make it 7-0 on DJ Barber's TD Reception. The Stars would get another one near the end of the quarter on Dexter Geohagan touchdown to make it 13-0. Then in second quarter, the North Stars would score twice more Jamil McCray's and Chris Fish's touchdown receptions to make it 27-0 at the half. When the teams would return for the second it would be more of the same. The North Stars would get two more scores one on Harry Rascoe's sneak from the one-yard line and Craig Bujold's reception to make it 41-0. Then in the fourth quarter, the North Stars would add one more just for good measure as Harry Rascoe would scramble for 40 yards to make it 47-0. The Ice Storm would get one score late to break up the shutout. As the North Stars would cruise to a 47-7 win and go to 5-1 in Empire Football League as they head to Syracuse next week to take on the Syracuse Shock. Gallery
