Saranac's John Maye (26) breaks the tackle around the edge and takes it for one of four touchdowns on the day. In the second game of the championship, Saturday the Saranac Lake Red Storm would meet the Saranac Chiefs in the Class C Championship. Saranac Lake would have the only score in the first quarter on Dylan Gunther 11 yard touchdown reception with 3:06 left to make it 7-0 Red Storm. Then just 1:19 into the second quarter the Chiefs would tie the game up on John Maye's touchdown. Then just three minutes later Maye would strike again to make it 14-7 Chiefs. The Red Storm would answer back with 4:03 left in the half on a short field goal to make it 14-10. The Chiefs would extend there lead to 21-10 on John Maye's third touchdown of the day with 1:57 left before half. Saranac Lake would strike quick and make it 21-16 at the half on Dan Strack's touchdown. When the teams would return for the second half the Red Storm would take there first lead of the game at 3:50 of the third on a short touchdown run to give them 24-21 lead. That is where the score would remain until the Chiefs would retake the lead on John Maye's fourth touchdown of the day at 28-24 with 4:03 left in the game. Then with just 1 minute left in the game the Red Storm would get the game-winning touchdown to Dylan Gunther for the 30-28 win. With the win the Red Storm goes to 5-4 on the season and will play Ogdensburg in State Tournament first-round November 8th at Potsdam. Gallery

Beekmantown's Quenton Barber (88) wraps up Peru's Revilno Hendricks (9) on his attempt to take around the end. The Beekmantown Eagles and Peru Indians would meet in the Section VII Class B Championship at Ausable Valley with a berth in the state tournament on the line. Beekmantown would take the 7-0 lead on their first drive of the game on a Justin Stevens 11 yard run. Then inside the last minute of the first quarter Justin Stevens would strike again to give the Eagles the 14-0 lead. Peru would get on the broad 11 seconds into the second quarter on a Ryan Lovely 45 yard touchdown reception to make it 14-7. Beekmantown would answer back 4 minutes later on a Devin Fesette 60 yard touchdown run to make it 20-7. Peru's Taylor Avanzato would score on a 5 yard run at 7:52 of the second quarter to make it 20-14. Then to end the second quarter fury Justin Stevens would score from 17 yards out to make it 27-14 with 2.13 left til halftime. In the third quarter Zane Bazzano would have the lone score off a 14-yard touchdown at 8:13 to make it 27-21 Eagles. Then 2:28 Zane Bazzano and the Indians would strike again to give the Indians there first lead of the day. The Eagles wouldn't give up though and after an Indian fumble Justin Stevens would score for his third touchdown of the day to give the Eagles the 33-28 lead and win. With the win the Beekmantown Eagles go to 5-4 on the season and play the Malone Huskies in the Quarterfinals of the State Tournament on November 9th at Ausable Valley. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Football Week 7 Beekmantown Eagles Vs Ausable Valley Patriots October 19 2013

Beekmantown's Quenten Barber (88) with the leaping catch across the middle of the field in traffic. The Beekmantown Eagles would host the Ausable Valley Patriots in the final week of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season. The Eagles would have a 14-0 lead after the first quarter on two scores from Justin Stevens one rushing and the other on a punt return. The Patriots would try to keep it close when Scott Douglas would score on a 15-yard reception at 1:29 in. The Eagles would answer right back with Justin Stevens's third touchdown on the day at 5:31 to make it 21-6. The Eagles would extend the lead to 28-6 on Kyle Dupingey on a 35-yard touchdown. With ten seconds left in the half, Jacob Remchuk would scramble from 9 yards out to make it 35-6 at the break. Just 1:47 into the second half it would be more of the same as Quenton Barber would score a 65-yard punt return to make it 42-6. Then at the 6-minute mark of third Devin Fessette would take it up the middle from 5 yards out for the score to make it 48-6. Then just as the fourth quarter would start the Eagles would strike one last time this time from Kyle Dupingey for the 55-6 victory. With the win, the Eagles would finish the season at 4-3 while Patriots fall to 1-6.

The Shock would take the early 8-0 on their opening drive. The North Stars would fight right back and tie the game at 8 on Dexter Geoghan touchdown. Although the Shock would score one more before the end of the quarter to make it 14-8 Shock. The North Stars would take the 15-14 lead on Brett Boyers 62 yard touchdown score. From there on it would be a shocking game as they would have 22 unanswered points to secure the 36-15 victory for the championship. Gallery

The Red Storm would strike twice and the Eagles once on Devin Fessetes score to make it 14-7 after one. Then in second quarter, the teams would trade scores with the Eagles score coming from Cameron Garceau to make it 21-14 Red Storm at the break. That is where the game would remain until the earlier part of the 4th when the Eagles would tie the game up at 21 on Justin Stevens running score. Although on the Red Storm drive they would march right down the field and score the game-winner to give the Red Storm the 28-21 victory. With the win, the Red Storm goes to 4-2 while the Eagles fall to 3-3 on the season.

Plattsburgh's Joshua Nephew (32) lowers the shoulder and goes right through the Glens Falls defender. The Plattsburgh North Stars would host the Glens Falls Greenjackets in the semi-finals of the Empire Football League playoffs. The North Stars would have a 7-0 lead after the first quarter on DJ Barber's touchdown. The scoring would pick up in the second quarter with three scores by the two teams to make it a 21-6 North Stars lead at the breaks the North Stars scores would come from Dexter and Elisa Parks. In the second the Greenjackets would do there best to stay in the game and that's just what they did scoring twice but the North Stars would get one score late from Elisa Parks to secure the 28-20 victory. With the win, the Plattsburgh North Stars will host next week's championship game against the Syracuse Shock as the North Stars advanced to their fifth straight title game. Gallery

Saranac's (24) wraps up the legs and holds tight to bring down Peru's Ryan Lovely (11). The Saranac Chiefs would host the Peru Indians in week 6 of the Champlain Valley Football League league season. It would be the battle of a couple of schools that just don't like each other and at times it would show. The Indians would strike first 3:30 on a fumble recovery in the endzone for a score to make it 7-0 Indians. Then at the 8-minute mark the Indians would score again this time hooking up with Zane Bazzano on a 45-yard pass to make it 14-0. The Chiefs would get on the broad just over a minute later on John Maye's touchdown run to make it 14-6. Then just three minutes into the second quarter the Indians would hit Bazzano again this time on a bomb to make it 20-6. Then just two minutes later it would be Bazzamo again to make it 27-6. Then as the first half would come to an end the Indians and Rivelino Hendricks would score from five yards out to make it 34-6 at the break. When the teams return for the second half it was more of the same as the Indians and Hendricks would score at the nine-minute mark to make it 41-6. From there on out the teams would cruise it on out. With the win, the Indians stay undefeated at 6-0 and the Chiefs fall to 2-4 on the season.
