The local area snow sled clubs from Ellenburg, Plattsburgh, Peru, and Saranac held there 3rd annual sled drags for the second straight year at the Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, NY. There were about 50 competitors in the 10 different classes that competed to benefit the different clubs. Everyone was very pleased with the turnout and are looking forward to next year's races. As can be seen from the picture were getting a great bite off the line with good track conditions. Gallery

Plattsburgh North Stars vs Massena Sliver & Black September 26th 2009

The Plattsburgh North Stars entered the playoffs as the #3 seed and would host the #6 Massena Silver & Black in the opening round of the playoffs. In a game that was never in doubt, the North Stars would advance with a 42-6 win and travel to Chateaugay on October 3rd to take on the #2 seed and Empire Football League champions Quebec Titans for the right to go to the championship. There were a few records that were set during the game as Brandon Keleher #40 (pictured) would become the second North Star in history to run for over 1,000 yards in a season. Along with Kenny Stay setting a team record with six touchdown passes and Matt St. Clair with 4 touchdown reception. Gallery

The Plattsburgh North Stars got back to winning ways with a 13-0 win over rival the Vermont Ice Storm. With the win, the North Stars improve to 7-2 in the Empire Football and 9-2 on the season. The North Stars now control their own faith heading into the last week of the regular season at the Quebec Titans in hopes of getting the no.2 seed in the playoffs and the all-important 1st round bye.
