However, when the second quarter would start the Knights would find their stroke on the shot as they would have a 22-9 quarter and the Knights would take a 33-29 lead into the intermission. When the teams would return for the third quarter they both would make the tight adjustments as they would have an even quarter with 14 a piece but the Knights would take the 47-43 lead into the fourth. In that fourth quarter Knights would have just a better ten minutes with a 20-15 quarter and secure the 67-58 victory. It would be the last game of the Cardinal Classic and between the host Plattsburgh State Cardinals and the Castleton State Spartans in what would be the third-place game as they were both coming off losses. The game would start well for the home Cardinals as they would start with a 17-10 lead after the 1st quarter. However, in the second quarter, the Spartans would come charging back with a 20-12 quarter and the Spartans would have a slim 30-29 lead at the intermission. When the teas returned from the intermission break the Spartanns would use the quarter to take control of the game with a 20-9 quarter and 50-38 lead overall. In that fourth quarter, the Cardinals would do everything they could to get back in the game but all they could do was cut the deficit in half with a 21-15 quarter giving the Spartans the 65-59 victory. In the losing effort, Payton Couture would lead the Cardinals with a game-high 20 points as they go to 2-2 on the season. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would be looking to right the ship against the Geneseo State Knights as they come in losing their last two games. Although the game would not start off very well for the Cardinals as would be trailing the Knights 23-2 after the first quarter. The Cardinals would start to get their shot going in the second quarter but it still wouldn't be enough as the Knights have a 28-11 quarter and take a 51-13 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned to the court for the third quarter the teams would be a lot more equal as the Knights would have the slim 16-15 advantage in the quarter and take the 67-28 lead into the 4th quarter. In the fourth, the teams would have their second strings out there in mop-up efforts and the Knights would have the 17-6 edge as they would get the 84-34 victory. In a losing effort for the Cardinals, Izzy Wilbur would lead the way for the Cardinals with 12 points as they go to 6-11 on the season. Gallery

The game would not start off the greatest though for the home Cardinals as they would be playing catch up with the Saints throughout the half and the Saints would have a 41-33 lead after the first half. When the teams would come back for the second half the Cardinals would try the best to keep the game close as it would be under a five point defecit a few times in the half but that would be cloest they could get as the Saints would win the half 36-32 and hold on for the 77-65 win. Although the Cardinals would lose Kevin Tabb would lead all scores with 22 points as the Cardinals fall to 1-2 while the Saints would get there season started with a win. Gallery

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would be back in action tonight against north country foe the St. Lawrence Saints in non conference action at memorial hall on the suny plattsburgh campus. The game would start off good for the home Cardinals as they would be doubling up the Saints at the end of the first quarter with a 16-8 lead. Then in the second quarter the Saints would come charging back with a 19-10 quarter and have a slim 27-26 lead at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Cardinals would find there shoot again with a 16-12 quarter and take the 42-39 lead into the final quarter. In the final quarter the Saints would find there shoot and have a slightly better quarter at 21-16 which would give the Saints the 60-58 win. In the losing effort a pair of Cardinals would lead all scores with fourteen points for Mya Smith and Hannah Ruberto as they go to 2-2 on the season. Gallery

When the teams came back for the second half the game would remain close as the Cardinals would win the half 45-41 and take the 76-71 victory. It would be the opening night of the 2022-23 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Women's Basketball as they would take fellow north country foe the Clarkson Golden Knights. It would start off tight but the Cardinals would have the slim lead after the first quarter with a 15-11 quarter. In the second quarter the game would stay the same with the Cardinals winning the quarter by a 16-14 margin and take a 31-25 lead into the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Golden Knights would keep up the fight to keep the game close and even cut into the defecit with a 22-18 quarter to 49-47 Cardinals as they head to the last quarter. In that final stanza the game couldn't get any closer as it would be a 12-12 quarter and the Cardinals would hold onto to the 61-59 victory. With the win the Cardinals would get there season started off right as they go to 1-0 and Bri Brousseau would lead the way with a 16 point night as the Golden Knights fall to 0-1 on the season.
