Plattsburgh State's Riley Sutherland (27) goes one-on-one with Morrisville State's Grant Linville (1) as he comes in on the net. The Cardinals would return home for the second straight night as this time they would take on SUNYAC contender the Morrisville State Mustangs from the Ronnie B in front of 1600 fans on Casella Teddy Bear toss night. The game would start well for the Cardinals as they would get the game's opening goal from Tio D'Addario at the 6:09 mark of the first period. The lead would only stay at one for a short time as the Cardinals would extend their lead to 2-0 just over a minute later on the Colin Callanan goal. The game would remain there till the 3:44 mark of the third period when Jake Sacratini power-play goal to give the Cardinals a 3-0 lead. The Mustangs would finally be able to get on the board at the 9:03 mark of the third period when they would light the lamp on the Evan Fraccaro power play goal. The Cardinals would waste little time regaining their three-goal lead when Ryan Poorman scored a shorthanded goal 40 seconds later, making it a 4-1 game. The Cardinals would control the game from there for the win as they go to 3-3 on the season. Jacon Hearne would make 11 saves on the night, and they go to 3-3 season. The Cardinals will return to action next weekend in Middlebury for the annual Layer 8 shootout. Gallery

The #7 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would return home for the first time since November 2nd, and this time, they would take on SUNYAc for the Buffalo State Bengals in front of 360 fans at the Ronnie B Stafford Ice Arena. The Cardinals would open the scoring on the power play with Kayson Ruegge's goal at the 13:37 mark of the first period. The Cardinals would waste little time extending their lead to 2-0 on Tessa Morris's goal 2 minutes later. The game would remain there till the 11:05 mark of the third period when Mae Olshansky would score for the Cardinals and make it a 3-0 game. Then, to finish off the scoring for the Cardinals, a minute later, Kate Conlon lights the lamp and makes it a 4-0, and that's where the game would finish. In the winning effort for the Cardinals, Chloe Lewis would make nine saves on the day for the shutout, and the Cardinals would go to 4-1. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would open up the home portion of their season in a rematch of the SUNYAC Championship from last season as they would take on the Cortland State Red Dragons in front of a packed house at the Ronnie B. The game would start great for the home Cardinals as they would get the opening goal just 8 minutes in on the shorthanded goal from Josh Belgrave for the 1-0 lead. The Red Dragons would return just 4 minutes later and tie the game up on the Nate Boak goal. Then, just 2 minutes after that, the Red Dragons could take the lead on the Nathan Garnier goal and make it a 2-1 game. The game would stay there till the 13:53 mark of the second period when the Red Dragons would extend their lead to 3-1. The defense would hold tall, and that's where the game ended as the Red Dragons would get the 3-1 victory. In the winning effort for the Red Dragons, they would go to 4-2 in the season, and Ronan Mobley would make 21 saves on the night. The Cardinals would fall to 2-3 in the season as Jacob Hearne made 24 saves. NCAA Quarterfinals: #2 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs #6 Middlebury Panthers March 9th 2024

Middlebury's Audrey Lazar with the opening goal of the game to give the Panthers the 1-0 lead. It would be time to start the NCAA Division III Women's Hockey Tournament again from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena as the #4 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #6 Middlebury Panthers as the classic rivals would meet again with a ticket to the final four on the line in front of 900 passionate fans. The visiting Panthers would get the opening goal of the first period just over the halfway mark of the first period and take the 1-0 lead on the Audrey Lazar goal. The game would stay there till the 7:32 mark of the second period when the Panthers would double their lead to 2-0 on the Kate Flynn goal. From there defense would be the main course on the menu as it would be the only two goals on the day but it would not be without some great effort by the Cardinals to try and get back in the game. In the winning effort for the Panthers, Sophia Will would make 30 saves for the shutout victory. As for the Cardinals Lilla Nease would do her best stopping 15 of 17 on the day but the Cardinals would fall short of the final four for the first time since the 2011 season as their season comes to an end at 22-5-1. The Middlebury Panthers punch their ticket to the 2024 NCAA Division III Women's Hockey Frozen Four with a 2-0 win over the Plattsburgh State Cardinals. The Cortland State Red Dragons have crowned the 2024 SUNYAC Men's Hockey champion with the 3-2 overtime victory over the Plattsburgh State Cardinals. It would be the SUNYAC Championship from the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse with the winner getting the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament in front of a sold-out crowd of 2,188 fans. It would be the #3 Plattsburgh State Cardinals hosting the #4 Cortland State Red Dragons and having seen the Cardinals win both regular season matches. The game would be tight through the first period with both teams getting their scoring chances but no one would be able to flip on the red light to get a goal and it would be scoreless after the first period. In the second period, we would get the first goal of the game, unfortunately, it would be the Cortland State Red Dragons getting the opening goal of the game at the 11:28 mark from Colby Seitz to make it a 1-0 game and that's how the second period would end. The Cardinals would waste no time tying the game up in the third period just 58 seconds in on the powerplay goal from Ryan Bonfield. The game would stay there till there was 4:38 left in the game the Red Dragons would regain the lead at 2-1 on the Nate Berke goal. Down the stretch, though the Cardinals would pull the goal to try and get the equalizer, and with 33 seconds left they would do just that on Ryan Bonfield’s second goal of the game and the game would head to overtime. In the overtime, the Red Dagons would get the game-winner as they would get the lead for the third and final time on the night on the Anthony Bernando goal and the 3-2 Dragons win. In the winning effort, Jack Riedell would make 41 saves on the night as the Cortland State Red Dragons get the conference's auto bid and head to the NCAA Tournament.
