Plattsburgh Sate's Trey Thomas (14) charges down the zone and rips it past the goal in traffic to give the Cardinals the 4-2 lead. It would be the start of the last weekend of regular season games from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena and the #5 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would be looking to avenge one of their four losses on the season as they would host the Buffalo State Bengals and make the push for the number 2 seed in the upcoming SUNYAC Conference Tournament. The Bengals would be looking to get the sweep of the Cardinals on the season and get off to a quick start as they would score just 2:53 into the game on the Anthony Morin goal. The game would stay there till there were five minutes left in the second period when the Cardinals would get the equalizer on the Kevin Weaver Vitale powerplay goal to make it a 1-1 game. The Bengals would regain the one-goal lead at 2-1 on the Joe Glamos powerplay goal. The lead would be short-lived though as the Cardinals would tie the game up 75 seconds later on the Jake Layni goal The Cardinals would get their first lead of the game at the 12:31 mark of the third period when Ryan Butler would score to give the Cardinals would get the lead at 3-2. Then with 3:30 left in the game, the Cardinals would extend their lead to 4-2 on the Trey Thomas goal. Then the closing minute of the game the Cardinals would put the icing on the cake with Ryan Butler's empty net goal. In the winning effort, Jacob Hearne would make 20 saves on the night as the Cardinals would go to 18-4-2 on the season as they head into the season finale against Fredonia State Blue Devils Saturday afternoon. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would make the trek across the state to take on the Bengals of Buffalo State in SUNYAC Men's Hockey. The game would not start well for the Cardinals as Connor Bizal would light the lamp for the Bengals just 1:54 into the game to give them the early 1-0 lead. The Bengals wouldn't waste time and expanding on their lead as it would go to 2-0 at the 6:22 mark of the period on the Tyler Penree goal. That is where the game would stay till the 4:58 mark of the second period when the Cardinals would get on the board on the Bennett Stockdale goal to cut the deficit to 2-1. The Bengals wouldn't waste time in regaining their two-goal lead on the Joe Glamos power-play goal to make it 3-1. However, the Cardinals would answer right back forty seconds later on the Thomas Maia goal and make it a one-goal game again at 3-2. Then just four minutes later the Cardinals would come back and tie the game at three on the Trey Thomas goal. The game would stay there till the 5:11 mark of the third period when the Bengals would take the lead again on the Vadim Kiriakov goal at 4-3. Once again the Cardinals would answer back in thirty seconds as Aaron Catron would score and tie the game at four. Then with just over two minutes left in the game, the Bengals would take the lead for the third and final time at 5-4 on the Parker Allison powerplay goal. They would add an empty netter to secure the 6-4 win. In the win Marcus Cumberworth would make 41 saves as they went to 5-8 while Elli Shiller would make 18 saves as the Cardinals fell to 9-2 on the season, Th Plattsburgh State Cardinals will be back in action tomorrow as they head to Fredonia and look to end their two-game losing streak, Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Jack Ring (22) with the shot on the net through the defender from just inside the blueline. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host cross-state foe the Buffalo State Bengals in SUNYAC Men's Hockey action. The game would start off good for the home Cardinals as they would get the opening goal just 2:23 into the game on the Paul Bryer for the 1-0 lead. The Bengals would answer back in about the same amount of time at the 5:06 mark from Nikita Kozyrev to tie the game at one. The Bengals would keep fighting and take the lead at the 12:04 mark of the first on the Tyler Vanuden for the 2-1 lead. The Cardinals would keep looking for the equalizer and they would get that equalizer at the 5:36 mark of the second period on Joey Mancuso's second goal of the night and tie the game at two. Then with just under three minutes left in the period, the Cardinals would regain the lead at 3-2 on the shorthanded goal by Pavel Kharin. The Bengals wouldn't let that stand though as they would for the third time on the night tied the game this time from Andrew Logar at the 7:26 mark of the third period. Although the Cardinals would put the Bengals away once and for all with their second short-handed goal of the game at the 14:29 mark of the third period thanks to Trey Thomas and secure the 4-3. In the winning effort, Jacob Hearne would make 17 saves as they go to 12-7-3 on the season and clinch their spot in the SUNYAC Tournament in a couple of weeks. Gallery
