The home Cardinals would get the first goal of the game just 2:23 in on the deflected goal by Mike English for the 1-0 lead. He would stay there until there was just about 2:30 left in the second period, when Wesleyan would tie the game at one on the Danny Markham goal. Then, with just 10 seconds left in the period, Latsburghburghe would regain the lead at 2-1 on Aaron Catron's goal.
