Adirondack Truck Tractor Pullers: Pulling For Logan Highgate, VT June 8 2013

Pat Silver with Ma and Pa Headache are digging as he takes a shot down the middle of the track during the Pro Stock 4x4 Truck class. The Franklin County Field Days in Highgate, VT would be home to the Pulling for Loan Benefit Pull. In the midst of the raindrops pullers and fans a like would turn out for the great event. There would be 130 pullers divided up between 25 different classes from stock trucks all the way up to the big 4x4 tractors. There would around 800 spectators that would come through the gate to see the pulling action along with helping a great cause. Plans are already underway to return the event in 2014. Gallery

New York State Class B First Round: #12 Beekmantown Eagles Vs #11 Schlamont Sabres June 3 2013

Beekmantown's Zach Brockway (2) picks the grounder at shortstop and fires across for the out at first. The Beekmantown Eagles would host the Schlamont Sabres in the opening round of the New York State Class B Playoffs. The game would be pitching duel through the first four innings with only four hits combined by the teams. The Eagles would actually strike first to take a 1-0 lead. Then at the top of the 5th, the Sabres bats would come alive and the Eagles defense would fall to execute some plays and the Sabres would strike for 6 runs and have a 6-1 lead. The Eagles would try there best to get back in the game in the bottom of the inning as they would score two to make it 6-3. Then in the seventh inning, the Sabres would put the final touches of the game as they would score four more runs and secure the 10-3 victory. With the defeat, the Eagles season would come to an end as they finish the season with a record of 18-4. Gallery

Ellenburg Center Fire Department Kid's Day June 1 2013

Mary Ann Russell doing a little face painting for one of the local kids. The Ellenburg Center Fire Department would hold there second annual kids day at the station. There would be around 30 kids that would take part. They would offer bounce house, water slide, tattoos, snow-cones, popcorn, lunch, and other goodies. The Clinton County Safety Trailer would also be there showing the kids what to do in case of a fire. The Ellenburg Center Fire Department would like to thank all the kids and their parents that came out to event and plans are already underway for next year's event. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class B Baseball Championship #1 Beekmantown Eagles Vs #2 Peru Indians May 30th 2013

Beekmantown's Adam Goldfarb (3) with the sliding barehanded pick behind second base and completes the play by firing to first for the out. The Beekmantown Eagles and Peru Indians would face off for the Section VII Class B title at Chip Cummings Field for the right to go the state playoffs. The Indians would take the 1-0 lead in first to get everything started. The Indians would extend it to 3-0 in third. Then in the bottom of the third, the Eagles would get right back in the game and tie it at three with three runs of there own. The Indians would regain the lead at 4-3 in the fifth. Although the relentless Eagles would tie it back up in the 6th to make it 4-4. Then the big drama would come in the bottom of the seventh when Zack Myers would get the game-winning walk-off single that would score Brandon Rabideau to give the Eagles the 5-4 win and Section VII Title. Getting the win on the mound for the Eagles would be Brandon Rabideau. With the win, the Beekmantown Eagles now head to state play where they play Schalmont on June 3rd at Chip Cummings Field. Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class B Baseball Semi-Finals #1 Beekmantown Eagles Vs #4 Northeastern Clinton Cougars May 28 2013

Beekmantown's Zack Brockway (2) with that second base on Northeastern Clinton's #15 as he tried to steal second but was tagged out just short of the bag. The #1 Beekmantown Eagles hosted #4 Northeastern Clinton Cougars in Section 7 Semi-Final action. The Cougars would out to the quick 1-0 lead after the first. That is where the score would remain until the third when the Eagles would bounce back with three runs to take a 3-1 lead. The Cougars would come right back in the fourth and score two runs to tie the game at 3. Then om fifth the Eagles would take back the lead at 4-3. Then in the sixth, they would add an insurance run to secure the 5-3 win. Getting the win for the Eagles would be Austin Bradish as he struck out three and gave up four hits three walks and three runs. With the win, the Eagles advance to the finals against the Peru Indians at Chip Cummings Field on May 30th. Gallery

Northern Adirondack Conference Softball Class D Quarterfinals: #2 Chateaugay Bulldogs Vs #7 Madrid-Waddington Yellowjackets May 22 2013

Chateaugay's Kylie Hanley (10) makes solid contact on the pitch and sends it back up the middle for a single. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the Madrid-Waddington Yellowjackets in Section X Class D Quarterfinal playoff action. The Yellowjackets would start off with upset on there mind as they would get single runs in the first and second inning to take a 2-0 lead. Then the Yellowjackets would get two in third to make it 4-0 Yellowjackets. Although in the bottom of the third the Bulldogs would get on the broad with 3 runs to make it 4-3. They would then pull ahead in the bottom of the fourth with four runs to make it 7-4. Then before the fifth could be started the rains would come and the umpires would hold the game up and later suspended due to unplayable field condition. The game was scheduled to be resumed on May 23 but rain would postpone the game again and now scheduled to be restarted on Tuesday, May 28th. Gallery

Champlain Valley Baseball League Peabodies Padres Vs Meron's Expos May 19 2013

Peabody's Matthew Hart (10) drops down and fields the grounder sent to third base and fires it across for the out. The Peabody's Padres would take on the Meron's Expos in Week 3 of the Champlain Valley Baseball League. In-game one the Expos would take the 1-0 lead in the first inning. The game would stay there till the fourth when the Expos would add four more runs to extend the lead to 5-0. The Expos would get two more in the fifth to secure the 7-0 victory. Getting the win for the Expos Billy Davis would pitch the shutout giving up just four hits and striking out two. As the teams would return for the second game the Padres would take the quick 1-0 lead on Jeff Norton's RBI double. The score would stay way until the third when the Padres would get three runs thanks to Matthew Hart's two-RBI single and Brady Burleigh's RBI single to make it 4-0. The Expos would do there best to get back in as they cut the lead in half with two runs in the fourth couldn't get any closer though. As the Padres would get the 4-2 win to earn the split on the day. In the win for game two, Frank Brogna would go four innings strike out one give up two runs on three hits. With the splits, the Padres go to 2-4 on the season. Gallery

Northern Adirondack Conference Softball: Chateaugay Bulldogs Vs Parishville-Hopkinton Panthers May 18 2013

Chateaugay's Hannah Cook (11) charges on the grounder to shortstop and fires to first for the out to end the game. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the Parishville-Hopkinton Panthers in doubleheader east division action. The Bulldogs would make easy work of the Panthers in the opening game as they would take the 22-9 victory. Then when the teams would return for the second game the Panthers would give them a better fight although the Bulldogs would still get the 9-2 victory. With the wins, the Bulldogs will secure a first-round home game as they go to 11-4 on the season. In the winning effort, Courtney Boyea would strike out four. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Baseball: #15 Beekmantown Eagles Vs Saranac Lake Red Storm May 17 2013

Beekmantown's Quenton Barber (23) drops down and fields the grounder on the hop that was sent down the line and first to first for the out. The Beekmantown Eagles would host the Saranac Lake Red Storm on Senior Day in a CVAC Division 1 clash. The Red Storm were looking to spoil the seniors last game as they jump out to the 1-0 lead after the first inning. That is where the game would remain until the third inning when the Eagles would get two to take the 2-1 lead. Then in the fourth inning, the Eagles would start to take command as they would score times to take the comfortable 7-2 lead as the Red Storm would get one at the top of the inning. The teams would trade runs in the fifth to make the score 8-3. Then in the sixth, the Eagles would add one more to end the scoring and secure the 9-3 victory. Austin Bradish would go five innings strike of two and give up four hits in the winning effort. Talking to Coach Bell after the game he would like to thank all the seniors for years of commitment to the program and wish them the best of luck in the future. With the win, the Eagles go to 15-3 on the season. Gallery

Northern Adirondack Conference Softball: St. Regis Falls Saints May 15 2013

Chateaugay's Hannah Cook (11) with the tag on St. Regis Falls Stawell (38) trying to stretch the single into a double. he Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the St. Regis Falls Saints in a doubleheader of softball action inside the eastern division. In the first game the Bulldogs would get off to a quick start and get seven runs to take the 7-0 lead. Then in the second, they would come back with five more runs to extend the lead to 12-0. Then they would add two more in the third to make it 14-0. Then they would end the slaughter in the fourth with five more runs to secure the 19-0 win. When the teams would return for the second game it would start with both teams trading runs in the first to make it 1-1. They would do it again in the third inning to make it 2-2. In the fourth inning the Bulldogs would get four runs while the Saints get one to make it 6-3 bulldogs. In the fifth inning the Saints would do there best to get back in it but they would fall short at 6-5. In the winning effort Courtney Boyea would pitch 6 innings and strike out six. With the two wins the Bulldogs go to 8-4 on the season. Gallery
