It would be the semi-finals on the SUNYAC Playoffs from the sold-out Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena as the #2 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #3 Geneseo State Knights for the right to head to the conference finals. The game would start off well for the home Cardinals as they would get the opening goal of the game at the 9:52 mark of the first period on the Bennett Stockdale for the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there all the way till the 9:45 mark of the second period when Brendan Young would score for the Cardinals and give them the 2-0 lead. The two-goal lead would be short-lived though as the Knights would get on the board two minutes later on the Domenic Garozzo goal and make it a 2-1 game. The game would stay there till the 4:32 mark of the third period when Luk Jirousek would light the lamp for the 3-1 game. Then with just over six minutes left in the game, Jake Lanyi would score for the Cardinals and make it a 4-1 lead. The Cardinals would add one more with just over thirty seconds left in the game when Carson Gallagher would get the empty netter for the 5-1 victory. In the winning effort, the Cardinals will advance to the SUNYAC championship and take on the top-seeded Oswego State Lakers for the conference's auto bid to the NCAA Tournament. Gallery

The game would start off good for the underdog Golden Eagles as they would get the opening goal of the game from Connor Galloway at the 4:49 mark of the first period. The Cardinals would fight back and get the tying goal at the 13:24 mark from Ryan Hogg. The tie would be short-lived as Connor Galloway would strike again with his second goal of the game just two minutes later to regain the lead at 2-1. Just 1:44 into the second period the Golden Eagles would make it a two-goal game at 3-1 on the powerplay goal by Andrew Harley. From there the Cardinals would take control of the period with five goals in a ten-minute span from Christian DiFelice (twice), Carson Gallagher, Trey Thomas, Thomas Maia and make it a 6-3 Cardinals game with three minutes left in the second period. In the third period just 3:42 into it, Golden Eagles would make it a 6-4 game on the Jacob King goal. Then in a 15-second span with 90 seconds left in the game, the Golden Eagles would score twice and force overtime on Anthony Hora's goal and Connor Galloway's powerplay goal to send it to overtime tied at six. In the overtime at 8:10, the comeback and upset would be complete at the 8:10 mark when Scott Ramaekers would find the back of the night for the 7-6 Golden Eagles win. In the loss for the Cardinals, their season comes to end at 15-8-3 while the Brockport State Golden Eagles head to the semi-finals and will faceoff with the #1 Geneseo Knights. Gallery

It would be the classic rivalry this time in the SUNYAC Semi-Finals as the #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #4 Oswego State Lakers. It would take until the 8:15 mark of the second period until we would have a goal from Jesse Neher to give the Cardinals the 1-0 lead. The Lakers would get two goals in the remainder of the period to give the Lakers a 2-1 lead after two periods. The Cardinals Nick Belger would tie the game up at 2 at the 7:17 mark of the third period on a power play goal. Then the Cardinals would score again at the 10:09 mark from Dillan Fox to regain the lead at 3-2. Although the Lakers would get a late period goal to tie the game and send it to overtime. In that overtime Michael Radisa would score for the Cardinals at the 10:09 mark and give them the 4-3 win and send them to the SUNYAC Championship against Geneseo State.
