ECAC West Women's Hockey: #2 Plattsburgh State Cardinals vs #9 Elimra College Soaring Eagles December 11th 2010

Plattsburgh State's Megan DiJulio (13) with the check along the end boards to free up the puck. he Plattsburgh State Cardinals would come up on the short end of a 3-2 contest against the Elmira College Soaring Eagles in a battle of two top 10 teams in the nation. Plattsburgh State would get the opening score bt Kayla Colang to take the 1-0 lead 7 minutes into the first period. The Soaring Eagles would answer quickly back with the tying goal 2 minutes later. Then at the 14-minute mark of the period they would take the 2-1. The Cardinals Kylie Klassen would tie the game at 2 with 30 seconds remaining in the first. The Soaring Eagles would get the game-winner just a minute into the second period for the 3-2 victory. With the lose the Cardinals take there first loss of the season falling to 7-1 and with the win the Soaring Eagles improve to 8-2-1 and are tied atop the conference standings. Gallery

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals were looking to come back after losing the night before. Although those efforts would come up short against the Oneonta State Red Dragons 71-59. In the losing effort, Nora Campbell would lead the way with 19 points as the Cardinals would fall to 2-4 on the season and 0-2 in the conference. Gallery

In a game that was a rematch of last year's SUNYAC Championship the Cardinals would prevail with the 69-60 win and improve to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference. The Cardinals would open up conference play on the short end to the New Paltz Hawks 67-55. Turnovers would be the Cardinal's downfall every time they would start to get close they would lose the ball and the Wildcats would go on a run. Plattsburgh State Cardinals Jenny Kistner (8) swings it to outside to avoid the defender. The #8 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would get the 4-1 victory over the Buffalo State Bengals in ECAC-West play. The Cardinals would open up the scoring in the second on three goals coming from Alyssa Parke, Allison Era, and Jenny Kistner. They would add one from Emma Rutherford in the third period. The Bengals would get a goal late to make it 4-1. Sydney Aveson would stop 20 of 21 as the Cardinals improve to 6-2-1 on the season. Gallery

NCAA Division III Men's Hockey Primelink Great Northern Shootout Championship Plattsburgh State Cardinals vs #1 Norwich Cadets November 29th 2010

Plattsburgh State's Jared Docking (39) tried to slide it into the bottom corner although the Norwich goalie gets the glove on the pick at the last minute. The game would be tied at o after the 1st period. Then the Cardinals would take the 1-0 lead just two minutes into the 2nd period on the Eric Satim goal. Although the Cadets would answer right back to tie the game at 1 three minutes later. The Cadets would take the 2-1 8 minutes into the third. Then the Cardinals would score two goals in just over a minute from Nick Jensen and Matt Bessing to capture the title 3-2. In the winning effoer John Leis stops 29 shots and Eric Satim was named the touranment MVP. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Dylan Clarke (24) put the puck up over the leg of the St. John's goalie for one of his two goals on the night. The game would turn into a shootout as the Cardinals would get the 7-4 win. The two teams would score early and often in the first period combining for 5 goals and the Cardinals would trail 3-2 on goals from Cody Adams and Dylan Adams. In the 2nd period, the Cardinals would get three unanswered goals to lead 5-3 on goals from Eric Satin, Vick Schlueter, and Patrick Jobbs. In the third period, the Cardinals would finish off the Johnnies for the 7-4 win on goals from Dan Sliasis & Dylan Clarke (2nd of the night). In the winning effort, John Leis would stop 22. Gallery

SUNYAC Men's Hockey #8 Plattsburgh State Cardinals vs Morrisville State Mustangs November 13th 2010

Plattsburgh State's Nick Jensen (14) shot on net is deflected high and wide by Morrisville State goaltender. The #8 Plattsburgh State Cardinals were upset by Morrisville State 3-2 for the home opener of the 2010-2011 hockey season. The downfall for the Cardinals would be that had a hard time staying out of the penalty box and the Mustangs capitalized with two power-play goals (2-8 on the night). Along with not being able to get there power play going as they went 1-9 on the night with the man up. The cardinals will home to get back on the right track next weekend as they will host Buffalo State and Fredonia. Gallery
