NYSPHSAA Northern Regional Class D Girl's Basketball Championship: #6 Chateaugay Bulldogs Vs #9 Schroon Lake Wildcats March 1st 2025

Chateaugay's Irelynn Laplante (12) takes flight on the breakaway score for two of her 16 points on the afternoon. It would be regional finals day from the Clinton Community College with a ticket to the final four on the line, starting with the Class D Girls. It would see the #6 Chateaugay Bulldogs from Section X taking on the # 9 Schroon Lake Wildcats from Section VII. The game would start quickly, but it would be good for the visiting Bulldogs as they would jump out to an 11-lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Bulldogs would use their quick shooting to jump on, take control of the game with a 16-5 quarter, and take the 33-16 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Bulldogs would keep up their tight defense, have another good quarter at 10-5, and take the 43-21 lead into the final quarter. With the outcome of the game well out of doubt, the coaches would put the benches in for the fourth quarter, and the Bulldogs would win the low-scoring quarter at 6-3 as they would secure the 49-24 victory. In the winning effort for the Chateaugay Bulldogs, they will punch their ticket to the final four and get the winner of LaFragville and South Knighton at Hudson Valley Community College. In the win for the Bulldogs, Madison McComb and Irelynn Laplante each had 16 points as they went to 24-1 in the season. As for the Schroon Lake Wildcats' season, it would end at 14-8, while Olivia Hartwell would lead the team with 13 points. Gallery

#6 Chateaugay Bulldogs Vs #9 Schroon Lake Wildcats March 15th 2025
The Chateaugay Bulldogs are crowned the 2025 Nothern Regional Class D Girls' Basketball champions with a 49-24 victory over the Schroon Lake Wildcats to advance to the final four. It would be regional finals day from the Clinton Community College with a ticket to the final four on the line, starting with the Class D Girls. It would see the #6 Chateaugay Bulldogs from Section X taking on the # 9 Schroon Lake Wildcats from Section VII. #2 Northville Falcons (II) Vs. #13 Boquet Valley Griffins March 9th 2024
The Northville Falcons would be crowned the 2024 NYSPHSAA Class D Girl's Basketball Northern Regional champion with the 60-30 victory over the Boquet Valley Griffins. It would be the third game on the day at the Clinton Community College Forrence Gym on Regional Final Saturday in front of another packed crowd this time we would see the #2 Northville Falcons from Section II taking on the host #13 Boquet Valley Griffins from Section VII. The game would start well for the Northville Falcons as they got out to the quick lead on the Griffins they would double them up after the first quarter at 14-7. In the second quarter, the Falcons would show why they are the number 2 team in the state as they would take control of the game with a 22-7 quarter and take a 36-14 lead into the halftime break. When the teams returned for the third quarter the Griffins would do their best to stay with the Falcons but they would have no answer as the Falcons have a 12-10 quarter and take the 48-24 lead into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter with the outcome of the game pretty much done with the Falcons would let up out there and still have a 12-6 quarter and secure the 60-30 victory to punch their ticket to the Hudson Valley Community College and NYSPHSAA Class D Final Four next weekend. In the winning effort for Northville Falcons, Hailey Monroe would lead the way with 29 points as they go to 20-3 on the season. NYSPHSAA Girls Baskeetball Class D Regional Finals: #2 Northville Falcons (II) Vs #13 Boquet Valley Griffins (VII) March 9th 2024

Northville's Kiera Mackey (21) with the three from the wing as part of a 20-point effort on the day. It would be the third game on the day at the Clinton Community College Forrence Gym on Regional Final Saturday in front of another packed crowd this time we would see the #2 Northville Falcons from Section II taking on the host #13 Boquet Valley Griffins from Section VII. The game would start well for the Northville Falcons as they got out to the quick lead on the Griffins they would double them up after the first quarter at 14-7. In the second quarter, the Falcons would show why they are the number 2 team in the state as they would take control of the game with a 22-7 quarter and take a 36-14 lead into the halftime break. When the teams returned for the third quarter the Griffins would do their best to stay with the Falcons but they would have no answer as the Falcons have a 12-10 quarter and take the 48-24 lead into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter with the outcome of the game pretty much done with the Falcons would let up out there and still have a 12-6 quarter and secure the 60-30 victory to punch their ticket to the Hudson Valley Community College and NYSPHSAA Class D Final Four next weekend. In the winning effort for Northville Falcons, Hailey Monroe would lead the way with 29 points as they go to 20-3 on the season. #3 Duanesburg Eagles (ii) Vs #25 Moriah Vikings (VII) March 9th 2024
The #3 ranked Duanesburg Eagles are crowned the 2024 NYSPHSAA Girl's Basketball Northern Regional Class C Champions with a 51-29 win over #25 Moriah Vikings. It would be the quarterfinals of the NYSPHSAA Girl's Basketball Class C Championship and it would be a battle of the top 25 teams as the #3 Duanesburg Eagles would travel up to Clinton Community College and take on the #25 Moriah Vikings from the host section VII. The upset-looking Vikings would get off to a good start as they would be doubling up the Eagles with a 9-4 opening quarter for the early lead. In the second quarter, the Eagles would start to cut into the lead of the Vikings as they would have a 10-6 quarter to give the Vikings the slight 15-14 lead at the intermission. When the teams would return for the second half the Eagles would come out soaring with a 12-3 quarter to take the eight-point lead of 26-18 into the fourth quarter. The Eagles would be too much in the fourth quarter as they would have a 25-11 quarter to close out the Vikings with the 51-29 victory. In the winning effort, the Eagles will advance to the New York State Final Four behind the 35-point performance of Allison O'Hannah while the Moriah Vikings season will end. Gallery
NYSPHSAA Girls Baskeetball Class C Regional Finals: #3 Duanesburg Eagles (ii) Vs #25 Moriah Vikings (VII) March 9th 2024

Duanesburg's Allison O'Hannah (30) takes it up and around Moriah's Maddie Eichen (10) as she charges down the lane for the score as part of a game-high 35 points. It would be the quarterfinals of the NYSPHSAA Girl's Basketball Class C Championship and it would be a battle of the top 25 teams as the #3 Duanesburg Eagles would travel up to Clinton Community College and take on the #25 Moriah Vikings from the host section VII. The upset-looking Vikings would get off to a good start as they would be doubling up the Eagles with a 9-4 opening quarter for the early lead. In the second quarter, the Eagles would start to cut into the lead of the Vikings as they would have a 10-6 quarter to give the Vikings the slight 15-14 lead at the intermission. When the teams would return for the second half the Eagles would come out soaring with a 12-3 quarter to take the eight-point lead of 26-18 into the fourth quarter. The Eagles would be too much in the fourth quarter as they would have a 25-11 quarter to close out the Vikings with the 51-29 victory. #7 Northeastern Clinton Cougars Vs #3 Greenwich Witches March 8th 2023
Northeastern Clinton's Bailee LaFountain (10) with the score on the layup as she charges down the lane for the score. It would be the first round of the NYSPHSAA Class C Tournament and it would be a matchup inside the top ten teams as the #7 Northeastern Clinton Cougars would take on the #3 Greenwich Witches for the right to head to the quarterfinals from Clinton Community College. The game would start off great for the #3 Greenwich Witches as they would race out to a 17-4 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Cougars would dust off the early game nerves and fight back into the game with a 15-4 quarter to trail by just 2 at the break 21-19. When the teams returned for the second half the Witches would find would get back on track and would expand their lead to ten points with a 19-11 quarter for the 40-30 lead as they enter the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Witches would be able to keep a spell on the Cougars with a 9-4 quarter for the 49-34 victory. With the win, the #3 Greenwich Witches would advance to the quarterfinals of the tournament and have a match-up with the #13 Canton Golden Bears with a ticket to the final four on the line. Gallery
NYSPHSAA Class C Girl's Basketball First Round: #7 Northeastern Clinton Cougars Vs #3 Greenwich Witches March 8th 2023

It would be the first round of the NYSPHSAA Class C Tournament and it would be a matchup inside the top ten teams as the #7 Northeastern Clinton Cougars would take on the #3 Greenwich Witches for the right to head to the quarterfinals from Clinton Community College. The game would start off great for the #3 Greenwich Witches as they would race out to a 17-4 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Cougars would dust off the early game nerves and fight back into the game with a 15-4 quarter to trail by just 2 at the break 21-19. When the teams returned for the second half the Witches would find would get back on track and would expand their lead to ten points with a 19-11 quarter for the 40-30 lead as they enter the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Witches would be able to keep a spell on the Cougars with a 9-4 quarter for the 49-34 victory. Section VII Class D Girl's Basketball Championship: #2 Boquet Valley Griffins Vs #1 Seton Catholic Knights March 5th 2023

Boquet Valley's Abby Schwoebel (12) with the block on Seton Catholic's Madyson Whalen (10) as she drives the hoop. It would be game three of championship Sunday and we would be back on the girl's side of the ball as the #1 Seton Catholic Knights would meet up with the #2 Boquet Valley Griffins to decide the winner of Section VII Class D action. The game would start odd good for the Knights as they would get off to the early lead as would double up the Griffins with a 16-8 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the tables would flip and the Griffins would fight their way back in the game with good defense as they would win the quarter 8-4 but the Knights would have the 20-16 lead at the break. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Griffins would continue their comeback with an 11-8 quarter making it a one-point lead for the Knights at 28-27 as they enter the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter the two teams would fight back and forth as they would battle for the crown and with under 5 seconds left in the game Abby Schwobel would score to tie the game at 34 and force overtime. In the overtime, the Knights would be just a bit more than the Griffins as they would win the frame 9-3 to secure the 43-37 victory. With the win, the Seton Catholic Knights advance to the NYSPHSAA Class D Tournament and will take on Notre Dame-Bishop from Section II for the right to head to the NYSPHSAA Final Four. Gallery

#2 Boquet Valley Griffins Vs #1 Seton Catholic Knights March 5th 2023
The Seton Catholic Knights crowned the 2023 Section VII Class D champions with the overtime 43-37 victory over the Boquet Valley Griffins.
