Schroon Lake Wildcats Vs Seton Catholic Knights Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Girl's Basketball December 15th 2022
Schroon Lake's (21) throws it up and lays it off the window for the score as Seton Catholic's Chole Lawliss (21) trails the play. It would be a contest inside the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference as the Seton Catholic Knights would host the Schroon Lake Wildcats in Girl's Basketball action. It would be a very physical game from the opening tip, and the Wildcats would have a slim 14-13 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the defenses would regain supreme as the teams would combine for nine points in the quarter and the game would go into the intermission tie at 18. When the teams returned for the second half the Knights would bring their offense to the court and take control of the game with a 10-4 quarter and take the 28-22 lead into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the Wildcats would give it their best to get the game back in favor although they would come up short with a 12-8 quarter to give the Seton Catholic Knights the win at 36-34. Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Girl's Basketball Class D Championship #2 Boquet Valley Griffins Vs #1 Schroon Lake Wildcats March 5th 2022
Schroon Lake's Allison Baker (15) drives in on a pair of Griffins defenders for the contested layup and score. It would be the first game of the championship Saturday and the #2 Boquet Valley Griffins would battle with the #1 Schroon Lake Wildcats for the right to go to the NYSPHSAA Class D Tournament. The Griffins would show to play and play they would as they would jump out to an 11-2 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Griffins would keep their top-notch defense up with a 13-4 quarter and have big 24-6 lead at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the rest would not hurt the Griffins as they would have their best output with an 18-9 quarter and take a 42-15 into the fourth. In that fourth quarter the Griffins would back off and course to the 14-15 quarter and take the 56-30 victory and the crown of the 2022 Section VII Class D champions and the Schroon Lake season comes to end at 15-5. Next up for the Boquet Valley Griffins would be the NYSPHSAA Class D Tournament and quarterfinal game on Saturday, March 12th. Gallery

#2 Boquet Valley Griffins @ #1 Schroon Lake Wildcats March 4th 2022
The Bouquet Valley Griffins have been crowned the 2022 Section VII Class D Girl's Basketball champions. It would be the first game of the championship Saturday and the #2 Boquet Valley Griffins would battle with the #1 Schroon Lake Wildcats for the right to go to the NYSPHSAA Class D Tournament. The Griffins would show to play and play they would as they would jump out to an 11-2 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Griffins would keep their top-notch defense up with a 13-4 quarter and have big 24-6 lead at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the rest would not hurt the Griffins as they would have their best output with an 18-9 quarter and take a 42-15 into the fourth. In that fourth quarter the Griffins would back off and course to the 14-15 quarter and take the 56-30 victory and the crown of the 2022 Section VII Class D champions and the Schroon Lake season comes to end at 15-5. #4 Schroon Lake Wildcats Vs #1 Seton Catholic Knights March 2nd 2022
Seton’s Alex Coupal shoots through contact with Schroon Lake’s Corbin Baker. The Seton Catholic boys basketball team earned a postseason victory Wednesday with a 53-41 over Schroon Lake in the Class D semifinal.
The Knights looked to set the tone early, maintaining a lead through most of the first quarter led by 7 points from Ashton Guay, but a three-point shot from Carter Hart late in the quarter gave the Wildcats an 11-9 advantage at the first buzzer.
Seton pulled away in the second quarter, with Guay, Alex Coupal, and Aiden Pearl each scoring five or more as the Knights outscored the Wildcats 17-4 in the quarter.
The Knights expanded their lead in the third, as Pearl posted 8 points to nearly match Schroon Lake's team total of 9 in the frame. Isaiah Pelkey's 12-point fourth-quarter performance was unable to close the gap, and Seton sealed it for the home victory.
Guay led the Knights' scoring with 20 points, followed by Pearl's 18. Pelkey's late burst in the comeback attempt saw him end with 25 points in the game.
With the win, Seton advanced to the Class D final against Boquet Valley Saturday at Clinton Community College.

Schroon Lake Wildcats @ Plattsburgh Hornets Section VII Girl's Basketball February 7th 2022
Plattsburgh's Charlotte Steria (23) is in flight for the breakaway layup off the window. It would be an interconference game this even as the Schroon Lake Wildcats from the Mountain Valley Conference would travel to Plattsburgh and take on the Hornets from the Champlain Valley Conference. The game would start off great for the road Wildcats as they would jump out to a 15-5 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Hornets would start to get their legs and shut down the Wildcats with an 8-3 quarter although they would still trail 18-13 at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the teams would be fairly evenly matched as the Hornets would win slightly 13-11 with the Wildcats still leading 29-27 as they headed to the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Hornets would start to run out of gas and the wildcats would get 14-9 quarter and a 43-36 victory. In the winning effort, the Wildcats go to 10-4 while the Hornets fall to 6-10 on the season. Gallery

#1 Schroon Lake Wildcats Vs #3 Willsboro Warriors - Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Basketball D Finals - March 7th 2020

It would be the Section VII Class D Finals and would feature the top seed Schroon Lake Wildcats and the #3 Willsboro Warriors at the SUNY Plattsburgh Fieldhouse with the winner headed to the state tournament. The game would be tight through the first quarter and the Wildcats would have a 11-8 lead at the end of the quarter. In the second quarter, the game would stay tight and low scoring as the Wildcats would win the quarter 8-6 and have a 19-14 lead at the break. When the teams back for the second half the offenses would come alive and the Warriors would fight back and win the quarter 18-13 and tie the game at 32 as they head into the 4th quarter. In that fourth quarter, the Wildcats would get the slim 8-7 win but that was not without a last-ditch effort from the Warriors. As the Schroon Lake Wildcats would secure the Section VII Class D Championship with the 40-39 and leading the way for the Wildcats would be Cian Bresnahan with 19 points. Gallery

The celeberation is on as the Schroon Lake Wildcats are the victors in the Section VII Class D Basketball finals.
