Plattsburgh's Charlotte Steria (23) is in flight for the breakaway layup off the window. It would be an interconference game this even as the Schroon Lake Wildcats from the Mountain Valley Conference would travel to Plattsburgh and take on the Hornets from the Champlain Valley Conference. The game would start off great for the road Wildcats as they would jump out to a 15-5 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Hornets would start to get their legs and shut down the Wildcats with an 8-3 quarter although they would still trail 18-13 at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the teams would be fairly evenly matched as the Hornets would win slightly 13-11 with the Wildcats still leading 29-27 as they headed to the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Hornets would start to run out of gas and the wildcats would get 14-9 quarter and a 43-36 victory.
