Plattsburgh's Joey Jamison (24) with the save leg save on the bounce shot attempt. The Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Lake Placid Red Storm in the Section X Crossover game. This would be the third meeting between these teams and firmly would show as the Hornets would have a slim 3-1 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter the Hornets would find there footing and take a 6-1 lead into the intermission. In the second half the Red Storm would do there best to make a game of it losing the half 5-4 although the Hornets were just to much to early winning the game 11-5. In the winning effort Michael Graves would let the way with the hat trick as the Hornets season comes to an end at 4-13. Gallery

The Plattsburgh Hornets pose for there team photo as they get there first win in league. The Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Lake Placid Red Storm in Section X Boys Lacrosse. The teams would traded goals in the first quarter and be tied at 2. In the second quarter the Horners would win the quarter 2-1 and have a 5-3 lead at the intermission. When the teams would return for the second half the Hornets defense would clap down and not allow a goal and the Hornets would get four goals for the 9-3 victory. In the winning effort the Hornets would get there first ever Section X win and go to 2-9 on the season. Gallery

Ausable Valley Patriots Vs Saranac Lake Red Storm September 1st 2017

Ausable Valley's Jason Fletcher (21) with the leaping catch over the middle although the catch didn't count because of a holding penalty still 100% effort. It would be opening night of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference football season and the Ausable Valley Patriots would host the Saranac Lake Red storm. The Red Storm would get the opening score of the game as Jarrett Ashton would bust out for 61 yards for the 6-0 lead. The would stay there til 3 minutes into the 2nd quarter when Mason Douglas would return a fumble and give the Patriots the 8-6 lead. The Red Storm would answer right back on Jarrett Ashton's second touchdown of the night and regain the 14-8 lead. On the next Patriots possession, Matthew Pray would break it 80 yards and the Patriots would take the 16-14 lead back. Although the Red Storm would strike again on a Jacob Shipman 50 yard touchdown reception to give the Red Storm the 22-16 lead at the break. When the teams came back for the second half the Patriots defense would step up and take charge of the game. The Patriots would retake the lead at 24-22 on a Luis Perez 8 yard reception and score with just under 5 minutes left in the third quarter. The Patriots would extend there lead to 30-22 a 71-yard touchdown run for Matthew Pray his second of the game Then with just under 8 minutes left in the game Jarrett Ashton would get his third touchdown of the game and tie the game at 30. The Patriots would regain the lead at 38-30 with 6:30 left in the game on Matthew Pray's third touchdown of the game and secure the 38-30 win. In the winning effort, the Patriots start there season at 1-0 while the Red Storm falls to 0-1. Gallery.

It would be opening night of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference football season and the Ausable Valley Patriots would host the Saranac Lake Red storm. The Red Storm would get the opening score of the game as Jarrett Ashton would bust out for 61 yards for the 6-0 lead. Saranac's Logan Matthews (10) with the pass break up on the attempt to Saranac Lake's Joe Viscardo (6) It would be week two of the Champlain Valley Athletic League with the Saranac Chiefs would be hosting the Saranac Lake Red Storm. The Red Storm would jump out to the quick 7-0 lead Brandon Meyers touchdown run. The Red Storm would extend their advantage to 13-0 on Joe Viscardo's touchdown reception. The Chiefs would cut the lead the deficit in half on the long touchdown reception for Isaac Garman and that's where the game would be at the half. The Red Storm would regain the 13 point lead on Joe Viscardo second touchdown on the day at 8:07 of the third quarter. Then with just under four minutes left in the game, they would extend it to 23-6 on a short field goal. As the clock would expire on the game the Chiefs would get a score on the quarterback keeper by Luke Maye to close out the 23-12 victory for the Red Storm. It would be the second week of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference football season and it would feature the Ausable Valley Patriots and the Ticonderoga Sentenials. It would be a match up to very evenly matched teams in a contest that would come down to what team could push it across first. The lone score of the game would come with 7:26 left in the fourth quarter when Justyn Granger would break through the line four the nine-yard score. In the winning effort, the Ticonderoga Sentinels would improve to 2-0 while the Ausable Valley Patriots would fall to 0-2 on the season. Gallery

Saranac's Michael Bernardi (22) takes it through the whole and cuts to the outside and goes for the 30-yard touchdown. The Saranac Chiefs would host the #6 Saranac Lake Red Storm in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference action. The Red Storm would use the offense to get out to the quick 23-0 lead after the first quarter and not look back. The Red Storm would take a 36-0 lead into the break. They would get one more score in the third to get 42-0 lead. In the fourth quarter the Chiefs would score a couple times first on Michael Bernardi with the 30-yard touchdown run and then as time expired the Chiefs would get a 30-yard field goal from Tony Bushey. The Red Storm would get the 42-11 victory and finish the regular season undefeated at 7-0 while the Chiefs fall to 2-5. Next week the Red Storm will host the Ausable Valley Patriots in section 7 class C title game while the Chiefs travel to Beekmantown to take on the Eagles in the Section 7 Class B Semi-Finals.
