Empire Football League Week 8: Plattsburgh North Stars @ Glens Falls Greenjackets September 14 2013

Plattsburgh's Brandon St. John (17) leaps up to break up the pass intended for Glens Falls' Alec Conover (9). The Plattsburgh North Stars would travel down to Glens Falls and take on the Greenjackets. The North Stars would take the quick 7-0 lead when Dexter Geohagan would run back the opening kickoff. Then they would strike again on there next drive on a long Touchdown pass to Dexter Geohagan to make it 14-0. Then the remainder of the first half the Greenjackets would charge back getting 10 points to make it 14-10 North Stars at intermission. When the teams would return for the second half the North Stars would extend there lead to 20-10 on Chris Fish's touchdown. The North Stars would strike again on Dexter Geohagan's third touchdown of the night to make it 26-10. The Greenjackets would do there best to try and get the win at the end scoring twice but the North Stars would hold on for 26-24 victory. With the win, the North Stars will go to 5-3 on the season with the there regular-season finale against the Watertown Red & Black. Gallery

The Peru Indians would host the Beekmantown Eagles in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class B Championships. The Peru Indians would not leave much doubt in the game as they would take a 21-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Then in the 2nd quarter, they would score three more times to take a 41-0 lead in the break. In the second half, the Eagles would do the best they could to keep the Indians off the scoreboard and only give up one score to make it a 48-0 final. With the lose the Eagles season comes to an end at 6-3. With the win, the Indians improve to 8-1 on the season. They will be moving on to state play next week against the Malone Huskies in Massena. The Peru Indians football team poses for there team photo as they celebrate there Champlain Valley Atheltic Conference Class B Championship. The Peru Indians would host the Beekmantown Eagles in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class B Championships. The Peru Indians would not leave much doubt in the game as they would take a 21-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Then in the 2nd quarter, they would score three more times to take a 41-0 lead in the break. In the second half, the Eagles would do the best they could to keep the Indians off the scoreboard and only give up one score to make it a 48-0 final. With the lose the Eagles season comes to an end at 6-3. With the win, the Indians improve to 8-1 on the season. They will be moving on to state play next week against the Malone Huskies in Massena. The Sting would take the lead 8-7 at the break. In the third quarter, both team's offense would go fast down and back and would be tied at 22 as the entered the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Stings would score to more times, and their defense would shut down the Northstars offense and get the 38-22 victory to earn the Empire Football League Championship. In the third quarter the Red and Black would strike quick to make it 13-7. Then late in the quarter the North Stars would tie the game up on Andrew Prices catch in the corner of the endzone. Then midway through the fourth quarter, the North Stars would score on Andrew Price's second touchdown of the night on a curl route just over the line.
